Dinuguan (top, slightly sour pork stewed in blood), BBQ pork skewer (bottom), longanisa (middle, sweet/savory sausage)

Our Filipino cruise ship crew all seemed eager to visit in their off-time. So we had to give it a try. Really glad we did. Highlight was the dinuguan - one of the best I've had. Very tender, flavorful pork. Whole dish was gently sour, allowing the ginger flavor to still come through nicely. Longanisa and bbq pork skewers are the easy choice for Filipino food newbies. These were well executed here. The strong sweet/savory flavors are complemented/cut by the plainness of white rice for a tasty, filling experience. Together - this is Filipino comfort food at its meaty/carby best.

We followed our senses and smell to Carillo's Caldo or Carillo's Pinoy BBQ after a paddle excursion in Juneau, AK! Our senses immediately detoured us to Carillo's Caldo once we we dropped off by tour right outside of cruise port. We ordered two bbq sticks with rice and we devoured this so quickly. Homemade Filipino food , we miss good Asian food much. Nom nom nom.

If you're in Juneau and craving Filipino food or maybe you want to try some BBQ then this is the place to be! It was raining but that didn't stop us from coming here. There's no tables to eat your food but that's okay. There's space around the cart or you can walk over the roofed area. I ordered the chicken BBQ and it was so good! I wanted to buy a whole tray of it! It was a good amount of meat on a stick for me. I can't wait til next time when I visit Juneau because I'll definitely stop by here again :)

There are two stands next to each other. Choose the blue roof!!! Avoid the red roof at all cost!!! This business has a line for a reason. The service is amazing and the food is hot off the grill in front of you. The view is amazing and it is convenient for anyone in the downtown area. The meat is cooked perfectly and the sauce is caramelized on to the meat. Not a sweet sauce or a deep sauce. This compliments the meat perfectly. I have had everything on their menu and anytime I'm in the mood for something grilled I go here!

A delightful seasonal Filipino BBQ food stand along the waterfront in Juneau AK. There are multiple similar stands, but this one has long lines of Filipinos -- they are staff on cruise ships, and on their time ashore, this is their preferred food source. I got two pork skewers with sauces and peppers ... delicious and different. Unfortunately, I got food from them on the last day of the season -- they are expected back next spring when the cruise ship season starts again. Food is always delicious. I've never had something I didn't like I just wish they had longer hours !! The owners and cooks are always so kind ! The lumpia is some of the best I've ever had. The 1/2 order of teriyaki chicken is HUGE. The fried pork belly is absolutely delicious. So perfectly fried and still juicy. Definitely one of my top picks for a food truck in Juneau !

Chicken BBQ with what supposed to be lumping, rice and no sauce.

Is this an indication of faster service? Or is it because the food is worse? We ended up picking a pork skewer to compare. Pork Skewer ($8) - The first piece I ate seemed to be superior to the Carillo's version - still with the sticky sweet savory sauce, but a fattier and juicier piece of meat in the center. Subsequent pieces destroyed my initial impression. This business seems to be using very low quality cuts of meat, filled with fat and gristle, making the meat very difficult to chew and eat. In addition, some pieces of the meat taste old, as if they are close to rotting, kind of a nasty flavor that made me not want to finish the skewer. I guess the only real advantage as that the skewers they serve are larger than that of Carillo's? (2/5) Well, I certainly learned why the blue tent had a longer line... Maybe the chicken skewers and other food served at Bernadette's are better? I'm not sure, but I certainly won't be revisiting.

The menu offers most of your popular items. I spied sisig so I definitely had to get an order of that. I also got an order of lumpia and turon. The sisig was a smallish portion wrapped in foil but it was really delicious. This version tasted different than others I've had at restaurants and there was a definite spicy kick to it. The lumpia and turon were also quite good with a crispy outer shell and plentiful filling. Service was friendly and it took a few minutes for the lumpia and sisig to be ready for us and the turon was premade so we only needed to grab one from the stack on the cart. Since Bernadette's is a food cart, you could say the ambiance is the surrounding port area which is a scenic place to sit off to the side and eat your tasty meal.

The halibut tacos tasted fresh, but the beans and rice on the side were a bit underwhelming and could use some improvement. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The highlight, though, was the incredible view from the bar, with beautiful scenery overlooking the water and the mountains. Overall, a great experience, and I'd definitely come back.

We ordered 1 lb of king crab, the halibut fish tacos, and I paired my meal with an Alaskan Amber beer. Everything we came for was excellent. The king crab was fresh, sweet, and cooked perfectly. The halibut tacos were flavorful, with generous portions of fish, and the Alaskan Amber was the perfect local beer to go with the meal. The beans and rice that came with the tacos, however, were just okay. I didn't have high expectations for the sides, and they were pretty forgettable compared to the quality of the seafood. One thing that surprised us was how busy the restaurant was. It's a bit of a walk down the wharf, so I expected smaller crowds, but the place was packed. Despite arriving around 8:40 p.m., well past the peak dinner rush, we were seated without any issues. Even though they were still serving a full restaurant with other parties waiting, we never felt rushed, which we really appreciated. If you're in Juneau and craving fresh seafood, I'd definitely recommend making the walk. The king crab and halibut are absolutely worth it.

We ordered (2) Combo #1 ($104/ea), which included one Red King Crab leg, crab bisque, four crab cakes, and a roll with butter. Drinks are extra. Be prepared for a wait! The line was extremely long, stretching all the way toward the visitor center. It took us about 30 minutes to reach the counter and order. There was plenty of staff working, though, and everything moved along pretty smoothly. One fun touch: when you order, they ask for your name and where you're from. When your food is ready, they call out your name and city/state or country while looking for where you're seated. It was pretty cool hearing where everyone was visiting from. The inside has a fun fishing village atmosphere with plenty of seating, although most of the tables are shared. The staff was friendly and did a great job cleaning tables immediately after people finished, keeping things moving. Now for the food, it was amazing! Some of the best crab we've ever eaten. The King Crab was fantastic, the bisque was rich and flavorful with big chunks of crab throughout, and the crab cakes were delicious as well. Just know going in that it's expensive. Two Combo #1s, one soda, and tip came to $230.36. It's definitely a splurge, but when you're visiting Alaska and want some incredible King Crab, this is the place to do it. We would absolutely eat here again!

It gave you a taste of a couple of things, bisque, mini crab cakes and king crab leg. It was plenty of food and it was good. My wife had the pulled pork bowl and we did share snow crab queso. There is not table service and most likely you will be sharing a table with someone but the experience and food was awesome. Highly recommend this place in Juneau which is near the cruise ship dock.
