I came for happy hour, and their happy hour selection is a bit different from their regular menu. They offer select drinks and "small bites" that are smaller versions of what they typically offer on their menu. I ordered an espresso martini and the three graces. Both drinks were beautiful and on the stronger side, but I wasn't wildly impressed by the drinks. For food, we ordered the O'Keefe and the Renoir flatbreads. My favorite was the O'Keefe. I went here with my friends for my birthday and loved it!! It was pricey but I think every drink was truly so good and thoughtfully garnished. Our drinks did get mixed up and sent to the wrong table but our waitress took care of it and brought a round of birthday shots due to the mistake. I also loved the music the saxophone player was so cool and interactive. I am leaving off a star though because I called ahead of time to ask if I don't use my deposit can I apply it to gratuity and was told yes, when I got there that was not the case even thought I checked ahead of time. This is such a cute lounge!! It wasn't super packed which for me was a good thing. The drinks were all really tasty. The bartender described them as "farm to table" for their level of freshness and I would have to agree. I also liked that they were willing to switch things up upon request. Being my first time here the service was very lack luster and really non existent. I had to walk up to the bar to order drinks ( btw the bartender was nice) she asked if we wanted a server I said yes, she spoke to the serve who then approached me saying I guess I'll be your server and will bring you your drinks. Mind you it's a Monday evening and the establishment was slow, knowing that there's an automatic 20% gratuity you would think they'd want service those who come in. If you live in Houston, you know what the 2026 Valentine's Day storms did to traffic. I made a 9:00 PM reservation at Santé. I live in Fulshear. I booked a car service to get us there safely. Major storms rolled in. Traffic was gridlocked across the city. We arrived at 9:22 PM. Seven minutes past their grace window (which I totally acknowledged, but under the circumstances, I would expect a bit more understanding and compassion, especially on Valentine's Day). The host met (not greeted), us at the door and told us our table was given away. I explained I had called twice. No answer, no attempt to work with us despite a citywide weather event (I showed them my phone logs where I called twice, but the staff was dismissive and rude). Their solution: * Wait until 10:30 something will open up. * Stand at the bar and "take a look around". * Or, leave and forfeit the $100 deposit. After planning. After booking a car service. After calling ahead. This was not a minor inconvenience. It was embarrassing. It was dismissive. It showed zero customer focus. They kept the $100 deposit because they could not answer their phone and would not extend seven minutes during a major storm. If you value: * Basic hospitality. * Communication. * Accountability. * Respect for your time and money. Choose another bar. Houston has plenty of places that understand service. Sante is an upscale bar/lounge in the Upper Kirby area. Reservations are strongly recommended as seating is limited. You'll be asked to place a $20 deposit when you make your reservation but it will be used as a credit on your bill. My friend and I came here on a Sunday for a girls night out. Valet appears the only option but I did not venture out to try and find street parking. My first impression is that the ambiance is classy and romantic. It makes for a great date night or outing with your girl friends. There are also plenty of backdrops for a cute photo op. I reserved us a high top table which was right next to the DJ booth. There was a live DJ playing music when we went which made for a fun atmosphere while we were there. The only downside is that the music was way too loud that people had to scream to talk to someone beside them. I'd understand if there was dancing going on but everyone was casually sitting and having conversations. I ordered "The Three Graces" and my friend ordered the "Picante" for our first round. My drink was a twist on an Amaretto Sour so it was sweet. I always like starting off with cocktails with egg white for that smoothness. If you're planning on getting the meat and cheese board, I'd recommend reserving one of the room tables because the board took up basically half of the high top table. We barely had enough room for our drinks and it was only 2 of us. The board was okay but the preparation was a bit lazy. The prosciutto was just one giant piece and the ratio of crackers and cheese was way off. I enjoyed the honey they served with it though. Our second round was the "Three Pears Old Fashioned" and the "Fruit of the Earth". Whiskey's my liquor of choice and the bartender who made my drink definitely was a heavy pourer. My friend's drink came with a mini fire show which was fun to watch. It tasted phenomenal though and I normally don't like mezcal. That is when i noticed that something was a bit "off". The drinks were made for humans the size of toddlers. Both the drinks and the flatbreads were beautiful but my god they were extremely tiny. I hate to say it but we truly felt like we were being ripped off after drinking 3 happy hour drinks and there was nothing. The ice took up the entire glass of each drink I ordered. Sure, they made the drinks elegant. Super showy and decadent.. but 3 sips and that was it! That is not an over exaggeration. The flat bread was also 4 small slices to the whole thing. It was yummy, but half the size. I understand happy hour food specials do typically come smaller but the drinks just really got me. This place must be making bank from providing minimal of everything during happy hour. You also pay $10 for vallet and my friend parked her own car in the very front. Also a rip off. I understand for other cars where there is service provided but that was super offputting for my friend to park her own car in the front and then pay. RE: 20% auto gratuity on ALL checks. I enjoyed this lounge so much but will probably never go back unless someone else is paying. Their cauliflower crust flatbreads are the best! However if you want to catch up with friends at some place thats cute and trendy its perfect for that too. Also they give all ladies who come solo a rose which was such a sweet touch. I want to stress that we had no issues when we visisted - everything went right. However I can still complain about their gratuity policy - which is 20% on ALL checks. And by all, I mean party of 1 or party of 10 will all be assessed 20%. Whether you have a wonderful experience or a lackluster one, that'll be 20% please. As we've already uncovered tipping culture has gotten out of control and its because of policies like this. The night I visisted I would have certainly tipped 18-20% because the bartenders were awesome, the food was tasty and the ambiance was giving. But to ASSUME that Im going to have a great night and automatically help yourself to the highest customary percentage is extremely presumptuous on their part. I understand mandatory gratuity when you have a large table but we were just 2 people seated at the bartop. As someone who waited tables for years no one understands the sting of a bad tipper more than me. But thats just part of the job. You get horrible tips, you get overtipped - its part of the cost of doing business. To attempt to safegaurd your bartenders from losses at my expense seems a little aggressive and is enough to make me never patronize this place again. Very aesthetic, "instagram" worthy bar. Make reservations to secure a table! They do adhere to the strict dress code past 8pm- no sneakers, etc. Valet parking only that you do pay for in the end. The drinks themselves were very good. Taking down a few stars for service though. While our waitress was very nice, whenever we placed a drink order it would take 20+ min to arrive. By the time you feel the buzz from the first drink, it wears off when the next drink comes. The mushroom flatbread was also very delicious- would recommend. I am still furious thinking about what happened here. This place showed a shocking lack of judgment, safety, and basic human decency. We were by the DJ, minding our own business, dancing, when a clearly drunk woman came into our space, aggressively flipping her hair onto us and dancing on the wall right next to us. Completely unprovoked, she suddenly turned to my friend and began screaming at her. My friend tried to de escalate she laughed it off and turned away. Instead of backing off, the woman continued pushing herself onto my friend, escalating the situation. When my sister stepped in to move the drunk woman away and protect us, security immediately grabbed my sister and threw her out, claiming she "shoved" the woman. Meanwhile, the actual aggressor the drunk woman who started everything was allowed to stay inside. Let that sink in. A man physically removed a woman in her 20s and left her alone on the street, without bothering to ask what happened, while keeping the intoxicated instigator inside. That is not protection. That is negligence. This wasn't a misunderstanding. It was a blatant failure of judgment and a terrifying display of who this place chooses to punish. No concern for safety. No fairness. No accountability. Just instant blame on the wrong person. I've never felt so angry, unsafe, and disrespected in my life.
