This is a solid restaurant! I can't give it five stars because this is not amazing enough to put ahead of others that are my absolute favorite but the few times that we've visited here within the past year and this year it's never busy so there's always a seat for us. The cooks are pretty much uniformed while there is some more interactive than others which is fine especially when I come and I'm hungry I don't like a lot of playing here and there especially when it comes to the rice give me all the rice ASAP:) This is a decent spot if you like Hibachi I believe they have sushi as well that's made fresh. My only side... When you walk in you smell an overwhelming scent of grease/oil in the air. I don't know if it's from the carpet that should be replaced or removed or a better ventilation system is necessary but if you can get past the smell then you should have a great experience. The food is good and you do get a lot! Our last visit we definitely had food to bring home so no complaints there. Plenty of parking as it's located in a shopping center so even if you finish eating and want to walk or continue your night... You can browse around to other shops... Dollar Tree within walking distance or decide to have drinks at the bar located either at the Outback or AJ Gators both within walking distance. Try them out if you're in the area! Plenty of seating. The host was nice. There is a living room like area for waiting. They also have a dining area without the hibachi set up. The entertainment was great. We enjoyed watching him. I had the chicken hibachi. In my opinion, there was not much flavor. Everyone else had the shrimp and scallop hibachi. No complaints except some of the scallops were more chewy and didn't have a nice sear. My cucumber avocado roll was nice and fresh. The soup and salad were flavorful and fresh. Not bad for the price. Keep in mind, there is an 18% service fee. FOR ANY SIZE GROUP. The place is a bit outdated. I'd eat there again , probably. But not a place I'm excited to go back for more. read more

Worst habichi we have ever been to. Save your money. Horrible! Very unsanitary. Look around all the grills. They don't even clean anything but the top of the grill. Every other part appears to have grease and grime from 15 years of not being cleaned. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I tried to leave as soon as we sat down but it was my gf bday. Wow this place was wonderful! My family and I went out to dinner at this lovely restaurant the other night and we really loved the ambience atmosphere! Food is delicious without a doubt, the only thing that caught my husband and I off guard was the automatic 18% gratuity. I understand for parties of 6 or more but for two people is outrageous! The chef we had was amazing and I wish we had tipped him cash before knowing about the gratuity. Two years ago this place would have received 4 stars but the restaurant has really gone down hill since then. The male manager/host was extremely rude to my family and friends. He would not let us finish our thoughts or even listen to what we were trying to say. (This was before the meal) My two year old had to use the restroom and it was totally disgusting. No soap in the dispenser or in the bottle they placed on the sink. Luckily I keep sanitizing wipes in my purse. Then our waitress misunderstood how we wanted our checks. My friend's stepmother politely explained how there was a mistake all to have the same host/manager snatch the check from out of her hand. He's lucky he didn't get a cursing out cause she don't play. The one thing that was a positive was the hibachi chef that provided entertainment and quality skills over the grill. Unfortunately the next day, my daughter woke up vomiting and so did my god son. They both ate the same meal that night. Turns out the chicken nugget and fries meal gave them food poisoning. When I called the owner to let him know that the kid's chicken nugget meal may need to be look at, he barely let me finish what I was conveying and had the nerve to tell me they could have gotten it from somewhere else. NO SIR THEY WERE BOTH THROWING UP FRIES THE NEXT MORNING THAT THEY HAD FROM YOUR NASTY ASS RESTAURANT! That's what I could have said, instead I stayed calm and asked him to let me finish. I advised him to take a look at the food for the meals so no one else's children would have to go through this. He still insisted to talk over me by telling me no one else has gotten sick from the meals. He was quickly hung up on. It breaks my heart bc my god son really want to experience hibachi and this will forever be associated with that experience. The entrance to this restaurant is completely inconspicuous! It looks attached to the Chinese buffet next door. And they're aware of this, so there's a sign to help with the confusion. Sure, it has a typo but you get the gist. There's no buffet here. It's a quaint Japanese hibachi and sushi spot in a shopping center with a Kmart that's going out of business, a bounce house, and the aforementioned Chinese buffet. I created my own roll: yellowtail, red snapper, smoked salmon and cucumber. They were large and scrumptious. Service was speedy. I like this place. I went with my family on Wednesday. I know and understand that the business is lucky to have survived Covid but the service of the owner is horrible. They have printed on the menu about 18% tip automatically but if you tell them you want to do another tip they will take care of it, so I did and told the waitress, the owner said well you have your family here and it will still be the 18% tip. I replied to him you will find a way to make sure you charge me that anyways...his reply was yes!!!! Ok well you literally shorted yourself because I normally tip 20%. Then I was talking to my granddaughter and she was misbehaving and said to her you need to behave or we will go home and she said NO and I said that's it we are going home to get her to behave. The owner again starts yelling at me and then speaking and yelling in Japanese to the waitress and said to me "Are you leaving?!?" I said to him, "I am speaking to my granddaughter I am not even talking to you. I swear I wanted to leave! Then the whole time we had lunch there he glared at us the WHOLE TIME!!!! What a big disappointment! I chose this place because of the mostly positive reviews on the sushi. I live an hour away in the country and I am accustomed to driving A bit of a distance to eat sushi. Stopping in here for lunch and I was the only person dining for the entire length of my visit.. Looks like I should have tried the Chinese buffet next-door. I ordered edamame for an appetizer. My portion was small for the price I paid. Most sushi restaurants I would have gotten double that order for the same price. I ordered two special roles, and order of salmon Nigiri and shiro Magaro. The sushi chef must have gotten my rolls confused with something I did not order because one of my rules was so spicy that I could not eat it and it was nothing like what I ordered; even after I scraped off the spicy topping I could not eat the rest of the sushi underneath. Nowhere on the roll description did it say it would be spicy. My shiro maguro looked old and beat up. The sushi is priced at 4.50 Per two pieces, and the special roles were two for $20. My total bill without tip came to $46.31 for one person at lunch. Way overpriced considering the food is garbage. read more

I went to Japan Samurai last night with my son and we both loved it! I have never been to a Japanese Hibachi Restaurant before and this was a great dining experience. The staff was pleasant and prompt with seating and drink orders and it wasn't long before a Chef appeared and started to put on an amazing show with things flying through the air and flames shooting up from the grill. I loved the flaming volcano that he made with onions. The food was plentiful and delicious. We were served a Miso soup and a small salad with a ginger dressing before the main meal was prepared. I had the Steak and Shrimp and it came with lots of veggies and rice. My son Chris had the Veggie dish and it looked great and he said it was delicious and there was plenty of it. The Manager/Owner refuse to honor the coupon that is offered on Yelp for the restaurant (when you check-in there is coupon to redeem); It is a 15% discount off of Hibachi and Sushi Dinner. The owner told me I would have to be a registered user on Yelp and when I redeem my offer, Yelp will then give me a coupon number to use. I showed him that I was a registered Yelp user (my profile) and As I explained to him that Yelp does not give numbers; you show the Owner/Employee the coupon via your phone and the offer is granted.
