Reesa remember I had gone to other places and had been over charge and still end up also not getting what I wanted, so she showed me that she listened to me by adjusting the price down. I had transitioned my hair from relaxed to natural for 3 years, but I only wore crochet braids because I could not successfully do my natural hair in a hairstyle that I felt comfortable wearing. After seeing the before and after pictures of the 1st time curl define clients I finally committed to scheduling an appointment. The week of my appointment I began to get nervous and was contemplating changing my appointment from a 1st time curl define appointment to a silk press (because I was more comfortable with doing my hair straight). I contacted the owner Kemi and she called me back and answered my questions (mostly I was concerned that I would not be able to replicate or maintain the style at home). When I was finished with my conversation with the owner, Kemi I was actually excited about my appointment. When I finally had my appointment I was very pleased with the results - thank you Joy! Additionally Kemi and Joy both followed up with me days after my appointment to see if I had any questions or concerns. Thanks to Joy and Kemi I feel comfortable and confident wearing my natural hair in a wash and go and twist out style. I receive so many compliments on my hair and I get asked about the products I use on a regular basis (mostly from women that have been natural far longer than myself). I met Jessica at a salon in Colorado and was beyond impressed with her ability to help me achieve the results I wanted on my 1st visit. When she changed salons, I followed. When she announced she was moving to Arizona, I was so bummed. She did however refer me to a friend of hers, that did a great job. Coincidentally, I ended up transferring to AZ a few years later and was thrilled to reconnect with Jessica once again. You can imagine the relief I felt, knowing I wouldn't have to "stylist hop" until I found someone who did a great job with my hair. I'm settled here so hopefully Jessica stays, so I get to keep my stylist. I should mention that I drive 1 hour each way for my appointments with her. Jessica is friendly and easy to talk to. I haven't been to a salon in 9 years so I was crazy nervous. The ladies there are hella nice and know their stuff. Shaunte is the stylist who did my wash/conditioner and trim. She is also the owner. I have been natural for 2+ years and she treated my hair very well. I was shocked to see how long it really was. She didn't get trim happy either, she only cut about 1/2 inches off and it felt & looked awesome! They get you in and out there is no sitting around for a whole day at Belle Melange. This is a HUGE plus for me! I took my mom there before Christmas and they took good care of her hair too. I am a mama's girl so if you can make her happy, you get major kuddos from me! The appearance of the salon is clean, the restroom is pretty, very spa like. They have nice music playing and there is NO and I mean NO catty mess popping off in there. Immediately I was so glad I came to this Salon. Ramon, the owner with decades of experience, was both gracious and engaging, and made me feel at home with his fun sense of humor. Ramon listened intently to what I had done in the past and what I needed. We discussed color shades and shaping. He explained what we would do, and I knew I was in good hands. Ramon's coloring and styling were picture perfect -- exactly the look I hoped for! When I got home, my wife, who has a ton of experience with hair styling and color for herself, could hardly stop complimenting how great I looked.
