This place had good ratings so so popped in for lunch. It was AWFUL! All 3 of us were grossed out. We eat legit Greek and Mediterranean food frequently and this was the worst place we've tried. The pita was dry and stale to the point it was breaking into pieces. The wraps barely had anything in them as far as veg and sauce. The fries were stale and had zero seasoning and weren't edible. Greek places usually have really good fries. The omelette was browned on the outside and unseasoned. The cheese used inside wasn't good. There's $40 we wasted. They brought out complimentary Bernie's and they were hard and didn't taste fresh so we didn't eat but 1. We will not go back. This was beyond a bad day. Good wasn't good. We tried 3 different meals. BEST GREEK FOOD IN AUSTIN!!! Guys seriously. I just came back from Greece a month ago and I was really craving gyros. We came on a rainy day, there weren't any cars out. When we went in, the inside was super cozy and had so much personality. Prices were great and the people were the sweetest! I believe it's a family owned place. We got chicken gyros and oh my it was so good. At the end they gave us free beignet (dessert!) it was so good! I've never had it before but it was so yummy. My boyfriend loved it so much he even got another to take home tonight, with that order they even tossed in free beignets! They were so sweet and it truly felt like Greece hospitality! We went here for the first time and had a wonderful experience! The service was great, a father and daughter were working and they were both very friendly and attentive. The food was some of the best Greek I've had in Austin! The lamb was cooked perfectly, moist, but nice and seared around the edges, and the tzatziki was perfect. My go to place to really get some pita that actually serves on a pita not on a wrap. The place is a little pricey but I think it is worth the price. My husband and I were looking for a nice lunch place while we were in Austin. Our dining choices are pretty limited in our home town, so we wanted something different. We found Santonini Cafe and had a lovely experience. The staff was welcoming and helpful, especially since it was our first visit. We ordered our food and sat at one of the tables by the window. The atmosphere is laid back and feels very Mediterranean. When our food arrived, it was amazing. My husband got a lamb plate and I had the lamb gyro. There was a ton of food (we had enough to take home and have another meal!). But the best thing was the flavour and quality of everything. It was fresh and delicious. The salad was crisp and lightly dressed with vinegar and oil. The pitas were warm and soft. The lamb was incredibly tender and tasty. The tzatziki was tart and creamy. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch and enjoyed talking with the staff. We totally enjoyed the complimentary Greek beignets! I love Greek food, so I was excited to check out this restaurant. The unassuming exterior of the restaurant opens up to a cozy, homey feel inside. Order at the counter,and then pick a table where you want to sit. They have a nice selection of appetizers, mains, and salads, with plenty of drink options (non-alcoholic & alcoholic). I got the lamb plate, and everything on it was delicious. I especially loved the grape leaves--I would totally eat a whole plateful by themselves! The spinach and cheese pies were also really tasty, but be careful when you bite into them because they were really hot inside when they were served. Also, I'm not sure if they do this on the regular, but we were given complimentary "beignets" (not pictured) with the meal. They were little fried dough pieces with cinnamon and syrup--not sure if I'd ever order these by themselves, but it was an appreciated meal-ending treat. A small, unique restaurant with delicious food. I came here tonight for dinner and ordered the lamb steak plate. There was plenty of meat to eat. The salad and sauce went well with the pita bread. You order at the counter, and they bring you your food when it is ready. The service was good, and the server was friendly. It's not a fancy restaurant but it is clean with some nice pictures hanging on the wall. They do offer take-out and have alcoholic beverages. There is ample parking as well. I ordered a large Greek salad with the feta cheese on the side and it was the most refreshing giant bowl of goodness I have had in a while. Staff was also incredibly friendly, constantly checking in on us and we got 3 free small plates of beignet - she brought the first one and I inhaled it in seconds so she brought another, which we slowly ate after lunch and then she brought a 3rd before we were done and we had to take it home because we were so full lol. The restaurant was clean, quiet and just very pleasant. You do have to order at the counter and get your own drink but the quality of the food and service makes it a worthwhile experience. Close to home and homey! The folks in there are so nice and generous. I went with a friend for lunch one day in July and it was great, We were treated like royalty. We had the falafel platter, the appetizers platter with baba ganush, dolma, spinach pie and moussaka. It was really good. Then they gifted dessert which was really cool. It was in a fairly industrial area, surrounded by auto repair shops and a few other divey restaurants in a make-shift shopping center. The only reason we ended up here is because I saw it on a Top 100 list and we were headed to Round Rock for the weekend. On our way, we decided to stop for lunch and this wasn't too far from our destination. I opted to order a gyro with lamb meat. My biggest pet peeve is when the lamb in a gyro tastes super gamey, but this did not have even the slightest hint of that. It was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. When I have a craving for a gyro, this is what I fantasize about in my mind. The Top 100 spot is well-deserved. We were a bit let down by the Greek beignets, but the gyro was so amazing that I couldn't give anything other than a fat 5-stars for this gem of a place. read more

Pretty simple menu of standard Americanized Greek selections. Very friendly staff (maybe they are family?). Decent prices. We tried the lamb gyro with Greek salad and each had iced tea. The tea was displacing.. a gold peak dispenser and the tea had a chemical taste so we dumped it and did soda. The food, on the other hand. Was served quickly and the gyro was nice and warm and the salad was cold and crisp. Delicious Greek salad and really good gyro meat and pita and what seemed to be a house made tzatziki. After we were done they brought us complimentary dessert. It looked like little fried donut holes with some kind of honey sauce. It looked good, but it wasn't. The dough was sour and chewy. So.. on a grading scale.. A+ on the actual menu food and service. C in beverage quality and D on the complimentary dessert. I'd go back for a gyro or salad anytime.. but skip the tea. read more

SO GOOD!! we always pass by santorini and finally came for dinner. everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly. there's a good handful of parking spots. inside looks so homey with the furniture and decor. we each ordered the Lamb Gyro and a side of fries. The Greek Beignets were given on the house. The gyro was packed with meat! I loved the texture of the pita break - slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Santorini Cafe is the perfect lunch spot if you work in the Domain area! They have a ton of outdoor seating and a few tables inside as well. I came around noon on a Tuesday and there was no wait to order, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered: - Hummus and Pita (5/5): Normally I don't like hummus that much, but I actually liked this one! - Lamb Gyro (6/5): This was the best lamb gyro I've ever had, and I'm not even a lamb person. The meat was perfectly tender and served in a lightly toasted, fluffy pita. Every gyro is served with a side salad dressed in a tasty vinaigrette. - Beignets (5/5): I'm not sure if it's for every order, but the staff brought us a complimentary plate of their beignets at the end of our meal! They are denser than the beignets I've had before, with a slightly chewy texture almost like a mochi donut. They're topped with a bit of honey and aren't too sweet. The one critique I have is I wish they had a better way to manage the flies in the outdoor area. It was a little annoying swatting them away while trying to eat. Obviously that's just something you have to expect when eating outside in Austin during the Summer though! Overall, this is a great spot for lunch on a weekday!
