Sandbar is one of my favorite places to go, especially if I'm craving some amazing fish n' chips. Lately they've been having these chips that are potato chip shaped but a little thicker, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they're perfect. You also can't go wrong with the cheese curds or wings if you aren't feeling for fish. Staff is always super friendly and the restaurant part is separate from the bar, but you can also take the food to eat at a table in the bar area! My husband and I sometimes go for dinner and to play pool with some friends. It's a nice, casual place to have good food and some fun :) will keep coming back here in the future

Decent food. Almost everything is fried. Ingredient is very fresh. Local's favorite spot. I thought the batter is a little bit thick for my likings.

Best Halibut this Alaskan trip hands down. The fried Zucchini was spot on as well!! This is a "Local's" spot we were told about thru a friend of a friend. It is NOT A FANCY place and I have four stars instead of five because the waitress/bartender didn't seem happy with us outsiders LOL.

the fried fish is the best ive ever had - unmatched. Also the owner Gail is so friendly, kind and personable. recommended us the triangle club and took the time to talk and engage with our party. we had a wonderful time. let it be known that i rarely write reviews at all unless the experience was exceptional

Wonderful halibut! Hands down the best food on our entire trip. The bartender wasn't too bad either. Go Big Red :-)

The staff was very friendly and this is located in the same spot as the beloved Deckhand Dave's but there is no seating. My order came fairly fast which was great! I was handed a paper bag with the foot long inside of it. When I sat down to eat I immediately noticed the sandwich was cut in half then laid down on two separate pieces of paper and wrapped with the cut in the middle... this is a potential for disaster if you are not aware. I suggest they just wrap it in one large paper and send it. As for the food here is a few notes... Dill spear soggy and mild pickle taste with skin slightly crunchy. The bread is hoagie style, texture is slightly rubbery due to the moisture. I suggest lightly toasting the bread. The meat is cooked well done but is thinly sliced so it is tender but absent of any seasoning whatsoever. The caramelized onions needed a touch longer for that brown color and caramelized taste. These onions were mostly translucent. The cheese is thin so it melted well with the meat. The sandwich is on the lite side for grease which is great. Personally I think the sandwich needs a touch of salt like any beef because it brings out the flavors. It would also benefit from bell peppers as well as roasted red peppers. Would I recommend this establishment? I would say it is worth a try but I hope my review might assist you in making your own educated decision.
