The food is well cooked and unique. The staff is friendly enough to make it feel like home. The building looks like a historical landmark inside celebrating our roots. Whether you're vegan or not, they will have something you like and they're right off the highway.

The vegan burrito bowl was amazing. The service was with a smile as usual. The atmosphere is always very calming and welcoming! I will defiantly be back

Absolutely amazing! The food, the staff, the atmosphere. I was looking for a restaurant that served both plant based food (vegan type) for my husband and regular meat based food for myself and this was a home run! We were enjoying our food so much that my husband who likes to take pictures of food nearly forgot to take any. Hubbies vegan mushroom Swiss chicken sandwich was a hit and his purple rain smoothie was amazing. There was a slight miscommunication and instead of beef I got a turkey burger patty with my bbq bacon burger but I decided to just try it first before saying anything and I am glad the mistake was made because I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! I've never liked a turkey burger before and I've tried a few. I liked it so much that if I'm able to make it here again (I live 5+ hr away) I will be torn between having the turkey burger or the beef! They also make a delicious hibiscus tea! So if you eat meat this place is for you, if you don't eat meat this place is for you. If you want a smoothie or hibiscus tea or a cocktail or beer (among other things!!) this place is for you. If you want a relaxed vibe this place is for you..... basically- go give it a try!!

Sankofa is a must if you are in the DFW area! Fresh, real, seasoned ingredients that are made by a wonderful loving family- can never go wrong with that! They offer A rather straightforward menu either you want vegan or meat style. The meats they offer are chicken. Seafood, turkey and recently added beef. The menu is literally divided in half for vegans and meat eaters. Example: they will have a turkey spaghetti and a vegan spaghetti or a fish Poboy and a vegan fish Poboy. And when you order the fish it is not just frozen vegan fish they actually marinate eggplant I believe in order to achieve the fish fillet affect. They definitely knocked all of their vegan recipes out of the park! If you are vegan I recommend you try but even meat eaters need to try Sankofa kitchen!! Hibiscus tea is a must!!! We buy the biggest container they have every time. When you walk in you are always greeted with a very warm hello and you immediately settle in to a calm Zen. The interior and art gives you vibes of a jazz lounge but centered around the kitchen. While you wait you can also shop their handmade soaps , black educational books, and even some art.

The turkey mushroom Swiss burger was amazing. It was seasoned well. It brought me back to the memories of those old school burgers you can't find anymore. The turkey burger was made to perfection The sweet potatoes fries accented the turkey burger well!

Samosa is a gem offering clean vegan cuisine for the entire family. We ordered loaded vegan and turkey nachos. We also ordered a kids grilled cheese and fries. The family who is servicing was so kind and the kitchen staff delivered food piping hot extremely quick. We loved the e food and will definitely be back to visit again. When you try it- definitely get the nachos(2 people can dine on it together)

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The patties are juicy, the buns are toasted perfectly, and everything tastes fresh and made with care. You can tell they are not trying to be trendy. They are just focused on making a solid burger every single time. It is the kind of place you keep coming back to because it never disappoints. Quick, simple, and consistently good. If you care more about flavor than atmosphere, this is the spot.

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

Just straight up classic counter service and I was happy for it. The reason I take off one star is because I ordered the turkey burger, but when the chef brought it out he said "here's your chicken burger". So I'm not actually sure what I ate, but I'm also okay with that. It's kinda like a pick your path you know? Anyway I'd definitely go back. Super tasty and the bun was great. The fries were great. The fried pickles were great. Just vibes and love.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.

It does have an old vibe to it with the people go to you to order the food. There are many cars outside and was worried that it would take awhile. The servers come to you and you order through their tablet. I had to take a minute, but you have to make sure you have your blinkers on and they will come to you. I ordered the following #5 Special with bacon #1 The best burger and then the cheese fries I got the order within 10 minutes and did not take too long. Once they deliver the food to you, I paid through credit card and then you can tip them so I gave them an 18% tip as they were nice and serve the food to me. The food is very messy and oily so make sure you bring some hand sanitizer. They packed in a lot of napkins as well. The burger itself was just alright, was a little cold for me though so not so sure how long it was waiting. The lettuce and tomato was a little on the soggy side. The meat itself was just alright. When I ate it, I did not experience the wow factor. I can not complain about the price however. Overall, I rather go to Inn-n-out, but I am glad I got one of the places to try in Dallas out of the way.
