1 AM, Hot Burritos, and Exactly What You Need After a Long Night…read more If you're looking for a late-night, 24-hour takeout spot in Corvallis, look no further than Riva's. I pulled in around 1:00 AM and was greeted with exactly what you hope to find at that hour, hot Mexican food that absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the chicken taquitos and a carne asada burrito, and both delivered. The taquitos were crispy and packed with flavor, while the burrito was big, hearty, and loaded with perfectly seasoned carne asada. The kind of meal that fixes hunger fast and leaves you happy you stopped. Another big win here is the price point. The portions are generous and the pricing is very reasonable, which makes it even better when you're grabbing food late at night. There's indoor seating available, but this is also a great quick stop if you're grabbing food to go. Whether you're wrapping up a night out, coming back from a long day, or just need a solid late-night bite, Riva's Taco Shop is a clutch stop in Corvallis. Simple, fast, satisfying, and open when you need it most.

We were in the mood for burgers, but didn't want to eat inside anywhere. We decided to try Rif's…read moresince we hadn't been there since the name/ownership change. We both ordered Bacon Burgers with cheese. First, the woman who took our order burned the fries. To her credit, she appeared to be the only one working and was trying to deal with quite a lot. Additionally, she offered to replace with tatortots (with a bit of money back) or a second attempt at the fries. We didn't want to wait longer so accepted the tots. For the cost ($8.50 per burger with cheese), we expected at least decent quality food. The tots were nothing special and the burger was disappointing to say the least. The bun looked/felt/tasted like something you'd get out of a cheap package at the store. It also wasn't toasted or heated at all. There was one strip of bacon ripped in half, a very thin patty that didn't seem handmade as the menu states, and a few other toppings that didn't seem to fresh either. We'll check it out sometime for the actual bar portion, but as for food, we'll be staying away.

There were only 4 tables filled, so no clue what took so long, but there were no chips/salsa delivered & no drink orders taken during that wait either. Sadly, the food was just as bad as before. The taco shells were processed, like someone might have walked over to IGA & bought some off the shelf, not cooked in house & they were so soggy, the tacos fell apart just trying to pick them up. The shredded beef & chicken had no flavor & the shredded cheese tasted processed & did not melt like real cheese. It was just generally un-appetizing & we left disappointed. We'll spend $40+ for lunch somewhere else from now on.
