Santuari is truly a hidden gem in Burbank. We had a lovely dinner lecture at this location and it was my, and many of the other people's first time visiting with many mentioning they didn't even know Santuari was inside. Santuari is located inside the Toluca Lake Tennis / Fitness Club and all the parking signs are for the club so this was initially confusing but upon entering staff is ready and waiting to guide you into Santuari. The space we were in is huge and beautiful decorated with some gorgeous hanging lights, and one wall is all window so you can see out onto the Tennis courts people who are playing, but the walls are pretty sound proof because we couldn't hear anything from outside and were able to hear the lecture quite easily. Our dinner was buffet style including hummus, pita bread, chicken, steak, salad, and mashed potatoes. All the food was amazing, literally melt in your mouth meat (I tried both the chicken and the steak). It is really nicely decorated and there is a lot of space between tables which makes it easy to move and walk not like some restaurants which there is not enough room to move. Absolute must try! Ordered the shrimp beignets and the tuna tartare to start. Shrimp beignets were crispy but the batter lacked flavor, the delicious white dipping sauce made up for it. The tuna tartare tasted very fresh and it had the most delicate hint of sesame seed oil and soy sauce. We shared the bone in rib eye steak (requested a medium, but it was slightly overcooked). The steak was well seasoned and came with grilled asparagus and 2 freshly baked pieces of bread and it was garnished with a rosemary stalk. The sides of chimichurri sauce and the spicy horseradish dressing gave more depth and flavor to the steak. Added a side of carrots to complement our dinner. The carrots were unbelievably delicious: caramelized and served on a creamy base. The pieces of bread tasted similar to a dutch pannenkoeken, light and fluffy with a subtle buttery taste. Amazing. The service from all the staff was very attentive. Sean checked on us a few times and made sure we were having an enjoyable evening. He also went over some of the chefs methods and how they select consciously sourced ingredients. Los Angeles isn't short of impressive locales: be it the beauty of nature, fantastic architecture, impressive art or gorgeous restaurants - we have it all! When it comes to the 'gorgeous restaurants' part of that list; there are certainly many to choose from whether for a hot date, celebrating a birthday or professional achievement or simply treating yourself for being alive. One of these places is Santurai in the Hollywood Hills/Burbank cusp. Named LA's "Most Transporting Restaurant"; Santurai deserves the accolade so let's be transported together... Santurai is located on Forest Lawn in the back lot area of Warner Bros and Universal studios near Griffith Park making it an unexpected retreat especially as it is connected to a tennis/racket club with a parking lot populated with people with gym bags. But this brief discomfort is worth it when you feast your eyes on the beautiful mansion/almost castle-like exterior of Santurai. The lobby which boasts high ceilings, tile, and a grand piano immediately drops jaws but trust me - this is just the beginning! If you aren't already impressed, you will be once you see the dining area. Santurai has both a patio area and various indoor rooms (the outdoor patio is adjacent to the tennis courts so I would suggest interior for full ambiance) and is so gorgeous that I can't choose the proper verbiage to do it justice. Mediterranean arches, neutral colors, a fire place, booths, tables with rattan seating, French doors, windows galore, exposed beams and bricks... it is an interior design HEAVEN! Sadly, the waiter informed me that Santurai is being remodeled soon from head to toe. What?! WHY?! IT IS MAGNIFICANT! I don't see why you would change something so stunningly appealing but maybe it is becoming even MORE glam? We shall see... The menu at Santurai is Mediterranean-inspired and isn't overly extensive (one page, front only) and is admittedly high-end so be prepared to spend moolah. The wine/cocktail/spirits list offers much more in terms of selections if that's your thing. Everything on Santurai's menu sounds elegant but the only bummer for this Celiac gal is that there are few dishes that are gluten-free. BOO! Despite this, my dining partner and I were able to make some choices. For our wine we chose a bottle of Paitin Barbesco from Italy ($120) but we were sadly informed that they were out. However, they suggested an equal in substitution with a discount. The "It isn't available" theme continued as a couple items on the menu weren't available either (and for the record, we were the very first guests and arrived to an empty restaurant so it wasn't at the end of the evening). What is going on here?! For our meal, we chose Steak Tartare as a starter (grilled sour dough crostini w/ gruyere cheese, filet mignon, chives, shallots - $26) while my dining partner went with the Diver Scallops (applewood smoked bacon, little potatoes, lemon - $24) for his main dish. As for me, I went with the Whole Grilled Branzino (Melted leeks, fennel & dill emulsion, charred lemon - $43). To begin, the wine substitution was fantastic and a wonderful choice: I didn't even miss our initial selection. But it is the food that was pure art. Honey, these dishes belong in a museum! And the flavors? Good lord, they were perfection! The Steak Tartare was served in a bowl with no skimping on portion size and topped with edible flower petals. It was divine! I could eat this every day and not grow tired of it. I even took a bite of the cheesy crostini as I couldn't refrain from its gooey-goodness despite my Celiac. The Diver Scallops (two jumbo scallops) came in a hot skillet surrounded by flowers and four little potatoes. I could say the portion is small but this is expected at these high-end places. The scallops were buttery-soft and even the potatoes were heavenly. But my Whole Grilled Branzino is where it's at! Don't worry the head isn't present (although the tail is) and was some of the best fish I've ever consumed. The leeks were tasty and caramelized and the emulsion was a great pairing. Exquisite! Every single staff member at Santurai is at the top of their game being both friendly and chic but not stuck-up. This place genuinely has great service. Extra shout out to Sam (I think his name was) because he's a cutie! Although Santurai is not perfect (very expensive, unavailable items, hardly any gluten free choices); it is a MUST-TRY as it is more than dining; and is an entire experience (which is why I still give it 5 starts). We absolutely love this restaurant so much, that my husband and I have thought about getting a membership so we can get to see everything the property has to offer! Let's start with the aesthetic... GORGEOUS! You feel high class just stepping foot inside the restaurant. We have come several nights and sometimes they have live music! It really is such an elegant place. Next up, the food. There hasn't been anything that I've tried that I wasn't in love with. My favorite are the seafood items on the menu because they come out so fresh and crisp. The restaurant was very generous with their pours and the kitchen staff did an amazing job with presentation and with the pairings for each type of tequila. I've been going to this club for tennis matches and I've only had great experiences! The front desk is always so friendly and the place has a nice little charm to it. They have a decent sized parking lot. When it's busy, you'll have to double park and if you're blocking someone, you gotta give your car keys up to concierge, but it's no biggie. The courts are always very well maintained and decent availability! They also have water dispensers on every court which is a nice little pro :) Court 1 even has a nice view for spectators as there are tables behind it and also a balcony on the side of it as well! read more

I made reservations Sunday evening for two on Open Table. The restaurant called an hour before to confirm my reservation. Once my friend and I arrived we were greeted by the hostess immediately. We were seated at one of the booths which we appreciated a lot. Very comfortable and nice. Even though they had a few nice cocktails on the menu we chose a bottle of rose. The decor is so elegant with Morrocan vibes emanating all throughout. We had a great table next to the fireplace which was very nice on a cold winter night. Been to Santuari many times over the years and every time I've walked away impressed. Was there for DineLA this time for their Prix Fixe menu. We started with the Albacore Crudo and Seared Diver Scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly, like perfectly seasoned pillows going into your mouth. The Crudo was so flavorful with a nice juxtaposition between the pineapple ponzu and the chili crisp. For entrees, we choose the steak Frites and the salmon. The salmon has a great crisp on the skin with the addition of bacon... can never go wrong adding begin to a meal. The steak Frites was cooked well and the three peppercorn sauce brought it so to life. For dessert they offered the Maple Pot de Creme, which was not overly sweet and delightful on the palate , as well as the Tres Leches, which was very most and pushed week with the coconut rum and caramelized pineapple. As for drinks, we tried the Every Rose and the Barb. Honestly, I'm always impressed with their cocktails. The flavor profiles and balance is exceptional. This place is STUH-NING! While tucked away by the Toluca Tennis Club, once you enter the doors it feels like you've stepped into another world. Came in with a friend on a Thursday evening. It was DineLA week and since it was both of our first times, we opted to do their DineLA menu. We did the 4 course set: I got the farmer's market salad to start, the yellowtail tartare for the second course, the braised short rib for the third and the tres leches cake for dessert. The salad was incredible -- perfectly dressed and had the right amount of light vinaigrette dressing. The charred avocado looked to be more like an avocado with Tajin on it, but I was not mad at it. It was super tasty and really complimented the fresh and light flavors of the salad. The yellowtail tartare was light and each bite packed a nicely salted punch with salmon roe and tiny potato chips. The braised short rib was meaty and hearty, and the caramelized onions on top paired very well. The tres leches cake was very unique -- you really can't go wrong with tres leches, and this one was no exception. The caramelized pineapple gave a different sweet component to the dish and I could definitely taste a hint of the coconut rum, which was a nice touch! Parking is fairly easy -- there's a small lot that can get packed quickly as well as street parking along Forest Lawn Dr. Definitely make a reservation; super easy to make on OpenTable. Their outdoor seating, while nothing specail, is a great option for brunch. They make great cocktails at their tiny bar. What a beautiful place! Santauri is tucked away in Burbank on the other side of Warner Brothers, a little off the beaten path. This place is fantastic for a romantic night out or a special event. The inside is beautiful and has a relaxing, modern Mediterranean vibe. Even just walking into this place you feel like you have been transported elsewhere. They have both inside and outside dining areas. The green room is gorgeous! Food here is beautifully presented and DELICIOUS! I decided to celebrate my 30th birthday here and I think it was the best decision to try this restaurant out. The service was impeccable- everyone was really sweet to my girlfriends and I. It was the perfect dinner with my girls. They held my cake till the end and brought it out with candles after out last course. I ordered the eggplant and it was AMAZING. I didn't think eggplant could ever be so flavorful. I mean, the French fries were perfect. And I know it's hard to mess up French fries, but their fries were taken to the NEXT level. I have driven by this location many times so it's been on my list to try for a few months now and last night I finally got the opportunity to dine for dinner and had a very nice experience. They only offer a three course prefix menu for $65 (or 4 course for $75) and tip is already included into the bill @ 20%. There was a very large corporate event in the back of the restaurant which is very large, bright, and open with a Mediterranean style to it. It's also right next-door to the Toluca Lake Tennis Club so it's actually a very busy property. They have a small parking lot directly in front as well as an overflow lot next to it, but we saw many diners just doing street parking. Our server was very polite and their menu has many options. The portions are very large as well so that was a pleasant surprise. I ended up choosing two items from the second course menu and one from the third course. To start I had the tagliatelle which was very tasty and mixing the egg into it was my favorite part. Next came my favorite dish of the night which was the gazpacho. They included some snow crab claws and large watermelon pieces so it was definitely a unique and delicious version of one of my favorite soups. For my entrée I chose the short ribs which was very good as well, and a very large portion. I wish it came with a stew on the bottom or a side but still it was very good. Overall a really nice experience and definitely some place that is geared toward celebrating, but it could be used for a business function as well because it is very large on the inside and can accommodate very large groups. The wine and mixed cocktails were great. The roasted carrot appetizer with whipped feta was amazing. The albacore crudo was good but I wouldn't get it again- a bit too simple for me. The entrees are smaller portions than I am used too so if you are really hungry make sure to get appetizers. For our entrees we had the chefs special - king crab fettuccini. The tres leches was so good with the pineapple topping. We arrived after a 30 minute drive from the Hollywood Hills hungry and excited for great meal. The first thing we were not prepared for was that the restaurant (which looked cool from the outside) is attached to a tennis club and our outdoor patio seating was a table for two up against a glass partition that allowed us to watch a young child and his mom play tennis, and very, very poorly at that. That was odd for a restaurant that presents itself as very high-end. The restaurant was empty for a 6 o'clock reservation on a Friday night, which should've been the first tipoff. They presented us with a menu and a happy hour menu. After deciding on a few apps from happy hour menu to start with, they came back and told us that we couldn't order from happy hour menu without sitting at the bar. Well, then why give us a happy hour menu? The two appetizers we had, the roasted carrots and the shrimp beignets were OK but certainly not worth the price charged. For entrees, my wife ordered the roasted chicken and I ordered the steak Frites. The roasted chicken was certainly not roasted and lacked any skin crispness. It was also slathered and some kind of Roni mojo sauce. My steak frites was very small and not cooked well. The side of cheesy potatoes was very good however! We returned hers and got a chicken fried mushroom entrée instead, which was definitely better than the first but not worthy of our expectations. I'd probably say the drinks and cheesy potatoes were the High Point of the meal, but outside of that it was very disappointing. Dinner Ended up costing us over $210 with the tip and was not nearly worth it. For now, I would rate this a skip, and hopefully they can improve upon themselves. Santuari is an absolutely beautiful venue and my highlights were the dessert and drinks. I enjoyed a lovely weeknight dineLA dinner with a friend and I ordered: Farmer's Market Salad Lamb Ragout Braised Short Rib Tres Leches Cake and enjoyed an incredible cocktail with beets Food: I rate the food 3 - 4. The Ragout was served with buttermilk cavatelli pasta that was not cooked al dente, I'm not a fan of pasta that is cooked beyond al dente and I didn't enjoy the pasta as much as I hoped. The short rib was very underseasoned and could have been braised longer to the fall part consistency that I was expecting. The short rib still had quite a bit. The Tres Leches was a delicious dessert and delicious with the chantilly cream and pineapple. Overall, the food here was good but just need a bit more to take it to the brink of fantastic. Ambience: Absolutely beautiful especially with the sanctuary/morrocan architectural details. The space is absolutely beautiful. Bottom Line: Love the ambience and I would come back for dessert and drinks. read more

Decided to try out Santuari for Dine LA, wasn't sure what to expect. Would always see this restaurant lit up at night and the outside looks so beautiful with the lights. We decided to do the 3 course menu for $55 per person. I had chosen the Endive Caesar to start, the Roasted Cauliflower second, and the Salmon as my main. The presentation of each dish was wonderful and the timing of the courses was perfect. I liked the flavors of each dish but did note that the red curry in the cauliflower wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The buttermilk sauce for the salmon was a tad lacking in flavor as well. I still enjoyed everything. The ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful. Inside was a little loud, so we were glad that we chose to sit outside. It was definitely more intimate. There were heaters to keep us warm as well. The restaurant is located inside the Toluca Lake Tennis and Fitness Club, so parking was a bit confusing in their lot, but that made for nice architecture and great service. Would definitely come again to try regular dishes outside of Dine LA. read more

To start off this place is literally beautiful. It has a gorgeous lobby/front desk area which we actually enjoyed waiting in for about 5-10 mins before getting seated (we did have a prior reservation and it is recommended). The food was also really really good. The menus are season and so some items change throughout the year. During our visit they also had a pre-fixe "LA Dine in" menu that was $55 for 3 courses and $65 for 4. They even allowed one member of our party to order a la carte and another the pre fixe which is super convenient since most places wouldn't allow this. Drinks were also really really good, we tried the rose drink with whiskey and didn't need to try anything else. Overall, food was a nice 9/10 and ambiance was a 10/10. I needed to write a separate paragraph for the service because it was truly phenomenal. I mean there was a waiter who would atop by literally every 5 mins to fill our water glasses. All the waiters knew everything about their menu and had all the knowledge needed to give us a spectacular experience. Service 11/10. read more

Santuari is a very elegant beautiful restaurant. The menu offers various different items each having a different twist to them. I enjoy restaurants that change there menu often because I like trying the new items they offer. The service was great. Our waiter answered all our questions and even gave us his recommendations. For alcohol I really enjoyed the cocktail I ordered it was with plum and it was sweet just how I like it. I recommend starting with the albacore crudo. Albacore was fresh the sauce was citrusy and very tasty. For the main I ordered the pan roasted branzino and it was amazing. The flavors were perfect it was so soft it melted in my mouth. Cant wait to return and try their new items. read more

We came here on Christmas eve and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. We were seated near the Christmas tree. The wait staff was very courteous and kind. It wasn't like other restaurants--when you have a server assigned to you, the other staff seam to ignore you altogether. Not at this restaurant; anytime a staff member walked by and saw that we needed more water or another drink, a person would ask if they could get us anything. That made it a very outstanding experience. Plus, there were no bad apples when it came to the people working at Santuari. From the hostess stand to the people on the floor, everyone was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Mary's Half Chicken and it was wonderful. The lemon and mustard jus on the chicken and root vegetables made it divine. Everything was made to perfection. I also had a Farmer's Market Salad and it was good. No complaints from our party. I haven't been this impressed by a new restaurant experience in quite some time. From my initial call with Rebecca when making our reservation , the beautiful welcome when we arrived , one of the most amazing meals prepared by Chef Seth Greenberg and surprise birthday dessert specially crafted. I was absolutely thrilled by my first experience here at Santuari! Our server, Ariella pulled everything together to truly make this one of the most memorable nights. Fabulous new curated meals and deals (get on their mailing list or check out their social media for updates) *Safe curb side pick up *EASY to order online menu *My friend LOVED his pork shoulder (I saw him eating it and it looked so tender!!) , with garlic mashed potatoes and apple slaw....oh and corn bread. *I loved my gem salad (with their amazing anchovie dressing) and home made fries. Restaurant included all necessary sauces to make the experience stellar, even from home. *The food was HOT and beautifully plated in 'to go' containers that I can wash and re-use; None of that gross Styrofoam containers. *We also ordered their signatures cocktails (Only $10 each!) that are provided in cute little re-suable bottles with their bespoke 'Santuari' sticker on it for the restaurant experience. Just pour into a cup of ice and voila!
