Last time I was there with my family the food was really good and they really gave you a lot of it

Wow! I've lived in Clovis for the last 10 years and I just stared eating here on the regular. Why did I just find this place now?! This place never disappoints. Food: AMAZING!!! Never undercooked like lots of other places. Very tasty and you get really great portions. This is coming form a person who's not really a breakfast person. I am now. With these folks at least. Service: Just as AMAZING as the food. Everyone is so friendly with customers and within the staff. It's like they're a family working together. It's what give this place incredible vibes. My husband and I decided to try this place. It looked very busy. We were pleasantly surprised that we were called to our table within 5 minutes of us showing up. Before the Plandemic, I was a regular customer here. The staff was friendly, food was good and prices fair. The last two times here recently I was very disappointed. The prices have increased and quality of food have decreased. The hash brown potatoes tasted like they were made in old grease. No more for me. read more

Came up from Bakersfield for a soccer tournament at Clovis High. In between soccer matches we wanted to find a breakfast spot and came across Sandy's in yelp. Upon arrival, we noticed how busy the place was and instantly noticed all the good looking plates being brought out to the customers. We were excited. After a short wait, we were sat at a table. The entire staff was friendly, the place looked clean. The menu has plenty of things to choose from and they all sounded great. We placed our orders and everyone was happy with their meals. Can't say enough good things about this plate. Hours after our meals, we all found ourselves saying how great our breakfasts were. Generous portions, great tasting food. We will be looking for an excuse to come back to Clovis and eat here. read more

Very disappointed. Didn't even get to eat here because we were waiting in front and this older lady waitress asked us to move and we moved for her as much as we could because it was so busy inside. And she rudely said I'm gonna need more room than that as we held the door open for her as well. Then she was coming back inside and said under her breath, "I feel like a prisoner." Look. I get that we all have bad days but to hear a worker say that and be rude after holding the door open, it's all about customer service. At least say thank you. I know it's busy. But if you're not happy working, then don't work. Simple as that. read more

Fantastic food. I ordered the chili verde omelet and my BF ordered the chili burrito. We also ordered a waffle to share. Coffee was perfect and fresh. We went on a beautiful Sunday morning and sat outside. There was a bit of a wait to sit outside but inside wait times were much less. Make sure you get there before 9:30 otherwise it gets packed! The food is really good so the line makes sense. The inside of the restaurant is a bit crowded but I'd call it more cozy. Waitresses were very nice as well although at the end I kind of felt like they were trying to push us out. We weren't even half way done with our meal before the brought us the tag and asked if we needed anything else. But again they were really busy and they needed tables to clear out. I get it. Daughter had Training up the block and it was packed no seating so we decided to walk and see what we could find. This place was packed outside to inside. As soon as we opened the door there was a group of ppl and I anticipated waiting a bit, but a young gentleman jumped out from behind the counter said give me 2 minutes he cleaned up 3 tables and sat 3 groups including us instantly. The food was amazing (I recommend the biscuits they did not lie about being the best) hubby got salsa and was surprised how flavorful it was. They looked like only a few people were working, but those few ppl were hustling and hauling. Food came out fast, service was amazing. read more

Their food is extraordinary! For breakfast, I usually get one of the omelettes. Today I had the Club Omelette. The eggs were very well cooked, not overdone, and nicely mixed with the tomatoes, avocado, and other ingredients within the omelette. The hashbrowns are crispy but still have an essence of potato. I like my hashbrowns extra crispy, so I order them that way. Also, on those hungry days, I order them Covered with cheese, and Smothered with gravy. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The biscuits and gravy are what kept me coming back to Sandy's from the time I was a little kid to my adulthood. Whenever my friends want to go out to breakfast, I always introduce them to Sandy's. Further, I have read some of the less than perfect comments on Yelp. This is my reply to the audience. In terms of the food not being salty enough, use the salt shaker. For example, the gravy is made in batches. If the whole batch is too salty, the whole thing needs to be remade. We all have different salt preferences and tolerances. Its easier to add salt to food than to take it away. In terms of parking, the restaurant cannot help that. There are other places of business around and, since a newer building was built into part of the lot, parking has been unfortunately reduced. I usually send my mom in to put our name on the seating list while I hunt down a spot, or I sit at the bar or call in to place a to go order. In terms of the staff, they are extremely friendly, I have known them for years. The staff can be very busy at times. As humans, we all have our off days. It is our duty, as fellow humans, to empathize with one another, and not tear them down. They also give opportunity for employment to the newer, younger generation so that our youth can gain work experience. The manager sees potential in them. Be patient with them, we all started somewhere at one point in our lives. As always, if you find something that isn't to your liking, ask if they have a comment card (not sure if they have, I think they did at one point), or speak to the manager. Explain to them, in calm, collective words, what you didn't like about your experience. The manager is easy to talk with and is very serious about his business. Lastly, this place is Amazing! It absolutely blows Denny's and IHOP out of the WATER!!! I will always keep coming back to eat here. Whether it be 6am or 130pm, rain, shine, or holiday, there's always a place for me here, and there is always a place for them in my heart. read more

Honestly, I think this place is so crowded & popular because it's been in business a very long time & it's considered to be the crown jewel of breakfast places in the Clovis area. It's tradition for many families to go there. But popularity alone does not make the food delicious or even a good value for the price. We finally went early enough on a Saturday to not be subjected to a ridiculously long wait (we went just before 9am. By 10am-ish, people waiting are spilling out the door). We got a table immediately & were greeted by a friendly waitress. We got our beverages immediately & our food & bill came quickly. The waitress was attentive & quick. However, I bit into my $6 blueberry pancake-yes a single pancake for $6 & it was doughy & chewy. I didn't bother making a complaint because I figured 1 pancake wasn't worth complaining over. Pro's Rapid service Friendly wait staff Easy in/out (when going early) Wide variety of breakfast favorites on the menu Clean & family-friendly atmosphere Family owned Many years open Cons Undercooked expensive pancakes (I can get 2 thoroughly cooked pancakes at a local chain for $4) Expensive!!! The food here is okay but not worth an hour long wait. Granted, it was Clovis Fest this weekend so it was very crowded in Old town. However, my party and I (of five) put our names on the wait list at 8:45 am. 25 min later I checked in again to see how much longer it would be and was told we'd have the next table. However, we didn't. Many other tables of 2, of 4, of 6, etc were called. One other lady with my same name said she had called in so she was given a table before us. I heard another party who came after us said they were told it would be a 25 min wait. It was all over the place. Finally at 10:00 am, we got a table. Though we were given water and coffee, it took our waiter a long time to take our order----7-10 min later felt like a long wait when you're hungry. Our waiter was nice though so that was good. My skillet dish was served on a plate, looked and tasted just okay. I'm told the place changed owners----- maybe about a year ago but the same staff was kept. Which is great but something was off today with regards to the wait system they have in place. read more

First of all I just don't like to eat breakfast. Being vegetarian and don't even eggs there is not much I can eat st breakfast places. However, my wifey and 8yr old daughter love breakfast places and they both eat eggs just not meat. So I am usually stuck taking my amazing ladies to the new breakfast place one a month... ended up at this place cause batter up place had over 1hr lunch... loved this place. So friendly people. Wife ordered vegetarian omelette which was just absolutely great she wants to come back next time instead trying a new place. I ordered waffles nd have to say it was just perfect crispy and fluffy at the same time. Love it. I was craving for some good breakfast and I saw on yelp Sandy's Country Junction rating was high on yelp but for me it fell short and somewhat disappointing. For almost spending $60 with tip this would be my first and last time here. Had the following for this morning disappointing breakfast; Italian omelet 2/5 the eggs wasn't fluffy and it seemed over cooked there wasn't any flavor or anything to brag about. Patty melt 2/5 small portion and no wow factor. Pancake 4/5 nice and fluffy and I actually enjoyed eating it. Steak & Eggs 3/5 the steak was ok at best. Biscuit & gravy 2/5 so bland and the biscuit wasn't even mentionable. Service 4/5 service was friendly & fast but the food to me their food was only average nothing fancy or good stood out. Sandys Junction seemed pretty popular but to me nothing really stood out or any wow factor. I guess most people who comes here for their generous portions and for their ok food but to me I need more flavor and more exciting and flavorful food for my taste buds. read more

Good brunch stop in Old Town Clovis. This is your traditional brunch spot with everything from omelettes to waffles to biscuits and gravy with price ranges in the $7-12 range. I had read that the cinnamon roll was a must...it was really soft with the perfect amount of icing so I'm glad that I did. Nice outdoor seating with a very spacious inside so we didn't have to wait to get seated on a Saturday morning. Also the service was awesome here and I would def come back again. read more

I love this place, everything is yummy but their biscuits and gravy are to die for. Once you've had them nothing else will compare. Love the food and the service is the best. We just walk in and the server usually knows what we order. Everybody from the servers to guys/girls that get our drinks. Even on really busy days it does take a bit to get seated but they are busting butts to get you seated and get your food out to you! I recommend Sandy's to everybody I know! First time here! Everything was great! We usually go to rodeo but decided to change it up, and we weren't disappointed! First things first, very good service and we were seated right away. Orders taken, food comes out, and it's all great! Really good salsa for my omelet too! Prices aren't too bad, could be a little cheaper for the amount of food you get, but I got enough. The biscuits and gravy were excellent too. My only real complaint is parking. But that is more of an old town Clovis problem in general. If you are heading through Clovis, give this place a try. I decided to try something I've not seen elsewhere which was the Club Omelette. 3 eggs, sliced turkey, bacon, tomatoes, avocado, and cheese. Absolutely delicious. Served with country potatoes and sourdough toast. Fantastic! The coffee was hot and plentiful. If in Clovis. Check it out as they're only open for breakfast and lunch, 5am to 2pm. read more

Alright Yall -- let me tell you something... Customer Service - 5 Stars. The waiters/waitresses were excellent! After we got our drink order taken, we had 3 others ask us if we had been helped. Also, they were always there for any of our concerns as customers. The overall food - 3.5 Stars. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and the Biscuits & Gravy. Prior to reading this, I saw that there were a lot of positive reviews... but it was just subpar. Let's start with the Biscuits and Gravy. We get that it is common to smother the biscuits in gravy, but with about a gallon of gravy on the plate (Exaggerating of course)... come on, we don't need that much gravy. The biscuits were also just average. I appreciated that the hash-browns were made of fresh potato, but also they were very bland. Needed salt and pepper... again just average. The Chicken Fried Steak was also drenched in gravy. The steak was also very chewy and thick. (Good, but making it easier to eat would be convenient.) I've had a better experience from both Ihop and Dennys... and those are just okay. To conclude-- great service, but very much overhyped and not worth coming back. :-) read more

This is a great spot for getting your money's worth! We ordered two skillets with full order biscuits and gravy and fed 4 of us, and made my two growing teen boys full on a split meal. Being from Ohio it's been expensive for us to eat out as a family, but this was more than enough for us and inexpensive. Definitely a good deal. read more
