Once I had a difficult key I needed to copy, and after going to three different places this was and is the only place that was able to copy the key . 2001 Corolla needed a spare key. No transponder No remote. Just needs a blank key to start the car and open the doors. When I was at the Costco and the Key Van was outside, they quoted me $63 showed me a picture then showed me the dealership average price. I told the guy this car has no remote and no transponder. How many unsuspecting people young and old get the same info and decide to buy. Always call Sanders to make sure. This place is the most honest and reliable place around whether you deal with the boss/owner or anyone else. $6 bucks a key and I only needed one, but got two. The last time I came in here the team member said ok we need to order the key, but for $5 bucks more we can order you a blank key with remote. Turned out the used car I bought had use for the remote key for doors and trunk release. This is what I'm saying. Sanders is the best. I refer everyone there. read more

If you want to use this place, call first. And if you call, make sure you're very specific on what you will be needing them to do when you get there. And if you don't interrogate whoever picks up the phone enough and show up when they don't have anybody to make a key, then the lady will tell you that you're wrong and it's your fault for showing up. I called and was very specific that I needed a key made and to make sure they were open. The gentlemen said yes they do that and they'd be open another hour. When I showed up thirty minutes later, an hour before closing, a lady said that they had no tech there to cut keys. Now mind you, this is Sanders Lock & Key who doesn't have anybody there to make keys during business hours. And when I said I called, she snarky responded "well you didn't talk to me". Well I talked to somebody who worked there and he said to come on down. Fortunately there was a place in Covina that handled it. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I have long used this business but prices have suddenly skyrocketed. I went in yesterday for 6 copies of a house key and the bill was $45. It was a five-minute job. Had a damaged lock on my truck from a break in. Dealer quoted me $667 for new lock, cylinder and keys. Even so the same damage could be done again. I contacted a locksmith and he quoted me $250. I called Sanders Lock and Key in San Dimas and the asked me if I could bring the vehicle in that morning. I did and they repaired the problem for $65. When I was a kid, there was a key maker in a very small, stand alone building up the street from us. The building looked like a tiny house and the man, a slight, demure, vertically-challenged gentleman in his 60's, would read the newspaper in there all day. Every once in a while, my mom would go get keys and I loved going with her to say hello to the man in his little house. I'd stand on my tippy toes and watch his machine whirr and buzz until a shiny new key plopped out of it. Sanders Lock & Key is not a tiny house but there is a kind woman who is here ready to make copies of your keys. I pulled up into their parking lot on a weekday, put on my mask nice and snug, and walked up to the outdoor counter. Sanitizer was out, next to a sign that said to ring the bell. I gave it a ring, sanitized the tip of my finger and the lady was out almost immediately. She was wearing a mask, which I very much appreciated. She asked what I preferred (key wise, of course), took my key to the back for a couple minutes and came right back out with a perfect copy. I handed her a few bucks, said thank you and was on my merry way. I didn't get to watch her machines whirr and buzz, but at this point in my life, I already know the drill. I appreciated the COVID precautions, her speed and efficiency and of course, the reasonable price. Plus, it's better than going to Lowes or Home Depot. The 1975 British Triumph TR6 that I now own and is in the literal middle of my yard and has no keys. I have searched high and low for a competent locksmith to just cut just an ignition key for my investment so that I may steer this car.
