    lemon sorbet and chocolate gelato
    Arnel E.

The shop was very clean which surprised us with our previous experiences with other gelato or ice cream shops. Prices were a bit pricey for the standard fare. A small cup (two flavors though) costs €3.90 each. Similar sizes allover Europe would set us back €2 to €2.50. They weren't making pistachio since September which was a bummer since that was my wife's choice everytime. I got my lemon sorbet and dark chocolate combo. The staff were fast and friendly. The shop, well, was super clean.

Creamy, dreamy, gelato made with fresh real ingredients served by nice staff in a bright atmosphere -- I will return again and again!! You can taste the real fruit in the strawberry and mango!! Definitely try the Marabunta-- their famous flavor-- cream with pieces of dark chocolate!!

Delicious creamy gelato. Ended up going twice. Loved the coconut, mango and strawberry the best.

Pistachio and passion fruit gelato. This was a medium- the serving was a little tiny even compared to European standards.

Nice gelato and great service. The staff were friendly and efficient. I liked the gelato flavors that I got, which were pistachio and passion fruit. It did the job, since I had been walking for hours and wanted a treat. The gelato flavors were not intense or overly sweet. Was it the best gelato I have ever had-no, but if you are in the area and looking for a treat, this is your stop.

Begun by Italian immigrant Attilio Santini in 1949 Gelados Santini now inhabits six storefronts from Chiado to Porto, and although some will suggest world-class quality the reality is that the product is merely average while service is perfunctory. Originally in Praia do Tamariz, and now under the ownership of Eduardo Santini, it is in an area of high foot traffic that guests are invited to duck in for cup or cone, scoops rather than spatulas packing dense balls of Dulce de Leche and Fig with bits of ground Fruit.

I came here for dessert one night and the line was pretty long but it moved quickly. They make you pay for your gelato before you choose your flavors. A cone is an extra fee with your gelato, but a cup is free. I got three flavors: hazelnut, caramel, and marabunta. Hazelnut was good and tasted exactly like nutella. Caramel was a little too seeet for me. Marabunta is the unique flavor created by Santinis. It is basically cream gelato with chocolate shavings. This was definitely my favorite flavor of the three. This store is centrally located by all the shops so it is definitely worth a quick stop for some refreshing gelato!

Small shop serving very high-quality gelato at reasonable prices located in Chiado district of Lisbon. A local guide recommended this place for the best gelato in Lisbon and we decided to give them a try one evening for dessert. The founder was Italian and brought his skills to Portugal after WWII. The small colorful shop in Chiado in back of H&M offers around 20 luscious flavor. NOTE: pay first at the register- around 3,80€ for small (up to 2 different flavors). I tried the raspberry and the vanilla while my wife got chocolate and peanut flavors. Everything was fresh and creamy. You can choose a cup or cone. There is plenty of seating in the store from benches to tables. There was even a couple of street singers outside the store adding to the ambience when we were there. Definitely worth seeking out-they also have a shop in the Market Time out.

This is the best gelato I've ever had. I come every day when I'm in Portugal. So many good flavors that I always have a hard time deciding. I always recommend to friends if I know they're coming for a visit! Come to the states plz!!

Given you run into a thousand gelaterias while walking around Lisbon, I'm so glad we walked into this one! The store wasn't too busy when we popped by so we really had time to try some flavors out! Usually with gelato flavors, I like to stick to things that are a little less sweet or those that are more fruity. I ultimately went with the stracciatella and the coffee/espresso that they had but was able to sample some of the fruity flavors before that! Each flavor was perfect, light, and not too creamy. In fact, the fruit flavors had this brightness to them that was really refreshing! I was ultimately really happy with the two flavors I chose -- neither was too rich or heavy and the perfect snack for a warm, sunny afternoon. If I find myself back in Lisbon sometime soon (I hope so!), I'll definitely make my way back here. Try it out!

Despite the crowd, the service moved surprisingly fast and the whole experience felt well organized. You pay based on cone size rather than by the scoop, which means you can load up on flavors without the guilt of counting portions. I went with pistachio, mango and blueberry cheesecake, and the combination worked beautifully. What really sets Amorino apart is the presentation, the staff shape the gelato into a stunning flower design that almost feels too pretty to eat. I also grabbed a Nutella crepe which was every bit as good as it sounds. Beyond the gelato there are plenty of options to explore including their famous macarons, so it is worth taking a moment to browse before you order. If you are walking through the Baixa area, this is an easy and very rewarding detour.

I went with my good ole faithful waffle with two scoops (hazelnut chocolate and salted caramel) of gelato and topped it off with hazelnut drizzle. The total was about $6.40 which is way cheaper than it is in the states. It was just as delicious and very much worth it. It's easy to find in you're in the Baixa area of Lisboa. He's a total sweetheart and for that, everyone should have the privilege of getting to know him better. I asked him if he knew about Yelp, but he didn't -- it's mostly an American thing. I thought hey! In the summer when it's hot, people would LOVE to have good gelato and good company, so why not help him put his business on Yelp?? So I did, and here's my review. Their lemonade was really delicious -- freshly made with light hints of mint. As is with most Portuguese businesses, closing times depend on how the shopkeepers feel that day. We didn't want just the novelty stuff on a stick, either. No, we wanted real ice cream, the kind someone dishes into a cone or cup for you. AHHHH!!! We came around a corner and saw a plush ice cream cone hanging out front of this little shop, so we ventured inside. Talk about kismet! Not only was there ice cream, but sorbet, too. I opted for a cup of hazelnut and dark chocolate paired together. My wife got the same dark chocolate, but with a nice coconut. The place was empty, save for the very nice young woman who served us, but soon it was full. Maybe we started a trend, maybe some passersby saw us and thought they might like some ice cream, too, I don't know. But, here's the other side of the coin, and it's not a downside. The shop has much more than just ice cream. Did you notice the "sardinha" in the name? There are many tins of sardines available for purchase, too. And tea. And wine. And olive oil. And olive paste. And flavored vinegars. And Sal de mer. This little shop, and it is not a very big space, although there was just enough space for the four of us to sit and enjoy our ice cream and the light breeze coming off the water just across the street, has a lot of stuff in it. We found that elusive present for one of our neighbors right in this shop - in fact two presents! The prices are good, the place is spotless, the young woman who served us was pleasant and helpful - this was a gem in an already great city!
