Hello everyone, really quick review about Atlantic Lock and Key if you have a " smart " vehicle key and need to have a new key cut and programmed to get you rolling, give them a call, i had two other auto lock smith tech's come out to my home and both left scratching there heads saying, take it to the dealership. I said no way, luckily another Autotech referred me A L & k and got me going. Now it was costly but the dealership would have well you know what I'd say. Someone tried to break into my vehicle and damaged my key cylinder. After a quick call to the Downey dealership across the street I was quoted with a price tag of 800+ for repairs. The part was only $80 so I decided to reach out to Ricardo at Atlantic Lock Key. Let's just say he saved me over $650 in labor - amazing. Ricardo quickly diagnose the issue and revealed a small broken plastic piece on my handle that the dealership had not even found in their movie mouse inspection. Came to get a copy of my keys and the guy was so rude. Then I got home to try the copy of the key he made and it didn't even work. Literally wouldn't open the lock. I went to go fix it and the girl working the counter suggested it was an issue with the lock. And then told me the actual locksmith wasn't in and I would have to come back later LOL go somewhere else. read more

The guy that answered the phone was super rude and condescending. I need a simple locksmith and he was annoyed that I wanted him to drive up to my location he wanted me to remove the hardware from all the doors and take them to him rather than he drove up to the location. Rick is a one man wrecking crew - he's the one running the shop. Although his people skills are not the greatest, it can easily be overlooked by his low prices. His prices are the lowest around trust me I've checked. Basically, I needed a fob (remote) key for a chevy Tahoe 04. He said $45 used, and $65 new. After speaking to him I shopped around and I spoke to other nearby locksmith and their prices ranged from $95 - $110. Since I was looking for a reasonable price I automatically ignored going to the dealer. So yeah, no brainer I ended up going to Rick. read more

I had a key that broke in half. The owner gave us a good quote. Once we got there, the guy said he could not guarantee the key would work since it was broken in half. Long story short, the wanted to charge a $50 travel fee plus $15 to make the key. I called another locksmith who was able to replica the broken key within minutes. read more

I just left this place dissatisfied. This is the second time I have come in here and they were unable to make a copy of a key. The first time it seemed to be the branding of the key. This second time because the ownwers machine is broken and it is too expensive to fix for this specific type of key making.. So what can they make copies of? So I had to by one of their locks and make duplicate keys because I needed three. The clincher was as I handed her my credit card I am told it would he better if I pay with cash because they charge $2 for taking credit. Really?! I don't usually carry cash around. Their store advertises they accept credit but no where does it state that their is a fee for using it. This upset me and although I mentioned that no where does it say about the charge for credit, all the cashier did was shrug her shoulders. I am not coming back to this place. Called them out to help re-key my place... and they came out the same day. They were quick and called me back when they said they would. The cost is reasonable... just remember that each part of the lock is charged the fee. So, if you have a deadbolt and a knob, and they both need to be serviced, it's going to be a charge for each. There were no issues with the service, and they had all of their own equipment. Great Job! read more

I got to say Ricky and his staff are incredible they were able to help with my issue . I had a problem with my key I needed to program it and less than 10min they were able to help me. Lost the key to a 1974 Porsche 714, called everyone around-- no one wanted to come out till I found Atlantic Lock & Key. Came out it started pouring rain so he removed the door handle to finish at the shop (I didn't know if used the same key). The door key didn't work in the ignition so he stayed to make a new key, so I have both new keys at a great price. I would recommend to a Friend. read more

Came in to have my car key made. Guy insisted it was a programmed key and would cost $65. I said ok. He said wait would be 15 minutes. 40 minutes go by and he said it's not working. He then asked do you have a remote start. I said yes. Oh ok you just need a regular key. Again you can tell if you had bothered to look. He comes back in and says your car doesn't start. Really!! He calls car stereo place and asks for help. Guy tells him he can't come. Then Rick tells me he has some job he's got to finish. I'm sorry he needs to fix this mess. My car won't start. WTH. I got on phone with car stereo place thank god they remembered me and agreed to come help me. He even said why would the guy not check the key. I said I have no idea. He acted like he knew what he was doing (Rick). I will NEVER come back. You had no regard that I sat here for over 2 1/2 hours and my car don't start. Oh by the way dealer said key costs $35 for a programmed key for my model car. What a rip off. Who would have thought I would have had such a damn disaster. read more
