Today was my second time here and I wanted to order something a little bit lighter and with less calories. I got the shrimp salad sandwich which was outstanding. I could tell the shrimp was fresh, likewise the lettuce and other toppings. The last time I came here so ordered the meatball sandwich and it was good as well, however it was a lot of food and I was practically falling asleep by the afternoon. The other thing is that there were more people working here today so the ordering process was faster. I had a kombucha drink that I purchased earlier and the shrimp salad sandwich made for a complete and healthy lunch. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and my lunch was perfect!

I've been to this sandwich shop multiple times now, and every visit has been consistently excellent. I've tried a wide range of sandwiches on their menu and every single one has been flavorful, fresh and a great portion One of the best parts of coming here is the atmosphere. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, and it really makes a difference. You feel like more than just a customer. She always focuses on delivering great customer service. They also offer a selection of baked goods, and let me tell you they are THE BEST. The cookies and muffins are always baked to perfection.I would highly recommend this place!

We emailed months ago as requested and never got a response. Decided to give it another try and both of our sandwiches were wrong again. Mine was missing multiple toppings and had mayo added. We ended up just tossing the sandwiches and going elsewhere. For $15/sandwich after tax and tip it's just too much to have sandwiches with mistakes every time. Especially when some toppings are an extra cost and are then left off. If you try this place, I'd open your sandwich before leaving to be sure it's the one you ordered and isn't missing ingredients.

Quality ingredients and friendly staff. I had the roasted Eggplant sandwich and it was very tasty. I'll definitely be coming back.

For my first visit to Sandwich Republic I decided to try the Porchetta. This is a delicious sandwich, particularly if you get it with all of the optional toppings. It's pretty reasonably priced for the size and tastes great, so I'm planning on coming back to try a few of the others and see if I can find a favorite. As far as the restaurant itself is concerned, it's about what you would expect for a fast casual sandwich place. What really stood out to me though was how friendly and helpful the staff are here. The sandwich was ready in about five minutes and I left feeling really good about the whole experience. Thanks, Sandwich Republic!

I get the same sandwich every time - braised short rib. My goodness, this is a good sandwich. I'm not usually a sandwich person, but I finish this one every time (usually in two sittings). They are very generous with the short rib and it's just a very tasty meal. Highly recommend.

Glad to have found this place! The sandwich was so good, we went back the next day to try another option. From the moment you step in, you are warmly greeted with a smile. There are a lot of great options from hot/cold sandwiches, soup-of-the-day, and salads. The ingredients were fresh and the shop was very clean. We had the Reuben, Tandoori Chicken, and Meatball...which were all tasty and delicious! There are a few tables to dine-in and parking is a shared lot with other businesses. We will definitely be back...enjoy!

Brisket sandwich

The amount of meat on my brisket sandwich was extremely disappointing considering the sandwich itself sets you back above 17 dollars. Super disappointed/let down

Stayed at the Home Suites and Sandwich Republic was next door. Friendly service. I got the Italian and was very satisfied. The only glitch was trying to use the kiosk. It was flaky but I got it to work. The person at the counter was ready to take my order just in case. The sandwich was good. Overall, I would come here again.

I'm a big sandwich fan and generally make them at home because most shops don't add enough meet or toppings. I think I found my new sandwich shop. Checked out the menu and had to decide between the roast pork and broccolini or panko breaded fried chicken sandwich. Both sounded good, but after I found out the roast pork shoulder is made in house, the decision became really easy. My friends ordered the fried chicken with double chicken ($4.00 upgrade). The staff were very friendly and efficient. It was close to closing but everyone was super nice. They called us to pick up our orders and I was somewhat surprised by the feel of my sandwich. It has some heft to it. I sat down, opened it, and you can see what I had in the photo. Good bread can make or break a sandwich. My sandwich roll was slightly toasted with a good crunch and the inner part was nice and chewy. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of pork and broccolini and was covered in melted cheese and had a mayo/mustardy sauce. There was also just a touch of what tasted like crushed red pepper which just set the sandwich off. I was thinking Reading Terminal Market level of good. My buddies chicken sandwich was ridiculous. Two fried chicken breasts with all the toppings on a nice roll. It was tasty. This place is a real deal sandwich shop. The have the standard sodas and also have Dr. Brown's, Perrier water, San Pellegrino, draft beer, and other beers and seltzer drinks in cans. The chips are the Dirty and Route 11 chips. It's like they selected the best things to go with their sandwiches. Location is a little tricky to find and parking is tight, but it's totally worth the trip. I will definitely be back, but probably get everything to go. If you want a really good sandwich that is stuffed with filling for a fair price, you need to come here and try it out. You won't be disappointed!

Great customer service and overall, I would try them again. More of a grab and go restaurant. No tables or chairs to sit and eat. Capo Italian Deli - Old Town Alexandria…read more I reviewed our new Old Town neighbor - Capo Italian Deli - early in 2026. Time for an update. The deli is outstanding. Taking up a tiny footprint on the N. Washington Avenue thoroughfare, a few seconds from King Street, the deli delivers both hot and cold deli entrees, soft drinks, and salads. There's maybe half a dozen tables inside and a couple of tables outside, but from what I have seen thus far, most of the trade is with carry-out service, drawing from the excellent reputation Capo brought with it as it arrived in Old Town (the restaurant has siblings in Shaw NW, and Western Market in the District, Tyson's Corner in Vienna, VA, Annapolis and Potomac, MD). Fresh Philly rolls for those seeking a traditional hero sandwich, with go-to seasonings and all of the essential protein groups. My favorite is a large half roast beef half turkey with lettuce, tomato, and mayo (I skip the Italian dressing, which is part of the default, and I skip the cheese). I can and have made this $18 sandwich last three meals (so I ask them to cut the sandwich into three pieces), and the ingredients stay fresh for the next 24 hours. The last time I did this the sandwich fed me from 4:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., as I served as an election officer at one of Alexandria's polling places. Neat, trim, and completely satisfying. Just a point of concern: given its location, the opportunity to double-park while picking up an order seems to be just too tempting. This location, however, cannot over the long term sustain double-parkers. The deli is about 100 feet from the intersection of King Street and N. Washington Street. There is a dedicated lane for cars seeking to park adjacent to the deli. And then there are two northbound lanes on N. Washington Street. That's it - just two lanes serving one of the busiest intersections in Old Town. If a delivery-service car pulls up alongside one of the parked cars, all hell will break loose by drivers who suddenly find a delivery vehicle double-parking in front of Capo, leaving but one northbound lane open for however long it takes for the delivery agent to gather the order and beat it out of there. This happens with remarkable frequency, starting at about 11 a.m. and running throughout the day. That's not going to make good neighbors of Capo's nearby shops. Alexandria Parking has its work cut out for it, but here the rule prohibiting double-parking has to be enforced - it's both a safety issue and an issue of common courtesy. Doesn't matter if you think you'll just be in and out of the deli in seconds. We know it doesn't work that way, not always, and here - not even often. More often than not the double-parker will be creating a traffic hazard just by parking alongside a parked car in front of the deli. Please, don't do this.

My spud that did come was delicious, toasted, and full of flavor. The sandwich was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet with the crunch of the chips on it. Dear reader,…read more Potbelly in Springfield is one of those wonderfully reliable spots where you know exactly what you are getting, and I mean that entirely as a compliment. The location is convenient, there is plenty of parking, and ordering ahead for pickup is remarkably quick and easy. The staff are always nice, efficient, and keep things moving along nicely. My personal order is the chicken salad sandwich with provolone and extra mayo, and it is consistently on point. No unnecessary experimentation required when one has already achieved sandwich perfection. The milkshakes are also excellent. The coffee/cold brew variety is the reigning champion in my book, although chocolate deserves an honourable mention. The restaurant itself is always clean, familiar, and comfortable, with consistently good food at a fair price. It is exactly the sort of dependable lunch stop that keeps earning repeat visits.
