O EM Gee. It was looking for a nice medium range spa around my area and stumbled upon Sunflower. Contacted them and within 5 minutes, I got a response, and within 30 minutes, I got a massage! Good deal on yelp too! Don't know why there are bad stars, but my massage was amazing. My therapist's name was May/Mai (not sure of the spelling). She has been by far the best massage therapist I've had in my entire life. You know how some paces are good but not amazing, and you feel like you get shorted when you leave? Not with her. She kept her pressure and worked on all my knots. It was so good that I was thinking maybe I'll get a massage from her every week while I was laying there . Granted the place is straightforward, no frou frou scented aromatherapy oils and stuff, she did use some hot stones. I think I found my go-to place for massages! read more

Found this place on Yelp. Prices are reasonable. I paid for a 45 min massage which was $50. I gave the lady $60 and she didn't give me my change and I had to ask for it. I don't think she understood English very well. The person who gave me a massage was good. read more

What happened today is that "I made an appointment for 5:45p" I show up and she tells me their busy and to come back in an hour. I tell her, "No. I called. I've frequently visited this establishment for the last 2+ years and my recent visit has caused me to look for a new business to support. First, the language barrier is pretty tough. I spent 5 minutes the prior day setting an 8pm appointment.. with the only response of "we open at 10am". So I just figured I would call back the next day hoping to speak with someone. Appointment booked in 30 seconds. Score! My COVID deprived massage days are over. Upon arrival, I walk in to someone holding their open palm, pointing frequently. They asked how long of a massage and confirmed $50 so they again point to their hand. I only have $60, she collects and walks away. (Note- I'm rolling with the flow on this one. It seemed weird to collect the money upfront without change. Tipping before service seems strange.) She does a decent job. It was definitely relaxing although not as good as past visits. So why the one star review? On the way out, she kept trying to speak with me, but I couldn't understand what she was saying. Once she starts pointing to her hand again..I realized she wanted money. I told her the tip was paid when I got there since I didn't receive change upon initial payment. The only words she after that is "rude. rude. rude. Rude! Pointing directly at me. On 12/08:2019, our 8th times coming back at this massage spa, the service is different everytime. The first time was great! But 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so is no longer the same. Today we had our 90 mins combo massage. However, of that 90 mins massage, 30 mins of it my masseuse, is answering the phone and checking the door of who's coming in and inquiring about their services. We were booked for 7:00pm massage. We were accommodated 7:30pm our massage and ended 8:40pm you add the math if it's 90mins. And demanded $10.00 tip for the less that 90mins service that we paid! Won't recommend anymore! Terrible service. I made an appt in the morning for 5 pm, I confirmed again at 4 that it would be on time. I get there and no one is at the front and I wait 15 min and some lady comes and says that I have to wait longer because the customer before me came late....but doesn't tell me how long. Overbooked TWICE IN A ROW! The person on the phone had horrible communication skills but I eventually confirmed an appointment at 2pm. I go over, and Leia comes out and says sorry, she overbooked and to come back in an hour. Whatever, mistakes happen, right? I stay in the lot because I don't want to drive home. One hour later - she comes back out and says OH WHOOPS SHE OVERBOOKED AGAIN AND TO WAIT ANOTHER HOUR! NO LEIA, I am not waiting a second hour for your mistakes! WTF?!?!!?! How are you so incompetent? And the place is poorly decorated, the rooms have no doors, the bathroom is kinda run down... the new management has NO IDEA HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS! I have an expiring Groupon. I called three times to set up an appointment. The receptionist said too busy call back, too busy call back. Too busy call back. So I did. We couldn't communicate. She couldn't understand me trying to set up an appointment. So I decided to show up and set up an appointment in person. Makes me sad to have to update this negatively, but I called ahead for a 90 min massage and specifically asked for Kobe. When I got there and was already undressed on the table, Kobe came in and said a new guy who was "very good" would be working on me. I wasn't exactly in a position to refuse, so I said yes. The masseuse, I think his name was Leo, was very nice, but spent almost the whole massage running his forearms and elbows over my back in long strokes. I did not like this. I come to this massage place for deep tissue. After about an hour, I asked him to massage my shoulders, which he did. That part was nice, but the masseuse kept breathing loudly out of his mouth and at once point belched in the room. I thought it was gross and ruined my relaxation. When I had gotten there, the receptionist asked me to pay ahead of time, which I did. After the massage, Kobe showed me my tip and asked for more. This is exactly the kind of thing I dislike about other massage places so I was really disappointed to experience that with Kobe. Sadly, I won't be back and need to find another place. read more

I stopped by the Sunflower Spa yesterday in between appts. The staff were all pleasant and they had time to fit me in. I had the 90 minute combo massage which included a 60 minute full body and 30 minute foot massage. The therapist was terrific and hit all my trouble spots. I loved the inclusion of the hot stones and warm oils. The 30 minute foot experience really helped since I wasn't feeling great. It's amazing how pressure points on your feet can relieve all kinds of stress around your body. I didn't love that there were separations made out of pipes and drapes rather than actual rooms, but it will not stop me from going there again. The best part was all of this was only $55! read more

Honestly I wasn't going to give a review, but now I think it's important that I do because ever since my massage here a few days ago, my back has been in aching pain. For some reason, the masseuse I got focused far too much energy on my spine; I'm new to massages but I'm pretty sure a massage therapist is supposed to avoid that area all together. The therapist was actually very rough with my entire back, but when it came my legs, he somehow lost his strength; unfortunately that's the part of my body that I scheduled the visit for. I see great reviews for other members of the massage staff but unfortunately I was not lucky enough to receive any of them. read more

I then stumbled upon Sunflower Spa, really close to where I live. The place is clean, service is superb, and price very reasonable. My husband had bought me a gift certificate just before the COVID shut down. I called today to make an appointment and they told me the gift certificate wouldn't be honored because it was now under new ownership. So I asked what their price for an hour massage was - $50.00, the website says $39.99 if you come before noon which I was planning to do. They then told me the website is from the previous owner so they won't honor that price and they haven't updated the website since new management took over at the beginning of this year. We are now 7 1/2 months into the year, you would think they would at least get their website accurate. I told them that is false advertising and asked them if they would at least honor part of the gift certificate but they wouldn't do so. I won't be giving them $50 or 50 cents. In the 30 years or so that I have been getting massage therapy, I have never walked out on a therapist until now. I had a scheduled appointment and didn't have an issue with having a male therapist. However, this guy cannot seriously be licensed. After correcting him a few times about his technique and pressure, and realizing he didn't know what the heck he was doing, I got up and walked out. I came here for a 30-min massage during my lunch because I was having a really bad back pain in my mid back area. He did an amaaaaazing job. I was seriously so impressed!! I walked in feeling miserable but left feeling happy and impressed. Sunflower spa definitely exceeded my expectations. I thought that I would need an hour or more to work out the tension in my back, but 30 minutes got me on the right path. I will definitely come back for an hour massage next time or even 90 minutes! My masseuse also worked out the tension in my shoulders, neck, and calfs. He started with deep tissue massage, then long back rub strokes using aromatherapy oils, and even did hot stones and finished with a hotel towel rub. He even gave me a hot towel for my hands. I wanted to wait a couple of days to write this review to see if the massage I got from Sunflower Spa was effective or not. Well I can say now that I'm one satisfied customer. Kobe worked my muscles with intensity that I haven't experienced before from other spas. I'm still sore but it's a good sore. He concentrated on my shoulder that has been bothering me for awhile for more than half an hour. It sure has made a difference and the pain is less. I'm hopeful that with a few more visits that it will go away. Kobe was caring and asked if he was hurting me which was appreciated. I'm keenly aware too that no pain, no gain. The hot stones, oils and "medicine" on my shoulder were unexpected but a pleasant surprise! I will be back to this clean facility.
