Sand Dollar Pools was recommended to us by Leslie Pools Supplies in late March 2025. We have need of our concrete decking around our built-in pool to be resurfaced (stress cracks). I reached out via San Dollar Pools' website requesting a call back. No one called back so I called the next day. Larry, the office guy, said that Elliot was the person who I needed to talk to and he said Elliot would call me back. Two days later: Nothing! I called again and got the same spiel from Larry: Elliot will call me back, and NOTHING! Apparently, Sand Dollar Pools' phones work but no one else does. "The amazing product to lower our cyanuric acid (cya) suggested by Sand Dollar pools worked! We are so happy! My husband has a weakened immune system and as the cya raises from the desired range, he starts to get sores on his legs and arms. The doctor told him it was the pool chemicals and we thought he would not be able to use our wonderful pool anymore. In 2020, Sand Dollar drained our pool, resurfaced it and replaced all our tiles. It was and is a beautiful pool and draining and refilled fixed the high cya level. Now, in 2025 the cya is high again (make sure you don't use chlorine tabs if your cya is high). We thought we needed to partially drain or completely drain the pool water again as his skin started to show the stress again. David (SDP owner) suggested a new product that he used and was successful for his pool. It went in our skimmer basket and we ran the pump 24/7. Our cya was 139 (very high) and I didn't think it would work. They brought the product over, explained to follow all directions and a week later, we are at a cya level of 50. PERFECT level! Wow! I received exceptional service from Elliott and Larry at Sand Dollar and this will be my new go-to place for all things pool. I'd never heard of them, but when my Maytronics robot stopped "robot-ing", I found them online and when I called, Elliott was very personable and friendly on the call, so I dropped off my non-working machine. Both Larry and Elliott were great throughout the process, kept me updated, and never tried to upsell me on anything. I got my robot back within the week and looking better than new! Service was exceptional - and that's a challenge to find these days. Robot is working like a dream and the repair cost was more than reasonable - so much better than buying a new one. I contacted Sand Dollar to find a leak outside my pool and I hired a company last year to fix it. Elliot said that they would charge a one time fee to find/fix it. He sent Carlos who seems to know everything about pools, pipes, equipment and he found & fixed the problem in a few hours! read more

David the owner came out to look at the pool. Knowledgeable and very down to Earth. I was ready to sign.... after the initial quote. I called numerous times and would be told I would get a call back. A week went by and no call or email. I had to go in person and happen to meet with Elliot (only because he was there). Elliot never responded to Emails and of a phone call. It took another week to get a response via email. I had the money for the entire project and due to their poor customer service I've had to go elsewhere. I totally understand this is the busiest time of the year, but a simple message to keep me in the loop would've been good. read more

After having used this place in the past, and being mildly satisfied, my opinion has changed. Recently they came to service my pool, same scope of work as last year, mind you, and the cost appreciated more than 20% ( additionally - last year parts for the equipment were necessary. Not the case this year.). When I inquired as to why the higher cost after not even needing the parts this year, David broke the costs down for me and it was discovered they are charging over $95 an hour for their service. Really??? Someone thinks they went to law school or something and can charge the same rates? What a joke. And this guy David became completely rude when I questioned his hourly rate. I would encourage anybody thinking of using this company in any capacity at all, to not do so. The exorbitant costs combined with the cavalier attitude of their staff is a recipe for disappointment for all. read more

We loved our experience with Sand Dollar pools. They were amazing and so easy to work with. We now have a beautiful pool that we can enjoy for years to come. Sand Dollar Pools staff are the most knowledgeable pool professionals in the whole San Antonio area. Prices are reasonable on pool products and services. Pool problems are addressed and fixed quickly the the minimum amount of chemicals required. Water samples are tested on a system in the store, and a precise list of required products, timing, and actions is provided. I would not trust anyone else in San Antonio with my pool inquiries. read more

This company is great. I had a problem with my pool pump and David tried to help me troubleshoot it over the phone and even stopped by to take a look. He referred me to the manufacturer because the pump was so old that they would be more knowledgeable. He even called me back the next week to check up on my problem. It really seems like they care.
