Walked on ice on the steps , no salt to prevent falls as it was rain and ice that night !!! It was Slow I only seen one chef on the grill !!!! You basically get the same food as all hibachi places; we had hibachi filet mignon and scallops, very fresh and delicious; the sauce on the fried rice is delicious, not just soy, but a mix; waiter John was entertaining, though I was nervous the chopper would fly out of his hands and into my face; the river view from the dining room windows is gorgeous, but either clean or replace that one window to the left of the door! The dining room is clean, but outdated; and the rock-and-roll music was a hoot. I will continue to patronize this place. read more

Side salad and soup started off the food experience. Side salad was iceberg lettuce topped with their brown dressing. Very simple, presentation was not super appetizing. Soup legitimately seemed to consist of plain chicken broth with a miniscule sprinkling of raw scallion and baby portabella mushroom slices to feign that it could even be considered soup. It looked more like they accidentally dropped a few scraps from the cutting board into some broth and served it to us. Deluxe Chef's selection sushi comprised of a few different types of nigiri sushi including salmon, tuna, yellowtail as well as a California roll sprinkled with masago. The roll was very basic. Not bad, but by no means impressive or deluxe. Sushi rice was cooked very well. Tasty, aromatic, and perfect texture. Unfortunately, the sushi fish was either a little slimy or kinda dry and cracked depending on the type of fish. Appeared like I got a mix of old fish from the bin they use more often and old fish from the bin they don't use as much. Amazing roll wasn't particularly amazing. Same fish, same problems. I figured most people who come through rarely visit the sushi bar so their hibachi must be where they specialize. Girlfriend got the NY strip and shrimp hibachi. Beef was highly disappointing. Very well done steak, did not seem seared, instead appeared to be mediocre to low quality cut of beef cooked in hibachi sauce for too long at too low a temperature, i.e. boiled. Hibachi sauce flavor itself wasn't bad. Shrimp came out okay on the dish as did the vegetable. Wait staff was friendly and timely, though we were the only people there aside from one other family that was on the tail end of their meal. Finally, decor felt run down and old. Bar seemed cluttered, still had Valentine's day balloons tied onto the seats ten days after the fact, cases of beer stacked around, household fridge at the end with "keep fridge closed" scribbled on the front in marker. Felt a little confused whether I walked into a hibachi steakhouse or a country diner from the 70's. With a $60 bill not including tip, I have to say I'm highly disappointed in the quality. Maybe this place used to be a unique treasure for the area at one point in time but right now it needs a lot of work. read more

The food is perfection! Everything cooked from scratch when ordered. It does take a while so patience is a must. It took 40 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food. The ONE waitress was pleasant and accommodating as were the other employees and chefs, checking to make sure everything was as ordered and tasted as expected. We did not sit at a hibachi grill but 2 of the grills were completely surrounded...the restaurant was full and the patrons all appeared to be enjoying themselves once the hibachi chef started cooking. It was a most enjoyable dinner. The 4 stars was due to wait time and bit pricey for the portion sizes but the food was fantastic. read more

This restaurant is dirty with paint peeling off of the walls. I travel every other week for work and would not go back. Tried it because of reviews but not again. Sushi was small pieces and just OK but couldn't get past the smell of aged dirt. read more

The food was excellent. The hibachi chicken was juicy and well cooked. The shrimp were plump and delicious. Our server, Trey, was very attentive and accommodating. I recommend this place to anyone who wants great food at a reasonable price. read more

I don't even know where to start with this review. Let me start by saying that I have been a Yelp user since the beginning and only now felt the need to write a review based on how terrible and disgusting this place was. First impressions, the bathroom had one broken urinal covered with a trash bag and the other one wouldn't flush and was completely filled with piss. The hot water knob on the faucet was broken off and only the cold water worked. The overall cleanliness of the bathroom was on par with a truck stop where long haul truckers would stop. This alone should have been enough to make me leave but I was on a one hour lunch break from work so figured I would just stick it out since there was not a single person in the place aside from myself and the person I was eating lunch with. We ordered our sushi, two rolls each, the place was still empty. Forty minutes after being seated the server brings out the first roll. Keep in mind the restaurant is still empty at this point. The roll itself was priced at $12.95, average for a nice sushi roll, which this one was not. The rice was mushy as if the reason it took forty minutes to make was because she was waiting on the rice to get done cooking. The fish was warm and tasted like it was frozen fish that was thawed out. The avocado was grey and slimy. We mentioned that we were short on time and she said the other rolls were on the way, in fact she had not started making them yet. What happened next was almost incomprehensible for any sushi restaurant worth a damn. The other member of my party was served her first roll, it was a deep fried roll with crab. About 70% rice and there was a fruit fly in the sauce on top of the roll. Once again the rice was soggy and the tempura batter used to fry the roll was soft, doughy, and not crunchy at all. Our next two rolls were also fried, both followed the same pattern. Absolutely disgusting but at this point we had been there nearly an hour and were already late to get back to work. The last roll had still not come out yet. An hour and ten minutes later we finally were served all our food. At this point there was just one other gentlemen who was in the restaurant. The staff seemed to notice our frustration and tried to give us a bowl of miso soup on the house. This was basically boiling water with a piece of mushroom and onion floating in it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We ended up having to get the last roll to go because of how long this person took to make four sushi rolls. I have been at Sakura in VB with a packed house and still gotten 7-8 rolls in half the time it took this place to produce one roll. This place is a terrible excuse for a sushi bar and should probably consider a different line of work. Bottom line, if you are in the mood for gas station quality sushi rolls that have been sitting around for a couple days, just go to the gas station, theirs would be better than Sapporo Traditional Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar. The restaurant itself was very rundown and disgusting looking. You could probably find better sushi rolls at Golden Corral or Hometown Buffet.
