What a cute little sandwich shop! I must have gone at an off time because I didn't have to wait at all. I was happy to see that they use Boars Head meat-a definite plus. I put in my order then watched as they cut the meats and cheeses fresh for each sandwich. I grabbed some other items (drinks, chips, etc...) and brought them to the register. The lady working behind the counter was sweet. I asked her for cups and she offered plates and silverware too. The sandwiches were delicious and the bread tasted fresh as well. As I was finishing up, the lady asked if I wanted pickles and gave me 2 individually wrapped ones. Adorable and it made them easy to eat considering we didn't have a table.

Well as of recently we both have seen it shared a bit and decided to try it out. We both got the pan con chicharron sandwich . I ordered plantains as a side and he had fries - it was a $4 add on for a side which you save $2.50 each by adding it to the sandwich. The size of the sides are probably both worth the $6.50 on their own. The fries were your basic fries - probably frozen but good. The plain twins were fried nicely and had good flavor - I would have loved a dipping sauce with them. Now since the place is known for their chicken I wanted to try something with chicken. Well they had empanadas (not sure if this is always on the menu) and you could get 3 for $12 with a sauce. We did each of the 3 flavors they had available: Huachana Empanada (this is the house made Salchicha which is a Peruvian sausage w/ eggs), ham & cheese , and the chicken . The sauce I picked to go with them was their signature sauce - the aji pollo. The sauce I have never tasted anything like it - definitely interesting. The chicken empanada was very plain. The chicken definitely did have a unique flavor but was a little dry in the empanada - it was apparently cooked with the same sauce. The ham and cheese was my favorite - I loved the cooper sharp with the ham. The sausage also had a great spice! As for the sandwich the chicharron was cooked so well paired with the sweet potato and pickled onions it gave it a nice balance of sweet and salty as well as different textured bites. I will say overall that most of the items on the menu were a tad dry and could use a sauce or something - however overall the flavor was great. Everything came to $40 which wasn't bad. The restaurant was super clean inside, they had a few tables but we got takeout. It also looked like they served coffee and a few other things. Their online order menu definitely has more items listed than the regular menu. I definitely do want to go back and try the rotisserie chicken on its own with some other sides! A very filling meal though if you're looking for that !

When I went in there was just one girl working up front. She took my order which is a pretty consolidated menu - just a few good options of pizza, steaks and chicken cutlets and a few sides. I like that it isn't so giant. I knew I wanted to try the mozzerella sticks and I was debating between a cheesesteak and a cutlet sandwich. But also was toying with the idea of a meatball- specifically because I heard they had good sauce and I wasn't trying a pizza this trip. I went with the cheesesteak which on the menu boasts ribeye and a seeded roll. I ordered cooper sharp (usually I do American, this was the first time getting cooper sharp) and onions. Let me first say the steak was chopped perfectly the sandwich was heftyyy and it was loaded with cheese - all mixed in. Very good! Super tender meat. I will say that, personally, I'm used to getting a lighter cheese steak and adding sauce so this was definitely different for me but I can recognize how good it was. I did decided to order a side of meatballs to try - this was the only thing that didn't hit for me. They weren't bad but I would have liked more flavor. They were super tender though and I could tell they were homemade just as the menu says (hand rolled with a 200 year old family recipe) and the sauce - amazing! I topped that sauce on my steak and it was an elite combo for me as I, again personal preference, like to break up the cheese a bit. Overall the steak was really good and oh my gosh the mozzerella sticks- they were huge and the breading had such great flavor! Definitely a perfect pairing with their sauce. If I come back knowing how good the mozz breading is I definitely wanna try a chicken cutlet and pizza. The food came out super fast was super fresh. Definitely a good spot and I'm sure I'll be back!

There are no cashiers, but instead several touch screen kiosks laid out for you to place your order. There is a small window where you can visibly see the cooks in the kitchen. I ordered the Veggie Legendary with the Beyond Meat patty. Not kidding when I say the brioche bun makes it better, but overall this is one of the best tasting burgers I've had. It was hard to resist eating the whole thing. The patty had bbq sauce and mushrooms piled high on it. The cheese was melty and the fresh greens oozed out. Fries were hot and crispy. Their table setup is quite interesting - it's like a doctor's office where you remove the disposable paper from the bed after each patient, but in this case, from a table after each customer that dines. We did it ourselves and it was easy. We found seating for 4 pretty quickly, but it may be tricky for groups of 5 or more to find seats together. Cutesy artwork can be found on the walls along with a frame TV that had the Tiny Desk concerts playing. Prices were a little higher than usual, but it is New Hope so that's to be expected. We asked a woman in the kitchen for a to-go box and she provided one right away. The ratings here are accurate! A really great place for burgers and fries.

Their menu is displayed on large monitors which makes ordering a breeze. My father, brother and son have been on a Pizza tour all over the Tri-State area and Lucatelli's was our choice on a Sunday in November. We decided on a traditional pizza and a square grandma. I would describe their standard pizza as a cross between Trenton style tomato pie and traditional pizza you can find all over the Philly Area and burbs. The thin crispy base had the Tomato Pie influence but the abundance of cheese that would slide off is more traditional for eastern PA. The grandma was a square and was thinner they most I've had, crispy and overall was pretty good. I wouldn't put the Grandma in the upper tier but I wouldn't tell anyone not to try it. Tonight I passed on going to Steak on State and left disappointed with Lucatelli's once again. The sandwich I had tonight was like a completely different cheesesteak from the one that originally made this place stand out, and I've noticed similar issues with other menu items as well. The inconsistency has become the silent killer here -- inconsistent portion sizes, declining ingredient quality, and a lack of attention to detail. Lucatelli's is still a good restaurant, which is why this is disappointing to see. Winning the award has obviously brought in a lot of new customers wanting to try the cheesesteak, and with that comes higher expectations. My recommendation would simply be to get back to focusing on consistency, quality ingredients, and the small details that made the place stand out in the first place. If they do that, they should have no problem being in the conversation again for next year's award.
