I have tried Borough Bagels a few times and each time, I am less than pleased. The bagels here are hard, doughy on the inside and lacking outer ingredients. For instance, their "everything" bagels are really just sesame bagels, with a few poppy seeds thrown on. Manhattan Bagels is 100% better! I have been looking to try a new bagel place in the area and since I've already tried the other Doylestown establishment I figured I'd give Borough Bagels a go. They're not "in town" they're just outside closer to all the shopping centers. I tried ordering online but when I went to what appeared to be their website I got a notice that the website wasn't real and they were trying to impersonate the company and steal my info. Not sure if they have a website or not then or if it's just not secure. They also appeared to have kiosks in store but they were closed. They don't have a large variety of bagels, it's actually pretty minimal. You have to order them all at the counter. They had a paper menu printed too but there were no prices listed anywhere that I could find. I wanted a sandwich because my favorite bagel place in Warrington has amazing bagels but the contents of their sandwiches are lacking. I ordered a bacon egg and cheddar cheese on an everything. The quality of the egg and bacon was super good - fresh and tasty. However the bagel was a little lacking. I did order loose bagels too and had the same bagel toasted at home and it was delicious ! I'm thinking they didn't toast my sandwich which left the bagel a bit chewier. The flavor overall was great. I also picked up their cream cheeses and I loved the Jalapeño one ! Each 1/2 tub of cream cheese was 4.99, a half dozen bagels was 10.16 but you get 7! The sandwiches were 7.99 for sausage and 8.49 for bacon. Not a bad price overall. I'll probably be back in the future, I'd love to see more flavors - they don't even have a chocolate chip which is my fave! read more

While the food here is fantastic the staff are extremely rude. Doordashers flock to this store everyday and they are rude as well. I order my food from this store through doordash's pickup feature and they treat me like garbage because they think I'm a doordasher. It's not worth dealing with the staff even if their food is good. This attitude comes from the top down as I've first hand witnessed the owner treating doordashers like they aren't worth his time yet it keeps his business operating. If DoorDash is such a problem for this store that they treat people like garbage they should consider investing in their own form of delivery. I will not be returning. read more

Very disappointed in the direction borough bagels is going. I don't think we will be ordering from them anymore. Their portions for the prices are outrageous. 75 cents extra for tomatoes and 75 cents extra for onion and they give you a sliver of each. What a rip off. Staff were nasty and complaining to a child who ran in to grab a phone order about being "too early" and "impatient" although staff were aware on the phone that we were nearby and having issues placing an order online. Staff reiterated having told us "20 minutes" to literally toast and put cream cheese on three bagels when there was nobody literally in the store. Excellent bagel joint in Doylestown Borough. Small customer area, with room in back for ovens, preparation, storage and display case. The rounders have a crisp biting crust, while the inside has enough air pockets to keep it fairly light enough to allow the flavor of the topping (roast onion flakes) or whatever is added in the prep(butter & Swiss) to come through strongly. I appreciate the bagel baker who knows not to knead the dough too long, which hardens the bread and makes it too dense. Too, here they are boiled and then baked in the right proportion to create the optimal bagel. Having La Colombe and Ellis Coffee in house is also a big plus, as they are both top shelf Philadelphia roasters that have found success nationally and internationally. These Borough guys are not fooling around. They give their customers quality bagels and first class java for a fair price. It wouldn't surprise me if their success was assured and they grew their enterprise as far as they wanted to take it. read more

So I've gone to other bagel shops in the area and this one takes the cake. They don't open until 7 AM on Saturday morning which is a little late for me, but they allowed me to put an order in on GrubHub at 6:20 AM so that it would be ready when I arrived. My order was still hot and already ready for me once I walked in, so I only had to wait for other people to place their orders to ask for mine, which was waiting behind the counter. The super cinnamon bagel is a cinnamon, sugar bagel and it is absolutely delicious. I ordered a cup of Joe along with my bagel order and I'm not sure if they gave me a flavored one but I had a chocolate flavor that was delicious. I own and operate RUSSO'S Pizza in New Hope, and our worker was doing something in Doylestown and surprised me, my husband, our kids, and my sister with a bag full of variety bagels and homemade spreads. WoW! The bagel was firm where it needed to be and soft where it should be. The homemade Garlic & Herb, and Walnut Raisin spreads were, "out of this world!" As I said I own and operate a pizza place so I know..... I'm impressed and will support this business on their products alone! Bravo!!! As a Bagel Fanatic my very favorite bagel was Ess-a-Bagel in NYC. So much so that when we moved to the west coast I would pay a fortune to have them shipped over there. This morning was my first visit to Borough Bagels and I will recommend them! I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. There are other bagel shops around but Borough Bagels is actually cooking eggs on a flat too rather than heating up pre-made egg patties or cooking them in a microwave, and it totally shows. The store is on the small-ish side, modern aesthetic which I love, and the bathroom was the nicest I've used in a long time. Another perk is the touch screen ordering because at 6:45a I will avoid talking to people for as long as possible! Suggestions: better chairs - what they have aren't padded and don't match the modern decor. It was wonderful to try borough bagels on their grand opening day. The bagel shop has about six tables, and counter service. The ordering process is either at the counter or using a computer screen, which more resembles the experience at Wawa. The choices of bagels and cream cheese are extensive, with the usual suspects (onion, everything, garlic, poppy) along with less traditional flavors (cinnamon-raisin, blueberry etc.). There is also a large selection of flavored cream cheeses to put on the bagel from the usual (veggie, scallion, and lox) to my favorite and rarely seen olive cream cheese. They also serve made to order breakfast sandwiches with the eggs cooked fresh on the grill and offer non-traditional toppings such as avocado. They offer a lunch menu that includes sandwiches, salads and fruit bowls. There are still some kinks to work out. The online ordering system does not match the bagel and cream cheese offerings, nor does the system allow you to customize your sandwich easily (toast the bagel more, etc.) The coffee from La Colombe is offered in large containers but there was no indication what coffee it is, (decaf, regular, dark roast?). The cream and milk are stored in a small fridge on the counter near the coffee dispensers but that will create quite a logistical nightmare during peak hours. Finally, there were not even any paper menus, simply the online menu and a lighted menu board high over the counter. No doubt these are little kinks that can be fixed over time. read more

Blech. I cannot believe I'm using this word to describe this place, but my bagel and cream cheese was disgusting. My egg everything bagel was burnt. I specifically asked for lightly toasted. I know they can't always do a lightly toasted by burnt? A big no no. They must use a sub par cream cheese as my veggie cream cheese was gooey. Cream cheese is not supposed to be gooey. My husband ordered a sesame bagel toasted, which turned out good, but his cream cheese which was just plain cream cheese was also gooey. It was really disgusting. The coffee was over roasted and not hot. People in the community rave about this place but I am not seeing at. This is the second time I've gone and the everything on my everything bagel fell off both times. The cream cheese was gross. The coffee wasn't hot. We visited Borough Bagels twice. We enjoyed our food both times. The first time we got bagel sandwiches (sausage, egg and cheese). And the second time we got bagels with spreads (mine was lox) and my husband got plain. The bagels were soft and had a good texture. I absolutely love that they have La Colombe cold brew coffee. We like this place for a quick bite to eat. I can see the issues with the slow service. They definitely need to become more efficient, especially with the morning rush and busy times on the weekends. I am confident they will get this piece sorted out in the future. We will continue patronizing Borough Bagels for their wonderful food, coffee and friendly service. read more

Really enjoyed the flagels they offer! They are basically flattened bagels without all the bread. I got the everything flagel with plain cream cheese, and it was very filling and yummy. The flagel was large, but didn't have all the extra bread in the middle! Highly recommend. Also, they do have kiosks in the shop to order your food, however you still have to pay at the counter. I wish they had a system where you could also pay at the kiosk. Overall, I would recommend the flagels if you are not into all the bread that usually comes with a bagel! read more
