Super Ninja Hibachi Combo (Steak, Shrimp, Chicken)
Leah J.

I've been wanting to return to Super Ninja for quite some time so we decided to stop in on a Friday evening around 7pm. Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 mins before being seated which I thought was quite a wait considering the restaurant wasn't packed at all. As soon as we were seated, our server took our food and drink order. I decided on the Super Ninja which included steak, shrimp and chicken and also wanted to try the Sake flight which consisted of Dry, Unfiltered Nigori, Fuji Apple, and Peach Sake. The hibachi chef confirmed our orders before getting started. It's always entertaining to watch them light the grill and put on a show! Our food was prepared fairly quickly and everything tasted pretty good. The steak was more Well Done than Medium, which is what I suggested, but everything else was great and the Sake was very good. We sat next to some pretty fun people as well which also made the dinner even better. As we were leaving, they did apologize for the long wait which I thought was very nice. If you're looking for a nice hibachi restaurant, definitely try Super Ninja.

Love this place! They have the best volcano rolls ever. i moved across the country and travel for a living, and have found nothing comparable, and always visit when I come to visit family. Staff is always very friendly, and love the fact that if you want to do all you can eat sushi you can sit right at the bar, and separate hibachi rooms. Affordable all you can eat sushi (at least for me where west coast can be $40-$60 per person)

The staff is friendly and the service is fast. We waited no longer than 10 mins for our food. We did the all you can eat sushi. Everything tasted great! We didn't have to call to get our drinks refilled and the waitress took our empty plates right away.

Our family loves hibachi and this is the place to go for both hibachi and delicious sushi! The chefs are incredible and put on a great show. The rest of the staff is very friendly and attentive. It's a great relaxing, family environment.

We came back again with a bunch of friends in a weekday and decided to do AYCE sushi. We didn't know they had this option. Apparently it's only available on weekdays. They have an extensive menu to order from so we ordered away and everything was so good. The kids sat at another table next to us and they ordered meals from the menu because they can't eat enough for AYCE. The servers were so nice and attentive. We can't wait to go back again! Also if you want a great martini, order the lychee martini. It's sooo good!!!

I have been searching for good hibachi and FINALLY! Stumbled across this place on Friday afternoon. Restaurant was empty, we were greeted and seated right away. Service was great from the server and cook. Loved the fact that they use garlic in their hibachi( not everyone does ) . Appetizer I had gyoza, had the hibachi steak and chicken and my daughter had the salmon and steak. They also do noodles and rice( SCORE) Everything was delicious. I appreciated the acknowledgment of my daughters shellfish allergy and them adjusting accordingly. I also had a Washington Apple Martini and my friend had a Long Island and they were not stingy on the drinks. Overall restaurant was clean and I can tell they are busy at peak hours. This is our new hibachi spot.

Such a fun team dinner!

Such a fun experience for our son's soccer team party! Super Ninja hosted 50 of us at their hibachi tables. Great food, quick and thoughtful service, exciting entertainment. We may need to make this a tradition!

Always always always fun. It's like dinner and a show. I'm like a kid with my eyes wide open when they do their wonderful tricks. I find myself clapping because it's great. My favorite is group participation. The food is always good. Service here is consistently good. We have come to this location ever since they have been open. We usually call ahead for reservations because we usually have a big group. We have also dined on the side without the hibachi. Still good service and good food. You can order off the menu. We have only eaten that way twice. We usually come here for the hibachi

My family and I came here to celebrate my grandfather's 85 birthday. The staff was patient and friendly considering there were a lot of us (25+). They seated us at two stations close to one another, quickly provided us with menus, and took our drink orders. I ordered the Green Ninja Martini. I forgot to take a pic, but the drink was a bit sweet and syrupy. I wish they added more sake. I ended up with only one drink for the night. After the drinks were served, the chef arrived to prepare the food we ordered while giving us a nice show. The food and service were pretty decent. The food is served hot and fresh. Make sure you try their yum yum sauce. I have no idea what it is but it tastes great with everything! I wouldn't mind coming here again whenever I decide to take the trip down south. Overall it was a great experience!

Let's get this Super Ninja show on the road well we checked in and the host directed us to the waiting area. And the clock ticks now I know to be part of a hibachi experience most places will ensure the seating around the table is full soooooo.... I hoping that the food is worth the wait, so I start my beautiful wife ordered filet Mignon, shrimp and chicken, I ordered the chicken and lobster. Well it was worth the wait the vegetables, fried rice even noodles In a teriyaki sauce! Filet Mignon Chicken, Shrimp and lobster were All cooked to perfection there was no shortage of people filtering in and out so obviously the food is the attraction make a stop if your on this side a Virginia Beach you won't be let down the cooks are full of zeal energy and comedy

Both the host and our server were very friendly. The restaurant itself is nice - it has a dark, masculine decor vibe. While I loved the types of chairs they use, I will say their tables for two are very small. They had this little side table type of thing and that was where I had to put my purse and some of the extra dishes to have room. We had the Wyagu Ribeye and the Picahna steak. Both were very good and cooked to perfection. I had the risotto which I didn't feel was cooked right; it had a gummy texture. The Cesar salad was one of the best I've had. I am not sure if their dressing is house made but it was very good and the addition of prosciutto was a nice touch! I also had a Paloma that was very fresh! Now this is supposed to be a steak house and cantina. The decor did give traditional cantina vibes, but the menu did not offer many traditional cantina type foods. If you are looking for cantina style dishes, you may find yourself disappointed. We did do the guacamole though, and it was just OK I'd say. Would I come back? For the steak and salad yes. Otherwise it was a little underwhelming to the price!

Cobalt Grille was next--you guessed it, they were closed too. We drove around and stumbled upon Gaston's. Not being able to eat at those other restaurants was the BEST thing that could have happened to us that day! The ambiance and the gentle vibe you get when you walk in this place is palpable. And the food lives up to the ambiance too. My party haslamb chops, cowboy steak, asparagus and a myriad of sides that came with these meals. I heard lots of "oohs" and "this is delicious" from my family. Unfortunately, I am a vegan and the choices were virtually nonexistent for me--but in Gaston's defense, they are an Italian steakhouse (they never said they catered to vegans). This evening was for the birthday girl--and she loved lamb chops. Simply put, this restaurant exceeded her expectations.

We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Before ordering, I actually spoke with the owner, Gaston, because I wanted his recommendation for the best steak on the menu. He confidently recommended the Cowboy Ribeye, assuring me that it was one of their signature steaks. I ordered it medium rare with a little char, exactly the way I enjoy it. I also asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes and broccoli for another side since I don't eat either of those. I was told substitutions were not allowed. For a $60 steak, I found that disappointing. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant--just a different vegetable or a simple side salad. When my steak arrived, it was much smaller than I expected for the price and didn't resemble the Cowboy Ribeye I was anticipating. It was cooked slightly over medium rare, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor was only average and had a slightly off taste, almost as if the broiler hadn't been cleaned recently. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and broccoli I had specifically asked to leave off the plate were served anyway. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled everything professionally and even apologized for the sides, explaining the kitchen had plated them before she could stop it. The chicken scallopini ordered by someone else in our party was very good, and the other chicken entrées were also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I came for the steak, and that's where the experience fell well short of expectations. At this price point, I expected a high-quality cut of beef, some flexibility with side dishes, and an overall experience that matched the cost. Instead, it felt like every effort was made to minimize portions and avoid accommodating a simple request. I always try to support local restaurants, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But when you're paying premium prices, the food should reflect it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend the steaks here.

The ambiance was nice, the open kitchen with the wood fire hearth right at the entrance added a warm cozy feel from the onset. The restaurant was warmly lit but not dark. We were seated immediately in the far left dining area in an elevated booth. After reviewing the menu we settled on the fried deviled eggs and wood fire oysters for starters and the Vincent Vega pizza for dinner. Fried deviled eggs was a first for us and it was so good! The egg white was breaded very lightly and fried and the egg yolk was piped on top with a piece of smoky delicious bacon goodness. It had a nice smoky, bacon-y taste and we devoured them. I only wish you got more than 2 pieces. I think 4 pieces would be better for the price considering it's essentially one egg but I'm not complaining. The wood fire oysters was another hit for us, the serving came with 6 half shell oysters topped with breadcrumbs (light), swimming in butter and fire roasted. I think we ate these even faster than the deviled eggs lol! Would definitely get these again. The pizza also did not disappoint. If you like bacon, mushrooms and creamy Boursin cheese, you'll love this pizza. We added crushed red pepper flakes which added a nice kick. The crust is the star of the show; thin, crispy but still has body and slightly chewy. Yum! That wood fire hearth definitely makes a difference. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! The staff were also very nice and friendly.

For entrees I got the lamb chops with risotto and she crab soup. The lamb was very tender but the flavor was lacking. It was also luke warm. The she crab soup was good but too salty. The owner also acknowledged that as well. The risotto was okay. Nothing special. My husband got the grilled bronzino and broccolini. I tried some and I liked the taste but he said it could have used more flavor. Broccolini was steamed and I wish they had grilled it instead. The bread pudding was the star of the entire meal. It was made of donuts. It was moist, sweet, and delicious. Drinks: We got a bottle of champagne and two cocktails. Drinks were all very good Service: This is probably why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 3. The service was very good. First, let me say the service was absolutely TOP TIER! The staff was attentive, friendly, and the overall atmosphere definitely gave that elevated dining experience. I don't mind paying for a fine dining experience as long as the food matches the experience. We started with the crab dip appetizer, and honestly it was solid. Definitely a good appetizer choice. For drinks, I kept it simple with a tequila sunset and substituted pineapple juice for orange juice a good drink! Now for the meals. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. I hate to even say this because I had such high hopes, but the lamb chops lacked seasoning for me. I ordered them medium, but they were definitely more medium rare. I love a medium rare ribeye, but not so much with lamb chops. The mashed potatoes and green beans were decent, but overall needed a little more flavor. My husband had the Butcher's Burger with wedges. He said it was a solid burger, slightly overcooked, but still good overall. He did enjoy the different flavor the pork belly added. My daughter ordered the Pasta Pescatore and said it was good, but not necessarily an "oh my goodness, I have to come back for this" type of dish. Overall, because so many people told me I would LOVE The Butcher's Son, I think my expectations were extremely high. Hubby and I were thrilled because one is opening near our home outside of Charlotte, NC. Make reservations! This place was packed and we quickly figured out why. Everything is so good. We didn't quite figure out the "lay of the land" but there appeared to be a designated place for tasting that was packed. We enjoyed looking at the "wine toys" while we waited for our table. There are sooooo many unique things that I can't wait to purchase from a location closer to us when it opens; traveling with glass didn't seem too smart. Our server was great and I wish I knew her name to shout her out. Ask to sample any wine you're curious about. And let me say... the sampling pours are more than just a sip. I was astonished! I chose the red flight as rendered. Everything was good. I'm not a fan of Spanish reds and should have substituted that one. Next time! They are so conscientious about food allergies and preferences that you can customize everything (except the jambalaya). I already knew before arriving (because I look at menus ahead of time) that I was getting the scallop and shrimp risotto, especially after I learned I could have it without the disgusting peas and asparagus (but with extra spinach.... From the start, our server led with a very hard push for the wine club. I was genuinely considering joining, but the service that followed made me reconsider entirely. Throughout the meal, there were long stretches -- often 10 to 15 minutes -- where he did not check on us at all. Our reservation was for 1:15 PM, yet we were not seated until 1:30 PM, and ultimately did not leave until 3:30 PM. Unfortunately, this extended visit was not due to a leisurely dining experience, but because we were consistently waiting for our server, who appeared more focused on bussing surrounding tables than attending to ours. Empty glasses sat for 20 minutes at a time, and there was no anticipation of our needs. When I finally approached a supervisor, she apologized and offered to get refills immediately. She returned with the wrong drinks, and we did not see her again for the remainder of the meal. After it became clear that we were dissatisfied, our server seemed to withdraw even further, limiting conversation and interaction. At no point were we rude or disrespectful -- we simply wanted the level of service Cooper's Hawk is known for. It took another 20 minutes just to have our table cleared, followed by an additional 10-20 minutes before we were asked about dessert or offered the check. This was especially disappointing because some members of our party were visiting from out of town and had never experienced Cooper's Hawk before. We were celebrating a new addition to the family, and instead of enjoying the occasion, much of our time was spent waiting for basic service.

Came here to check out this newly opened restaurant, and unfortunately I can't come back with the…read moreprice and taste of the food. P.S: The server and host were attentive and nice, so the low rating is entirely for the food. My bf and I ordered a truffle fries to share, I ordered the Braveheart Ribeye with broccolini and risotto(forgot what flavor but it was cooked in a cream sauce), and my bf ordered the Ribeye Lasagna. The truffle fries: the fries tasted fresh but they looked like the b-dub fries. Comes with ketchup, which I was hoping for some sort of aioli for an upscale chophouse. The Braveheart Ribeye: The temperature was what I asked for(medium rare), but the char is straight up crispy brunt and bitter as if I'm eating charcoal pieces. I also ordered a demi glaze on the side, and that tasted and looked like some McCormick sauce. No demi-glaze flavor and the color is transparent like those powdered gravy packets. The broccolini was bitter. They were tucked under the steak so maybe the brunt from the steak went onto the broccolini... The risotto was creamy but they were undercooked cuz they were still hard. My bf said his Ribeye Lasagna just tasted like a normal lasagna like he couldn't tell the difference of normal beef and the "ribeye meat" that they used, but it was a big size and the sauce was pretty good so he thinks it's worth the money. The creme brulee... I have this tradition with my bf which we will order a creme brulee(if the restaurant provides) during our first visit. I'm no Michelin creme brulee reviewer, but I'd say I tried and made enough creme brulee to identify what a standard and good creme brulee is, and unfortunately this just ain't one. The flame on top is a cool gimmick but it melts the supposedly crispy top to a little too soft (we waited for about 5 mins after the flame was gone before eating it). The texture of the creme was NOT creme brulee but more like flan, when the creme should've been more of a custard/solid but creamy like texture. We were told their creme brulee has a little orangey-taste to it, but the orangey taste just totally covers the flavor of creme brulee. All we could taste was a bitter orange flan. Although my bf likes his lasagna, we both agreed that for this price we would've expected better tasting food. I have no doubt that the ingredients they used were high quality, but this is just not gonna go nowhere when you don't have the right chef to cook them.
