I came in kinda looking like a drowned rat. Meaning, my hair was wet dark and limp. My hair had been growing out for too long without a trim. TN was focused, amicable, and attentive. He kept my layers, which a lot of places could mess up. He started to do face framing bangs and I was like No! I like to keep the front long. He did some anyway, where I needed it, and followed direction to stop when I said No. And it turned into these cute wings around my face. While there, I kept twisting it, trying to get it to do its usual flounce, but it wouldn't go. I'm from California. He said he was, too. I think the Arizona dry air was making my hair dull. He told me to style it, like with product. I don't know what I'm doing. I brought my Kerastase Gloss Absolute products, bc I'd followed the Sephora sample directions. We didn't shampoo, so maybe I should try that next time. But idk, the shampoo area was kinda dirty. The place could be cleaner. Meanwhile, I just kept trying putting oil on it to make my hair move. I left feeling satisfied. Then later- wow- it's a really great haircut. Except now, with this haircut, I don't have to do anything to my hair. It just comes out nice. Everything lays perfectly. It's sexy hair. TN styled it right. I'd say for anyone in Arizona to YouTube what to do with your hair in the desert. As soon as my hair hit some humidity it looked gorgeous with this cut. Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!…read more Y'all, if you're looking for an amazing stylist, look no further. I'm someone who has done a lot to my hair over the years. I previously owned a modeling agency, and we were constantly changing hair styles and working with some of the best stylists in the world. After moving to the Sedona area, I had three disappointing experiences in a row--honestly, some of the worst hair I've ever had. I finally decided to make the trip to Scottsdale, where I knew I could find someone who truly cared about their craft. After doing some research, I chose this salon and booked with Lisa. In just one appointment, she completely understood what I wanted and delivered it flawlessly. With over 20 years of experience, she made what seemed impossible look effortless. She not only got me back to where I wanted to be--she exceeded my expectations. What I appreciated most was that she listened. Really listened. Then she combined that understanding with incredible skill and precision. On top of that, she's an absolute delight to spend time with. If you've been struggling to find a stylist you trust, I know how stressful that can be. Great hair makes such a difference, and we all deserve exceptional service and results. Run, don't walk, and book with Lisa. You'll be so glad you did! xoxo

Think twice before you go to this place! I honestly have…read morenever had an experience like this with a haircut, and I'm still incredibly frustrated and upset about it. I showed exactly what I wanted simple face framing and long layers but my hair was cut so unevenly that the layers didn't blend at all. There were random short pieces, completely different lengths, and the back was uneven and had no shape. It genuinely looked like a 5 year old had cut my hair, not a certified professional. Almost everyone who has seen my hair since has asked me the same thing: how could this possibly happen at a professional salon? Yes, I received a full refund, and I appreciate that. But I then had to go somewhere else to try to fix the damage. The second stylist had to take off even more hair, so I lost both the length AND the density of my hair just to make it look somewhat normal again. And even now, there is only so much that can be fixed. I have to wait for it to grow out. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I asked the manager for their number because I genuinely wanted someone to explain to me HOW this happened. She never responded. I got my money back, but I felt absolutely no real empathy or understanding of what I was dealing with just scripted comments like I would be sad like you too and "Everybody loves this hairstylist. That completely misses the point. This is MY hair. I can't undo what was done. Giving me my money back doesn't give me back the length and density I lost or change how awful I feel every time I look at my hair. I wasn't looking for drama or anything extra from them. I just wanted someone to actually acknowledge how badly this went, take it seriously, and explain how something like this could happen with a professional stylist. I never got that.

I walked in and instantly knew this was the right salon for me! I was immediately greeted by my new stylist Crystal who asked my name and who my appointment was with. Initially I was nervous to walk through the door because I hadn't been to a salon in almost 4 years. Do to many bad hair experiences i decided to stop damaging my hair and let it grow out. During those 4 years I did not dye or cut my hair. After so much time had passed I was at lose to find a new salon where I could get my beautiful locks back on track. Crystal made me feel right at home as if we were old friends. I explained to her my previous hair trauma and my anxiety about cutting my hair. She was very nice and comforting and most of all listened to my needs! Good communication is an important skill a GREAT stylist must have. The whole process did not take long. Crystal washed my hair and massaged my scalp (my favorite part of the experience) she followed up with a gentle blow dry. Before she began cutting we discussed how much time I spend on average each day styling my hair, what type of hair style I wanted & how many inches I wanted to trim. By this time I was so relaxed I was able to sit back and listen to her styling tips. Since i have very long hair straight hair my curls don't tend to stay in, but with Crystal's suggestions and techniques my curls lasted until I returned home from a night of dancing. I received so many compliments that nice that i had to share my enjoyable experience with everyone. I am truly blessed to find a salon with excellent customer service and great prices. Thank you mucho Crystal..... see you soon! read more

I had a very pleasant experience with Crystal. Her suite shop is located on ground floor at a very nice condo complex. The ambiance of the place, her shop, and restroom gave off a spa like feel. Even other businesses and clients were very welcoming when I walked down the hall. I was in town visiting a friend and soon as I walked into Crystal's shop I was greeted with open arms like I've been a long time client. Crystal was very patient and helpful. I was there for 2 hrs, which included wash, conditioning, blow drying, trim, and flat ironing. The time also included a break for me to eat, restroom break, and Crystal taking pics of my hair length by my request. I have natural thick kinky hair...and Crystal knocked that out in no time and my hair never been this smooth. I was VERY impressed. At a point I forgot she was doing my hair because she was so gentle. Gentle is key with natural hair because people rush and damage and can damage my strands. Crystal treated my mane with love and patience. I'm definitely coming back whenever I'm in the Phoenix area! read more

I have never written a review before but been soo happy with this salon I had to write one!!chrystal is the most sweet, caring and patient individual that loves what she does. I had never had human hair installation before and asked a lot of questions before going to see Chrystal who accommodated my schedule after only 24hr notice. I hadn't been in a hair salon in many years so my hair was in drastic need of some TLC. My hair is relaxed but has a lot of breakage so I wanted to get a cut to get it healthy again. I was super nervous because the last time I got my hair cut it was bad. Being bald would have been better than the last cut I had. Let me say, from the beginning, Crystal put me at ease. She was thorough, patient, communicative and very personable. Most importantly, she listened! She knew that I was anxious and worked with me cutting little by little until I was comfortable with the length. We probably went through 4 rounds of "Is this cut short enough? No? Ok shorter," before we were done. She had a good attitude through the whole experience and never made me feel rushed. I am in love with the end result and can't believe that the hair I have now is actually mine. I Googled "black hair stylist, Phoenix, AZ" and found Crystal. I was in town for the Final 4 and had my go to style for my natural hair but REALLY wanted my hair done by a professional since I hadn't seen one since 2010. I called in the morning on 3/30/17, and was actually sitting in her chair within an hour and a half. She was very thorough and fast, (my husband couldn't believe I was done so quickly), even though I got a wash, deep steam conditioner, major trim, (more like a cut b/c my ends were so bad,) and my hair straightened. And as far as the results go MY HAIR IS STILL SUPER STRAIGHT! Sure the edges have curled up b/c of shower water hitting them but even through 3+ days of rain, my sweating and the humidity from showering the rest is as it was when I got it done. I hate to even wash my hair but it's been 11 days so it's definitely past time! lol! If I am ever in Phoenix again you can bet I will be looking up Crystal. read more

Sa'Nia salon is a great place to get your hair done! On top of being in a great location, the hair stylist Crystal is so bubbly, knowledgeable, and talented. For years, I've had trouble with my hair and finding stylists that were willing to work with my short and thinned hair, but Crystal made it happen. I was worried about being in the open with other people staring at my hair, but the design of her salon gave me the piece of mind and privacy that I've been searching for. I went to this place today to get my hair healthy before I put my braids in. Nothing fancy. Crystal is so nice and she was on time. Her salon is located in a beauty professional building in Tempe, NOT someone's house! I simply got my hair washed, deep conditioned, a protein treat, trimmed, and blow dried(not in that order). My hair is severely damaged partially to me ruining it with at home relaxers and partially to the very dry phoenix weather. By time I left her salon my hair was soft, healthy looking, and manageable. After stressing over it all week I went online Thursday and stumbled onto the positive Sa'Nia yelp reviews and decided to contact them. I was in Crystal's chair the next day after work. When I arrived I was pleasantly greeted by Chane and later had my hair drama fixed by Crystal; leaving me happy and relieved with my modified cut. I definitely plan on returning regularly for trims and styling when I decided to grow my hair back out. Thank you Ladies! -vs read more

When I decided to start my dreadlock journey, I reached out to several salons across both the East and West Valley and received either no response or very delayed replies. Once we finalized the approach, I was paired with Miss Leah, and the journey has been smooth, successful, and enjoyable from day one. The team is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about both their clients and each other. I look forward to every visit because the shop is fun, energetic, positive, and exceptionally clean and organized.
