I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Super Ninja. This has always been one of my go-to spots for dinners, birthdays, and special occasions, but after this visit, I will not be coming back. We had a party of 15 people, yet the chef served us what looked like portions meant for a table of 7. I immediately noticed something was off when there were only about 4 eggs used in the fried rice for the entire table completely unreasonable for that many people. When I spoke up, the chef said he couldn't add more eggs because of "cameras," which made no sense. The attached photo shows my plate after he finished cooking and I hadn't even taken a single bite. The portions were clearly inadequate. I brought this to the server's attention, and she got the manager, Sandy. Unfortunately, he was incredibly rude, dismissive, and at one point even laughed at us while we were trying to explain that we weren't getting the correct portions. That alone was beyond disrespectful. He insisted that they "measure 300 pieces of rice per person" and claimed the cook did nothing wrong. I even showed him multiple plates from our table to prove how small the portions were, but he refused to fix it, saying that's what we ordered. To make matters worse, after our meal, I watched the same chef cook for a table of 7 people using the exact same bowl of rice, the same 4 eggs, and the same amount of noodles. That confirmed what we were saying the entire time, we were completely under-served. Paying $35 per meal and ending up with portions like this is unacceptable and it was nowhere near worth the price. When I mentioned that we come here often, the manager tried to dismiss that by saying he had never seen me before. That was honestly insulting. When I asked for a discount, he refused at first, saying he was "only the kitchen manager." It wasn't until I said I would be leaving a review that he offered a small 10% discount and even then, it was only because he admitted the cook was wrong. Overall, this experience was frustrating, disappointing, and embarrassing, especially in front of a large group. I decided on the Super Ninja which included steak, shrimp and chicken and also wanted to try the Sake flight which consisted of Dry, Unfiltered Nigori, Fuji Apple, and Peach Sake. The hibachi chef confirmed our orders before getting started. It's always entertaining to watch them light the grill and put on a show! Our food was prepared fairly quickly and everything tasted pretty good. The steak was more Well Done than Medium, which is what I suggested, but everything else was great and the Sake was very good. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We came for the AYCE sushi but left with a new favorite dish. The mango chicken dish here is the absolute best thing I have had in a long time. I am not typically a fan of "hot fruit" but I tried it and I was hooked. The sushi is great with a few unique twists and the overall quality is amazing. We came for the food but our waitress was very fun and very funny. The food is great but our waitress made the experience of dining here lively and so different than any other AYCE sushi place that I have ever been to. We frequent this restaurant regularly. After tonight probably will not be back. We go for the experience, as well as the food. While waiting for our reserved table, we asked to get beers. Never happened. Bartender told us they had to make drinks first and would get to us when they could. Raise the prices a few bucks and quit cutting back on quality and quantity. Then they automatically added 20% gratuity. Definitely not worth a $52 tip. He said all of his friends were broke so he just wanted adults at his birthday party. LOL From the service to the food everything went exactly as planned, it was an impeccable experience. After I paid the bill, I then realized that if I had checked in on yelp I would have saved some money. I hate it when that happens. I need to remember to always get on Yelp before doing anything. I was just too caught up in the moment. Anyway, I got the same thing I always get and that is the hibachi combo. It includes shrimp, steak and chicken. What a mixed bag. I went here for the first time probably twelve years ago for a military sushi half off special and I remember it was great and the whole group had a wonderful time. Didn't go again though until five years ago and the sushi was great again but the fried chicken nugget/tender/strip whatever meal I ordered for my daughter was terrible. I don't remember what it was but it is memorable that it was like they forgot salt entirely. I've never eaten anything that has the flavor of paper before. We just ordered the other night on a whim and the sushi was wonderful but the two hibachi meals we got were dreadful. The veggies are crazy different sizes and could only be described as clumsy chunks which means some of it cooked and some of it is still quite crunchy. It all just tastes like pepper. I like pepper but it's weird for that to be the only flavor. The meat is also in very strange sizes and quite dry. The kids wouldn't eat it (because it's too peppery). You Honest review of the Nylo Plano Tx Hotel. Booked the King Room with the floor to ceiling windows. Price was right around 175.00 a night. Hotel is relatively new but seems very unfinished. The decor is minimalistic (if that's your style). Exposed concrete everywhere's Checkin was chaotic. Front desk was unable to locate the reservation. Tried to charge me again but that was cleared up with the confirmation email. There is just a really cold feel to the place.
