It is my pleasure to share with others my great experience with Quality Clear Pools and the owner JEFFREY JOHNSTON. A few years ago Jeff installed a new pump and heater for my pool n spa. From start to finish Jeff was thorough. He promptly returned phone calls. He scheduled a visit and was on time. He assessed my needs and provided me options on pumps and heaters. He patiently answered questions. We discussed options that would also qualify me for available rebates that I didn't even know about. He delivered and installed the goods. He was meticulous with his work and clean up. He showed me how to operate both the pump and heater. I was impressed and said if I need other service I'd reach out again. Fast forward to this week when my pump decided to spring a leak. Almost looked pin size but water sprayed all over. I called Jeff on a weekend and he promptly replied. Within 48 hours he was here with a new filtration system as it was determined in our phone chat the unit was out of warranty and beyond repair. 25 years is a long filter life. Today he installed the new unit. From start to finish which was about an hour he made sure the filter was operating. He achecked my pool cleaner and replaced a hose. I'm super satisfied. I am late on posting a review for Jeffery and his company, but better late than never! Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, my significant other and I had to do some cut backs on our finances and had left a pool company that we were using for years. We started doing our own chemicals, cleaning, and services and we had a lot to learn. My husband had the mishap of inserting our filter cartridges incorrectly in our Hayward (we found this out later), making the PSI jump from 12 to 20. We were in a panic trying to get someone out at last minute to take a look. We hired Mark with Above and Beyond Pool service, and although when he came to assess why our PSI is high, he told us it was normal and "those gauges can be faulty". He did not attempt to open our filtration system, he re-programmed our pump to run at split times in the day, ran the RPM's incredibly high, and charged us an expensive sum to not have the problem looked at or corrected. About a week later, we contacted Quality Clear Pools. Jeffery had accommodated us next day which I am certain was a tight squeeze in his schedule. He came prepared with an assistant and immediately went right to work trying to find the issue. He had even noticed a clog in our salt filter that is not in use, but potentially creating high PSI for the filter, our pool company we were using for a year hadn't even attempted that kind of care with us! Jeffery had found the cartridges that were placed incorrectly (expensive mistake!) and provided us some "Pool School" for tracking chemicals, running the pump RPMS and quotes for replacing our communication board as well. Unfortunately, we are still not on our feet to replace the board, but once we are, we will be using Quality Clear Pools and have been recommending them to everyone we can. Had the pleasure of working with QCP a couple of weeks ago. My pump went out and unfortunately it turned out the only smart option was to really upgrade my entire system (90%). I reached out to QCP and owner Jeff after reviewing the comments here. My experience could not have gone better. My salt cell had a crack in one of the unions attaching the cell to the plumbing. The crack was so bad I had to shut down the filter pump completely! With the temperatures rising this problem needed to be repaired immediately!! I called several companies to have the the repair made , but they could not do the repair for several weeks.
