    Nice water, no social distancing
    Brooke B.

Very upset at the lack of social distancing and protocols taken for COVID-19. There was a large rowdy group of 10+ people about 1 foot away from our small setup. There was no limitation on the volume of beachgoers. Far walk to the sand from the parking lots and bathrooms. Unfittingly, it was the most expensive parking in our experience on the Cape. Also, it was too rocky to properly walk on the shore. The only star it achieved is for the clear, warm, shallow, calm water.

    Low tide at dusk

Nice beach with tide pools to explore during low tide. It gets deep very gradually making it perfect for young kids. Some weeds seem to wash up, but isn't much of a hindrance.

My daughter spent 3 hours constructing elaborate drip castles with a tide pool.

Great beach for kids sandbar is fantastic. Nice soft sand great for building sandcastle.Calm water perfect for small children. Skim boarders were having a blast. There is a snack bar. Nice tables with umbrellas and a decent bathroom. Supposedly it was considered crowded on our day. But it didn't feel that way to me‍. But I'm a Jersey Girl, our beaches get crazy crazy packed where people are sitting 2feet apart. Seaweed was a bit off putting to my son. I didn't mind it. You need good chairs and pack your own drinks and snacks. $25. weekday for parking and the lot filled up by 10:30. If that happens go to Howes beach different lot same stretch of beach. Higher hill to climb to get on to the beach from that entrance. Interesting enough my husband noticed there are no garbage pails. We were careful keep our trash and dispose of it back in the parking lot.

This is the beach for watching the sunset. Beautiful views and not as crowded. There's also an amazing seafood shack without the amazing lines.

I love the beach, and would love to go. We tried to go at 11am last Monday and parking was full. We were so bummed. Go early!

Great beach. The water is not as clear as some of the other beaches, but the sand is soft and very nice.

A nice, albeit pebbly, beach - great to take the kids. Private - and best off season!

Our 4 year old met new friends each and every time here, the bathrooms were clean, the snack bar had frozen slushies and other treats.

It was about a 20 min walk (or 2 minute drive) from our cottage and free to get on to, which is unheard of in Jersey! You do have to pay for parking ($30 on weekends and $20 on weekdays) so that, plus the walk being the only form of exercise we all got for 7 days straight, was all the motivation we needed for skipping the car. The water was nearly dead still all week, no garbage anywhere and lifeguards were on duty most of the time. They made sure to clear the water when any sign of a storm was coming in and left us alone the rest of the time. One of my friends was terrified of sharks so she was a beach bum the whole time while me and my other friend would hang out in the water at least half the day. Sure, it was cold, but it was also SO hot on the sand, so super cold water was welcomed. I loved loved loved how not crowded this beach was. Again, coming from Jersey beaches, it's unheard of!! But we had so much room from other people and never felt like we were too close. A great place for a beach day (or week)!

He had invited friends and family down, we had discussed it and felt safe and comfortable with going. I rarely go to the beach, my fair skin, even with all the sunblock, ends up burning. However I try to go at least once a year for a swim, be it the ocean or a lake. The water, super refreshing on a hot summer day! Being about 60-something degrees, it was a shock at first, but then easily adapted to the temperature. The water was opaque from the seaweed being agitated, it was nice how deep the water got. However, 'Jaws' scared the crap out of me as a kid so I felt a little uneasy since it is not a harbor or bay, but just jutting along the open ocean on the outside portion of the Cape. So being in water where the seafloor drops off, in opaque water, made me a little anxious. The only good thing is knowing there are no seals nearby (sharks are attracted to areas with them, and attacks happen in less then 3 feet of water). Oh did I mention a tip is to not swim in murky water? Anyways, now that I have you paranoid about swimming here, the beach is beautiful and plenty of open space, and life gaurds are present.
