I loved the antique cookbooks that were on the back wall as part of the decor, it was a really cool touch in this breakfast-all-day restaurant. I came here with a very large group. Initially, the waitress was able to pull some tables together for us, but we still needed spots for about four more people in our group when we suggested pulling over one more table. She seemed to become frustrated and said she would need to run it by her manager. She brought us our drinks and then refused to take our order for a good 30 to 45 minutes. We could see her in the back, just playing on her cell phone. We tried to flag another waitress down but to no avail. Finally, after asking other staff members for assistance, another waitress who I believe was the manager, came over to serve us. She was very pleasant and kind. I tried the house omelette with hash browns, and it was extraordinary, really really delicious. The coffee also was extremely good. Several people in our group ordered the salads with lamb and those looked amazing. No complaints on the quality of the food. Everything was truly yummy. I'm glad the food was so good because it made up in some way for the poor service we received from our first waitress. My wife and I went today for the first time and I ordered 2 eggs over easy, 2 bacon strips and 1 sausage patty. I got scrambled eggs and bacon but no sausage. The waitress never returned so I was not able to get it corrected or get a coffee refill. I was finally able to catch her and get the check. She was handling 6 tables so it appeared she was too busy to get back to us. At the register the cashier asked if everything was good and i said no. Went with my family and we all had very different menu items, which was great as I was able to try a bit of everything. Had the worse customer service here of all the times I've come in. My hubby and I arrived a little before 7pm on Friday, June 30th. When we walked up to the counter to get seated, there was a new young girl who pulled menus and began getting us ready to take the vacant booth by the window. The blonde older woman told her not to seat us but have us wait for 10 minutes. Now, there was no one waiting to be seated but us. And there was an open booth with a clean table. So we sat down and after 15 minutes, I stood up and said ok, time is up. Can we be seated? The young girl looked at the older blonde for a queue to what to do, and she said nothing. No one had come in after us and we were still the only people waiting. I don't know what the issue was. But with crappy service like this, Chubby will be getting some reviews like mine.
