I drove out to the hole-in-the-wall spot Mary's Kitchen to give it a try while I was in the area. I ordered the Showstopper Chicken Potato, the Figure Watching Salad, and a Kool-Aid. I appreciated the use of a beeper system while waiting--it's an efficient way to manage guests. However, the wait ended up being longer than expected, even though the restaurant didn't appear particularly busy. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet my expectations. The potato itself was unseasoned, and the Cajun sauce was poured on so heavily that it overwhelmed the dish rather than complementing it. The grilled chicken also tasted somewhat processed. I ended up adding sea salt just to finish the meal. I didn't personally try the salad, but my relative said it was good, although it could have used a bit more dressing. My brother introduced our family to this place because he's learned about them on social media. After trying the food, I can understand what the hype was all about. Everything we ordered was delicious! My biggest issues was how long it took to get the orders out for everyone in our party. There were four of us total and the time from the first meal being ready to the last one being brought out was nearly 30 minutes. I don't know if it was because they had a lot of mobile orders or big orders ahead of us, but it was a long wait. Now I'm back to the food itself, I got the twisted Philly bowl which came with their signature sauce along with plenty of Philly steak a bed of pasta. this meal was so flavorful and filling and I definitely wanted to go back for seconds but I had plenty leftover. In terms of dessert, we try to variety of things, including the German chocolate as well as the 7-Up cake. I enjoyed them both, but the seven up cake stood out a little bit more to me. Ordered upon arrival. There was a 30 minute wait from the time I placed my order but it was to be expected. The staff were friendly. About 3 people were waiting ahead of me. They give you a buzzer to alert you when your food is ready. When I did receive it, it was hot. I ordered the seafood pasta with mardi gras sauce. It was definitely filled with seafood. Not bad. Cheesy potatoes with fried catfish and crawfish. Crawfish were nicely seasoned with cajun flavor & catfish came crispy and hot. I thought it would be more of a baked potato, but it came in cheesy chunks. Made for a delicious bite. Everything was seasoned individually and came together for a GOOD meal. Food; I heard about this restaurant after a popular IG/YouTuber raved about it. I got the all seafood showstopper. The total was $30.74 including tax. My dish was essentially mashed potatoes with shrimp/ crawfish. Nothing else was prevalent although I don't doubt it was possibly present. The sauce/flavor was good but the whole dish was runny and unfulfilling. To be fair, I was expecting blacken salmon & shrimp over mashed potatoes with cream sauce. (more on this miscommunication later). Service; I placed a phone order around 2pm on a Saturday. The lady taking my order was uninformed about the menu. I asked if the showstopper included salmon in the all seafood option & she replied YES. FYI; It does NOT!!!!! Or my order was incorrect. However, after witnessing the busy counter and pickup window, waiting 20 minutes in line to pay and the utter confusion of the staff, I was simply ready to get out of there lol.. Ambiance; I was told my order would be ready for pickup in about 30/40 minutes. When I arrived there was a huge crowd inside so I called again to confirm my order was ready for pickup. It was over 100 degrees and my dog was in the car, I wanted to confirm I could be in and out bc I didn't want him to overheat. Great thing my order was ready, HOWEVER, there isn't a way to pay at the pickup window, and so I went to wait in a very long line lol...I would HIGHLY recommend you pay ahead of time OR just order while there to avoid this hassle! Tips for a better experience; Avoid peak times ie-weekends, Place and pay order online, (unfortunately uber was showing sold out when i tried) and I think the miscommunication from the employee came from it being too loud for her to hear. Thus, take your time to know the menu/what you're getting because the menu isn't very specific. Verdict; As always just check it out for yourself!
