    2 piece fillets

This place was recommended to me by one of my patients. The fish was well seasoned hot and fresh real catfish. The fries could have been cooked a little bit longer. They were kind of soft, not soggy, but just undercooked. They are really stingy with the hot sauce and the tartar sauce. It was barely any in the containers that they give you, but I will definitely be back

This place was recommended to me by a coworker. I didn't even know this place existed. I'm so happy and glad to find a good place to go for some good food. I ordered the 2 piece catfish fillets with okra. Everything tasted great. I actually received two whole pieces of fish (cut in half). Not just one piece (cut in half) calling it a 2 piece. I liked that you have to call in your order, stay in your car, and they bring it out to you when it ready. I will be returning.

Not my best pic, but I was preggers at the time and ready to chow down!! Fresh Catfish and Shrimp

This place is in the heart of South Dallas on Lancaster road. You yelpers will rarely catch me in this part of town but I was roaming the streets because of my work. The outside might be kind of sketch, but I could probably eat off of the floor on the inside. I was surprised at how clean it was! I was greeted by the owner's brother. He was such a sweetheart and really carried on a great conversation as my catfish and shrimp were being prepared! He is very catering to his customers and everyone seems to know him really well. The fish and shrimp were piping hot and tasted like they were alive only a few minutes ago. I heard they got all of their Seafood from Galveston Texas. The shrimp was fried hard just like I like it, but the catfish could have been fried a little harder. I am very salt sensitive, so the flavor was great to me. Their fries were yummy and seasoned to perfection. I really like how they do their bread. They don't just slap on 2 slices of bread and call it a day, they Grill both sides with butter I'm assuming which really tops the meal off. My husband is an avid fisherman so we usually fry it up at home. Unfortunately, I probably won't be making a special trip back out here. But if I happen to be in the area, it is definitely worth eating again and again and again. Definitely a local favorite!

I initially wanted to go to the business next door to here because i was going to fry my own catfish and shrimp. That market is amazing as well. I decided to just relax and eat to go at home. And since i was here i might as well try it right. Well i think this is a undiscovered gem conveniently located on Lancaster road across from the V.A hospital.... iblove coming across these kind of places. Friendly. Clean. I havent tried the food yet but man the atmosphere has me very excited. Mmmmmmm. I cant say enough. It was goood. I will be returning. They will get to know me lol....

Best catfish steaks I've had here in Texas. You know it's good when you can drive 40 mins each way weekly.

Never disappoints. The best catfish I've ever tried. Small little hole in the wall but food is delicious.

The Alfredo sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned, while the Mardi Gras sauce added just the right amount of Cajun flavor and spice. Mixing the two together took it to another level. The potato itself was loaded, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. There is a bit of a wait, but everything is made fresh, and you can definitely taste the difference. The quality and flavor make it well worth the wait. If you're in Dallas and craving soul food with a creative twist, Mary's Twisted Kitchen is a must-try. Great food, generous portions, and flavors that'll have you planning your next visit before you even finish your meal!

I appreciated the use of a beeper system while waiting--it's an efficient way to manage guests. However, the wait ended up being longer than expected, even though the restaurant didn't appear particularly busy. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet my expectations. The potato itself was unseasoned, and the Cajun sauce was poured on so heavily that it overwhelmed the dish rather than complementing it. The grilled chicken also tasted somewhat processed. I ended up adding sea salt just to finish the meal. I didn't personally try the salad, but my relative said it was good, although it could have used a bit more dressing. Overall, the food lacked the flavor and balance I was hoping for.

Unfortunately, this visit was more "it could've been better" than "I need to come back." THE VIBE Walking in, the first thing you'll notice is the music. Music is definitely part of the atmosphere at establishments like this, especially during the daytime, but it was a little too loud for the space. We actually had trouble hearing our waitress from across the bar, which made ordering more difficult than it needed to be. The restaurant itself was clean, but staffing seemed to be a major issue. Our waitress was essentially the entire front of house operation greeting guests, taking orders, preparing drinks, serving customers, and handling checks. That's a LOT for one person, and it showed. Our food took a while to come out, and getting checked out at the end took some patience as well. Because she was handling so much on her own, tables that needed to be wiped down were left waiting. RESTROOM CHECK The ladies' restroom definitely needs some attention. There was only one stall, and unfortunately, the toilet was backed up. Since there wasn't another stall available, I had no choice but to use it. Definitely not the most pleasant part of the visit. My family ordered several things so we could get a good feel for the menu: Catfish Basket The catfish was fried way too hard for my liking and was lacking the seasoning I was expecting from a Cajun seafood spot. I wanted more flavor and that signature Cajun kick. Lemon Pepper Wings Basket These tasted more like regular fried chicken wings than lemon pepper wings. The lemon pepper seasoning was barely noticeable. The fries were also soggy and lacking flavor. Shrimp Po'Boy + Fried Okra This was probably my biggest disappointment. A po'boy should traditionally been served on French bread, but this came on a much smaller bun similar to a hotdog bun. Because of that, the toppings were constantly trying to escape the sandwich. The shrimp was overcooked, dry, and tough, which really took away from the sandwich. I had to bring in some reinforcements with the hot sauce and homemade tartar sauce just to make it more enjoyable. The pricing was pretty average for a seafood restaurant, so I didn't feel like we were overcharged. One thing I did appreciate: there was no automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill. Given the service during our visit, I appreciated having the opportunity to decide what I felt was appropriate. I think Phatt's has the foundation to be a really good neighborhood seafood spot. The concept is there, the restaurant was clean, and the prices were reasonable. But this visit felt like the seasoning, preparation, staffing, and overall attention to detail were missing.

I asked the scanning tech working in the Cardiology Clinic who was working with me if by any chance she had eaten there . She acknowledged that she had and the food is prepared according to your request. After my appointment the next step before heading home was at Phat Matt's . It was dark wasn't sure they were opened. The open sign was lit . I turned the door handle to go inside . It was a small place dark with chairs and a table or two . Gave off vibes you can sit while you wait for you order to be prepared but once ready paid for proceed out the door you came in. . There wasn't any customers inside just a young man probably no more than 22 working by himself. The menu is posted on the wall in colorful chalk written by someone with a nice penmanship. My eyes focused on the catfish category on the wall. Oh before I forget its a "Cash Only" business . I had to look inside my wristlet to make sure I had money to pay for my meal. Some of the chalk writing was smeared . I learned the cook on duty when I visited was named Jacoby. He was average height thin he looked a little tired or maybe lacking some energy. He came to the counter to see if I was ready to place my order. I responded I was . I started out stating for me what I didn't want. On my 3pc catfish basket I did not want any hushpuppies or a slice of white bread cut in half or possibly toasted to be included. I didn't time Jacoby but its wasn't too long of a wait . I asked him if I could take pictures of the menu in case I wanted to stop by again if the food was good after my next appointment at the VA The food was smelling good nice and hot . My food was in a little paper basket inside a white paper bag . I grabbed a few napkins nearby. There was a tip jar in the counter . I left a couple of dollars as I picked up my order inside the white bag he had gently placed on the counter. Thank God for safe traveling grace and arriving mercies to my home . I stopped by QT on my way home to get a large frozen coke . Surprisedly the food was still pretty hot from my nineteen miles journey. I forgot to request my fish be fried hard paper on the side of the basket . I smelled it strongly from the moment I picked up my order from the counter. Fries were nestled under the three flaky crispy filets. The fries were soft kinda soggy but edible. I was able to eat this meal and enjoy for a couple of days . I plan to stop by again whenever I have my next appointment at the VA. Chef's ‍ kiss
