    Snack bar and changing area
    Dan R.

The positives- 1) the water is tranquil and the scenery is gorgeous. .2) parking is plentiful (Yes it costs $15) 3) The snack bar and changing rooms are very nice The negatives- If you equate going to the beach with walking across a gravel pit to take a dip in the Polar Ice Cap- this is your place. The absolute rockiest beach I have ever seen. Not rough sand by any stretch of the imagination-but a beach ranging from pebbles to medium rocks to baseball sized rocks. It was a hoot watching the beachgoers limp across the huge stretches of rocks, with shocked looks of disgust and disbelief on their faces. So if you stay on your lounge chair (no blankets on the rocks for me) and put your sandles on to traverse the lunar surface of the beach to take a dip up to your ankles - you'll be OK. If you want more, there might be better options.

It doesn't look as bad as it is. Really rocky and hurts your feet :/

NOPE. Nope nope nope. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but this place is not worth it. The view is wonderful; the ocean is blue and all but the sand is non-existent. When I think of a beach I think of sand and water. This had water. Like all the other reviews will state: ROCKS. Rocks all over. You can't enjoy any sort of games (i.e. frisbee, volleyball, football, etc.) , and you most certainly can't walk barefoot. The beach itself is free, but parking is $15. Just go somewhere else.

Just not feeling this beach. It's bayside. So no surf. Rocks are everywhere. So no going barefoot. Rocks are everywhere - so no sunbathing in the sand. I guess you could go for a walk here. But you need to wear shoes. Thick soled, steel toed boots will probably protect your feet. In October the ranger station is open to sign in hunters. Not sure if I was at risk of getting shot. Good thing I was wearing fuschia pink sneakers.

    Wear your flops!

Desolate beaches. The polarity of an early evening here can be extreme, with your time spent being buried neck-deep during low tide by Leslie Nielsen (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Ted Danson) to cruising largely undisturbed stretches of dune protected, practically pristine sands studded with stones polished by decades of a lapping surf. Fortunately, we had the latter. There's not much to talk about during the off-hours: parking is free, otherwise bored kids are getting ice cream at Four Seas and you'll have the place to yourself. Marvel at the washed ashore shark eggs, a jelly or two and a veritable chess set of crab skeletons, all while the occasional four-wheel drive cruises by at low speeds. (We only saw park vehicles, but the public is allegedly allowed to spit up sand in their Jeeps and what have you.) If a beach with few amenities is overcrowded and obnoxious, the scene gets old quickly. But Sandy Neck is large and long enough to relax and contemplate the grandeur of nature in the comfort of your selfness. Added benefit? Nobody can you see you shedding tears at the beauty of life. Softy.

GROSS WATER! If i could rate this 0 i would. This place shouldn't even exist. I went there to camp with my boyfriend and our friend and it was the worst experience. Not only were the employees rude and inconsiderate, but the walk to the campsite is absolutely ridiculous. We got there after 1 hour and a half walk with 1 backpack because someone offered to take our stuff down(very nice of those people who were not associated with the gatehouse employees). Employees actually got very angry when I told them someone did that for us. Told us we could have a dog then later on freaked out that we had a dog. The water they gave us was filled with gross stuff and algae or something was growing inside it. Never will we ever go anywhere in Barnstable again and no one should ever waste their time going there for their rocky ass beach or their shitty campsites with their unexplainable customer service.

Bathrooms, outside showers - very clean

My trip to Eugenia Fortes was quiet and peaceful. I talked to some local speedwalking moms (my people!) and got into some gossip about the local celebrity homes. (We're talking about you college scandal parents!) It was fun to catch up but then I was on my merry way. I wore my oversized sunnies, a flowy skirt, a big hat, and enjoyed my feet in the sand. Not many were on the beach and the dock was desolate. As I walked closer to the sands in front of JFK's home I quieted my mind and thought of what it must have been like for him to grow up here, to then use this place as his safe haven as a President, the losses this home felt, and in turn John John's plane being out in that water. Dried up crab shells were all around. I could pick up any shell I wanted. The sand was cool and soft under my feet. These moments all to myself, these grand old Americana homes on the water, the beautiful sun glistening on the ocean... I get it. It really is stunning and the legacy can be felt on your skin when the wind blows.
