I finally had a chance to check out this spot in OneC1ty with a few friends, and I already can't wait to return! Sandbar has something for everyone - it's dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and has a wide variety of beverages to choose from. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Leah, who was incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. She explained that all of their mixed drinks are available non-alcoholic as well, to be able to cater to anyone who visits. I ordered a Cucumber Margarita, which was sweet and refreshing. I brought my pup along for happy hour, and she loved getting to play in the sand with some of the other dogs. My friends tried and loved a few of the pouches, which are basically adult Capri Suns. The sand volleyball courts are a nice addition - even if you don't want to play, it's always fun to watch. You can reserve a court or even join one of their 4v4 or 6v6 leagues. Sandbar wraps up its 2024 season on November 23, and you can keep up with their dog meet-up days on social media. read more

Stumbled upon this place after going to a little crafters market that was being held right next to it! Super cute little space to hang out at when the weather is nice in Nashville. Super kind bartenders as well. My boyfriend got one of the drink pouches and I went and got some pretty decent ice cream at the cute KoKos ice cream spot that was attached to the space. It was really nice to sit and enjoy the nice weather while watching some people play volleyball. Always happy to find new cute little corners and spaces to hang out at in the city :) read more

Being a(n indoor) volleyball player for almost two decades but having dipped my toes in sand volleyball a bit more than half a year ago, I've been wanting to come to Sandbar since I heard about it many months ago. Finally got to come as part of a Spanish language exchange Meetup, and it was a great time! So much outdoor space, and even the bar areas is basically outdoors although there is a spot where there's a roof. Two courts, I don't really know how sign-ups work since I didn't do that part of it, but it was fun. Benches on the side for people to watch / warm up, great spot to hang out! Sandbar has been on my Nashville bucket list ever since it opened, and I was so excited to finally go. I started with a pineapple and kiwi pouch which was bigger than any spiked pouch drink I've ever had. I felt it was a little light on the alcohol side but the flavor very well could have just masked it (I wasn't watching the pour). Next, I tried one of Sandbar's famous coconut drinks. Wow oh wow. I opted for the banana-flavored rum which is a match made in heaven when poured into a coconut. It was one of the most refreshing alcoholic beverages I've ever had. The atmosphere and vibe was made for a warm breezy day like the day we visited. Everyone at the bar was so friendly, and we even met the owner, Leah, who was also making drinks. The music selection was near perfect and we loved getting to watch the volleyball games. I will most definitely be back the next time I'm longing for a good drink and a beach day. read more

This is a nice little bar in a great location. It is adjacent to Koko's ice cream and near the sand volleyball area. The sun was out and the weather was perfect for a tropical drink, so I decided to get a coconut. The service from the staff was cool and friendly. I ordered 1 coconut drink and then selected the kind of rum I wanted to add. A hole was drilled in the coconut and banana rum was poured in. Sandbar is a awesome bar in OneCity! The bar is mostly outdoors with a covered area and areas of shade. It's complete with 2 sand volleyball courts to play volleyball on. Drink wise they hav fun drinks that come in coconuts or large "capri-sun" drinks. They also have plenty of beers and seltzers including local drafts. No food but Avo next door has great options. Also allowed to bring food or order delivery to Sandbar. Note some nights do have designated league play. read more

Very cool concept, friendly to pets which is a huge plus! I was in Nashville for 2 days... I was walking my two dogs and came across this storage container conglomerate hosting the Sandbar (as well as a specialty grocery and some other businesses that weren't open at the time of my visit). The bartender was thoughtful enough to put ice water in the dog bowl I requested, big plus! Ordered a hard Italian Grapefruit soda which was perfect for the weather, they use an upside down keg system so don't play with the little disc in the bottom of your drink unless you want to get the deck drunk. I watched two different groups play beach volleyball: one a very focused/athletic team with well fitting bathing suits, and another of regular folk just trying to be active, reacquaint themselves with the game and have fun- both were really enjoyable to watch. There is a shower installed next to the court which seems like an incredible addition most bars should have. Getting sweaty playing volleyball OR it's super hot and you're in some cotton/quick dry and just rinse off! Only con- which should be stated by the bartenders immediately when opening a tab- THEY AUTHORIZE FOR $50 AND IT TAKES DAYS FOR THE CHARGE TO BE REMOVED. I was on a road trip and this was alarming to say the least on a $14 bar tab.... Otherwise it's a really unique idea for a hot weather bar atmosphere. read more

I had the BEST time here. The bright colors for everything added so much personality to this place that I felt immediately happy when I got there. I love all the tropical drink options like the Pina colada pouch that I ordered (with rum), and then the pineapple & kiwi (with vodka) that my friend ordered. Both tasted fantastic and they probably tasted better because of the super fun atmosphere. We also could have gotten our drinks in a pineapple or even a coconut! With drinks in hand we got to sit back and watch a bunch of volleyball players and see families and puppies!!! We rented the Pavilion for a going away party and had a great time. It is a covered space with the sand courts on one side and the Sand Bar on the other. The drinks were great and the service and staff were excellent. At some point there was a quick rain shower, the Pavilion is covered so that was fine and even nice to watch form there. And as it cleared a nice cool breeze blew through it, and if you looked on the sand courts you almost felt like you where sitting on a beach. Great night and thanks to Leah and the staff! read more

It's a neat spot. Some of the drinks are kinda-sorta reasonably priced. They had a decent selection, but only a few beers on tap. They also didn't seem to have any blended frozen drinks, which is a must for a tiki bar/beachy spot IMO! (FROZEN/BLENDED piña coladas, daiquiris, and rum drinks would be a lot better than some of those flavors put in a bag with ice like they currently offer. Perhaps they don't do the frozen/blended drinks because it takes more time? Please consider a selection of frozen/blended drinks, Leah. Mudslides, etc.. My wife said her server was friendly -- I didn't find my server to be particularly friendly, however. There were a lot of boozed up young folk and middle-aged women hanging around the bar area, which can clearly get pretty cramped. The adjacent OneCity area, volleyball courts, and covered dining area add a lot. Not sure if that should all be attributed to Sandbar specifically, but SB is a beneficiary of it, either way. There are some hazardous steps, fences without rungs, and unkempt/splintery deck planks to be aware of if you have little children or over-imbibe. All in all, okay bar, neat atmosphere. There's a good-sized parking lot behind AVO & CrossFit that's handy, although it was full around midday. I believe you can park there free for 4 hours. Let's be honest, though. If you're there for more than 4 hours, your car should probably be booted or towed because you probably shouldn't be driving. We were able to snag a street spot right behind SandBar and I believe there may also be free parking in a garage nearby. Lots of development/apartments going on/up around SandBar, so I think you may only have another 1-2 years to visit here without it being a complete zoo 24/7. read more

Sandbar is awesome but it would be nothing without Lindsay- great drinks and wonderful atmosphere but I specifically come here when she's bartending. She knows how to wield a beverage like the volleyball players know how to spike a ball. Endless entertainment rain or shine when she's working because her conversation style is so relatable and intuitive yet... so real. She can ask me about my life and pour me a drink that'll open my heart at the same time. Besides all the logistical reasons she rocks, she's also easy on the eyes. We were invited to attend an event at Sandbar sponsored by Nashville SC. While I had seen their volleyball courts before from the windows of AVO, I'd not yet visited this beachy-vibe bar. As we walked in, I felt overdressed and as though I should remove my shoes. (Don't worry, I didn't.) We made our way through the crowd in a cornhole area (Heck YEAH!), past some picnic tables, and to the bar. We were immediately greeted as we snagged two seats at one end. Nashville SC had given us each a ticket for our first beer, which was a choice between either Music City Light or another standard domestic that completely escapes my memory at this moment in time -- like a Miller Light or something. Anyway, clearly I chose the Music City Light. It's local and was new-to-me. Turns out it's not too shabby for a light "beer, one each". My bad militant references aside, we found the atmosphere to be light, fun, and actually a bit relaxing. The sunset viewing from the bar is pretty good too! While Sandbar doesn't serve food, on the night we visited a vendor was on site selling a few seafood dishes. Of course, AVO is next door, or you can order delivery, etc. There's food to be had all around. We had a lot of fun watching some bevvys being served in coconuts -- holes are drilled in them with glittered drills. I said, GLITTERED DRILLS y'all. Way to speak to my lil' feisty festival self! We also watched the creation of one of their new concoctions from the other end of the bar; it included a melon and a mixer. We heard the mixer is gonna get bedazzled next! Woot! A TV isn't standard here, but they'll bring it out for special events and for Preds watchin'. (Another speak, this time to my hockey heart.) We were very impressed with the level of service we received...and not just from one employee, but from them all! Anytime any one of the bartenders were in our general area, they'd stop long enough to ask if we needed anything. There was definitely none of the "these are my customers and those are yours". Everyone legitimately seemed to be a team player. Since this bar is 100% outside, I wondered how they handle the super cold months of winter. Simple answer: they close for awhile until it warms up again. Makes sense. I enjoyed my time here more than I thought I would, really. I will definitely be back for a little vacay vibe in the middle of the city...and for more of that amazing Gosling's All Natural Ginger Beer! A great location to kick back and relax on a Sunday, or really any day of the week. The drinks are flowing, the music is playing, and the volleyballs are bouncing. It's a very fun atmosphere, without being overly crazy. There's tables, lounge chairs, or plenty of space to bring out some blankets and lay out. With two sand volleyball nets, this is a great place to come out with a few friends and play a round before grabbing a drink. Speaking of drinks--they have some fun options! 2 for $20 coconuts (they literally drill a hole in the coconuts and then add liquor), pineapple mimosas (that you drink out of a pineapple), and frozen boozy slurpees. You are guaranteed to have a fun time here. The only small, small downside--no food :(...but you are able to bring food/get food delivered if you are hungry! The communal indoor seating for the area wasn't open when we visited. The Paloma tasted liked there was beer in it and no grapefruit or tequila. The bourbon and lemonade was ok. The people were nice but there are too many great bars in nashville. It wouldn't be our first choice for another visit with places like the goat available. I appreciate that they had a vendor offering seafood here but it wasn't even close to fresh. The shrimp was mushy but had a good flavor. read more

I came here for the second time about a week ago, with a small group of friends. We found free parking in the parking garage around the corner which was great. I chatted with the bar tender for a few minutes and he highly recommended the juice pouch. I agreed it sounded good and ordered the pina colada juice pouch. It's important to note the menu doesn't have prices... well you know what they say, if you have to ask you can't afford it. I didn't ask and I still couldn't afford it! My juice pouch was $18! It was also huge and he told me it was the equivalent of either 2 or 2.5 drinks so it was a great deal. Well all of this would've been great info to know before ordering... I'm pretty small and I can't have 2 drinks in 30 minutes and be good to drive. He told me it was all freshly made juice and it really was delicious but as a grad student, I can't be paying $20 for a drink! Generally, this is a really cool place and great in the summer. Cool but odd place. I saw this recommended on several lists of places to go and things to do in Nashville, so I figured it would be a popular place. The area itself was very cool but it seemed new and had a very low number of people around the area. We got here around 4:30 PM on a Saturday and it was essentially dead other than a few other people there. The place is fairly large and spread out (primarily all outdoors), so it felt very empty even with a few other people there. We realized after getting there that the place is seasonal, so maybe we just weren't there during the right time / month for it to be more popular and busy. You can get drinks made inside of a coconut, pineapple or watermelon!!!!! So I thought that was dope (basic, but still, I'm about it!) What we ordered - 2 of the famous coconut drinks (something along those lines; it's the first drink listed under the coconut drink options); made out of the natural coconut water inside of the coconut and coconut rum! Very light and refreshing!! Not entirely sure how much, I'd any, alcohol was put into the drink but I felt very healthy after drinking it (lol) 2 watermelon margarita pouches; these are really big pouches with a lot of liquid. The watermelon juice tasted really fresh but for something so sweet, it was a very large volume for one to drink.
