Okay, so, my coworker and I went here based on the 4.8 stars this place has. And, against our better judgement because the place only had about 40 reviews - which could easily have been a lot of friends and family dropping 5 stars upon opening - we gave it a shot. It was just okay. The good: Service was great. These folks greeted us and sat us quickly. Food came out hot and prompt, and we were checked on without being intrusive. Bathrooms were clean! The bad: The food just wasn't that great. The fries had good seasoning but I had quite a few that were more limp than crispy. The chicken shawarma wrap - my friend had the beef wrap - was somewhere around the quality of a really good soft taco from Del Taco - and I like Del Taco, so this is not as much of an insult as it might sound. I would just expect more from a chicken shawarma wrap - I was missing those bold but warm Mediterranean and middle-eastern slices that I would normally expect from a good shawarma. And no garlic sauce! I would definitely expect that classic garlic sauce on the wrap. I may be leaning too heavily on previous experiences with a good shawarma, but I just wasn't feeling this place. I would honestly give a 3.5-3.8 if Yelp would allow, but not in the cards. This spot was delicious! The restaurant was spacious and clean, and the owners were very friendly and welcomed us in warmly. I love a small menu as to not overwhelm me with choices. I ordered the beef shawarma wrap as a bowl, and got to pick "unlimited" toppings from the 'Sides' menu (as many toppings as they can fit in the bowl). I got baba ganoush, tabouli, and cucumber salad as my sides for my bowl. The bowl was huge and the side portions were generous! The baba ganoush was heavy on the tahini (predominant flavor for me), so I wasn't too big of a fan of this take, but the texture was still good. The amount of shaved beef on the bowl was plenty. A true hidden gem! Went here tonight with my fiance and we tried the app sampler with the hummus, tabbouleh, and baba ganoush. The baba ganoush had such a beautiful flavor! Then my entree was the chicken kofta which was seasoned perfectly. My fiance got the chicken shawarma and it was so good I will probably get it for myself next time. Their menu items don't have a full description, so you end up biting into some veggies you hate inside of your wrap, like tomatoes and raw onions. YUCK! My friend said her Chicken Shawarma wrap completely lacked flavor. Be careful when ordering water, because your server may give you cucumber water instead without checking with you. Again, YUCK! Sanabreh's prices for even their most basic dishes are very pricey! Other notes: Sanabreh has a separate room for private parties. Sanabreh has a hookah menu, for those of you who love smoking (NOT me). They also offer catering. Their decor isn't Greek inspired, it's more like antique. There are no sweets on their menu, either. This place is a bit new. The staff member we asked says they had been open around 11 months. It's in a business plaza near the intersection of Highway 3 and Bay Area Blvd. The food is VERY good. We had been missing smoked babaganoush since we lived in Denver. We found it, finally, at this place! The hummus is also very good. I think most people consider hummus to be a "meh' dish, but a good hummus is a thing to be enjoyed! We had the lentil soup, and it once again stood out from all others. A creamy body with excellent flavor, complex features I can't do justice to in a short review. It's worth more than they are charging! We had a wrap. It wasn't quite what my wife liked, but I sure did. The pita served is also a stand out. Too often pita in Mediterranean places around town is like a grocery store product. But so at Sanabreh! My wife and I and several friends have been here a couple of times now, and the all of the food we've had food has been great. The server on both occasions was unusually helpful, and offered quite honest responses to our questions. We've had appetizers including falafel and baba ganouche, plus a couple types of wraps and a platter, and everything was well made. When you walk into this place it can be a little confusing, as the entry area looks oriented to to-go orders, but there is extensive sit-down space, both inside and patio. They have hookah so maybe we will try it next time. Place is large and clean. We started with a Jordanian coffee which Id never had. Strong like Turkish with a hint of spice (maybe cardamom?). We split everything and began with tabouli, falafel and pickles. Then we had the mixed Sanabreh shawarma plate which is two meats, spicy rice and choice of two sides (we got hummus and fries). Having never had Jordanian cuisine I can only compare to traditional Mediterranean fare. The tabouli has no tomatoes or lemon juice - it is strictly parsley and bulgur wheat and maybe a quick squeeze of lemon. Fresh and tasty but just mild flavor compared to what Im used to. I love a tart lemon tabouli! Falafel was small and just the ground chickpea, no meat like some do. Again still tasty just different and the sauce it came with was great (tahini? Garlic?) The pickles were like the italian gradinerei. The schwarma platter was good. Interestingly I preferred the flavor of the chicken; normally I lean to beef but it was all good just different spices than Im used to on the beef. Meat is sliced super thin like julienned which I'm not a fan of, can make meat dry. The rice was great, almost like Spanish rice honestly. Fries were crinkle cut so nothing special, pita bread was the thinner type which was fine for this meal. The water is infused with fresh cucumber which was nice and refreshing.
