More rocky and seaweed than craigsville beach, but if you love to find seashells, it's perfect. Has a bathroom and a snack bar so it's perfect for families.

Great little beach with beautiful views. It's a nice walk and see the boats coming out of the harbor.

Beautiful scenery, amazingly picturesque as far as Cape beaches go. Very nice jetty for that perfect vacation picture.

Kalmus Beach is Beautiful. Located in Hyannis Barnstable Ma. It has 2 sections. The right as you enter is facing Nantucket Sound and is popular for swimming and windsurfing. At the end is the main bath house snack bar and picnic area. You can buy food including salads and fresh fruit. Complimentary sunscreen in the bath house. A long walkway will then take you to the left part where sailboats are. There are lifeguards on each side. And even beach wheelchairs and walkways, which I appreciate as I cannot walk too well. ( Kalmus is family friendly and you can even rent beach chairs if you forgot them). But really just think of this beach as a little piece of Heaven on Earth that exists right here in Hyannis at the end of Ocean street!!

Large parking lots. Virtually nobody there after Columbus Day.

Sea wind and fog Kalmus is one of the quieter and nicer public beaches on this part of the Cape. Lots of smooth sand and the water has a nice easy drop off so it's a good beach for kids and poor swimmers. Of course like all Cape Beaches the water is really cold but it feels great on a hot summer's day. Various critters like crabs, jellyfish, starfish and shellfish come and go but for the most part Kalmus is free of annoying and painful beasties. But at certainly times of the year or after large storms you never know what's going to be sharing the beach and water with you. This part of the Cape can be very foggy in the spring or fall when the temps between the air and water have large differences. Certainly not a great time to swim but it is lovely to walk along the beach in the dense fog. And the moisture in the fog amplifies sound so you hear all kinds of weird and creepy things in the distance and out on the water. I believe the price of parking now is twenty bucks, not really bad for the Cape. And of course off season there is no charge. A pleasant beach in the summer if you enjoy laying around in the sun, but even better in the fall and winter when nobody is around except for the fog or perhaps the biting and screaming winds of a nor'easter.

Kalmus Beach is down the beach from the Hyannis Yacht Club & across the bay from the Kennedy compound. Binocs could show outdoor fun in the huge back yard. From the beach I watched the Ferry Boats going to & from Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket, then walked the jetty out a ways from the peninsula. A small Beach Restaurant serves fresh seafood. The building also has clean Restrooms & a Shaded Patio with Picnic Tables in the back. Parking is $20 in Season, or you can buy a $50/week pass @ the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (formerly the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Rink Building). Free parking after 4pm. Best Windsurfing Beach! Stunning Sunsets! Lots of seashells, sometimes seawood is a problem on the ocean side. Volleyball net is up & ready

Very nice beach. Parking is 25.00 but it allows access to other beaches and in and out travel.

Best beach for shells. Actual water is not as good as Nauset beach. Go after 4pm and the parking is free.

Calm water, snack bar, bathrooms, lifeguards and when we went, not that many tourists/anyone really on the beach.

My trip to Eugenia Fortes was quiet and peaceful. I talked to some local speedwalking moms (my people!) and got into some gossip about the local celebrity homes. (We're talking about you college scandal parents!) It was fun to catch up but then I was on my merry way. I wore my oversized sunnies, a flowy skirt, a big hat, and enjoyed my feet in the sand. Not many were on the beach and the dock was desolate. As I walked closer to the sands in front of JFK's home I quieted my mind and thought of what it must have been like for him to grow up here, to then use this place as his safe haven as a President, the losses this home felt, and in turn John John's plane being out in that water. Dried up crab shells were all around. I could pick up any shell I wanted. The sand was cool and soft under my feet. These moments all to myself, these grand old Americana homes on the water, the beautiful sun glistening on the ocean... I get it. It really is stunning and the legacy can be felt on your skin when the wind blows.
