Wow! My older pool filter unit was leaking from the exhaust outlet on the filter compartment. And…read morethe lines had a lot of air in them as evident from the floating pool sweep and the air coming out every morning at start up. I was thinking a replacement of the entire filter system was in order. Called NPS to take a look, and had to set up an appointment. Nelson from NPS inspected the system and ran the filter. I was out of town at the moment, and he called me and gave me some great advice. He agreed it was old system, but wanted me to troubleshoot a couple of things before deciding to replace. Even though the replacement price seemed reasonable to me. I got home from vacation, followed Nelson's instructions. After removing the filters and testing the pressure without the filters, I decided to buy new filters myself and replace. Runs great! No replacement of the system needed. The trip to diagnose was free and didn't cost me a thing for NPS. They didn't try to sell me something I thought I needed. They were only interested in finding the cause of the issue and letting me know what should be done. I still have an older filter system, but it is running great. And when it gets to the point of needing replacement, I know where to go! Five stars for sure! Thank you Nelson and NPS Pool Service!

From start to finish Jeff was thorough. He promptly returned phone calls. He scheduled a visit and was on time. He assessed my needs and provided me options on pumps and heaters. He patiently answered questions. We discussed options that would also qualify me for available rebates that I didn't even know about. He delivered and installed the goods. He was meticulous with his work and clean up. He showed me how to operate both the pump and heater. I was impressed and said if I need other service I'd reach out again. Fast forward to this week when my pump decided to spring a leak. Almost looked pin size but water sprayed all over. I called Jeff on a weekend and he promptly replied. Within 48 hours he was here with a new filtration system as it was determined in our phone chat the unit was out of warranty and beyond repair. 25 years is a long filter life. Today he installed the new unit. From start to finish which was about an hour he made sure the filter was operating. He achecked my pool cleaner and replaced a hose. I'm super satisfied. I'd highly recommend Jeffrey and his business Hands down. Thanks Jeff for coming out today to replace my actuator on very short notice. I appreciate you walking me through over the phone how to get the spillway on manually so the spa spillway could circulate. Thanks for your customer service and professionalism and honesty. Also I'm so thrilled with the automatic chlorinator you installed a couple months ago! Thanks for the recommendation!

I began to notice they wouldn't show up and when they did they were only here for maybe 5 minutes and did a poor job, there were always leaves and bug floating on the surface immediately after they left. On multiple occasions I saw the pool guy smoking a cigarette in the corner of my yard, I found this extremely unprofessional. The whole time I was with Nor Cal pools my salt levers were extremely low and I was being charged for salt. I had my water tested in May 24' a couple days after their last visit (note they came twice in May but were a no show for the last 2 weeks of the month) and found only 20% of the levels were within range. I called and cancelled my pool service and received an invoice with some inflated charges. I spoke with Bryan via text about the charges and he adjusted the invoice and hoped we could move on. Fast forward to today 7/8 and I get a certified letter that I actually had to sign for. The letter threatened legal action for unpaid invoices... this was frustrating due to the fact that I still have a card on file with NC pools. I sent Bryan a text letting him know I would pay the amount we agreed upon back on 6/3 not the new amount with $60 in late fees. I sent him a screen shot of our text when I set up the card on file that he said he could auto charge. A few minutes later I get an email saying my card was charged but not for the agreed upon amount. I didn't get an apology for the unnecessary letter, no "my bad" for not charging the card on file or even an acknowledgement of my email. I am a believer in small businesses and like to support locally but I expect honest service and integrity in return.
