I have been going here for about 4 years. Every item has been repaired and sewn beautifully. Nothing crooked, no pucker, no loose threads - perfect! I also like that if I say I think this needs some help fitting- they'll look at it and suggest something! SO GREAT - every time! Not cheap and definetly the best! Nancy W read more

This mom-and-daughter team is truly a rare find. Not only do they offer extremely fair pricing, but they are both so kind, patient, and eager to help. You can genuinely tell they love what they do, and that goes a long way--especially when it comes to altering something as special as a wedding dress. They took the bodice of my mom's 1980s wedding dress and transformed it into everything I could have dreamed of and more. They listened to all of my ideas and executed them beyond my expectations. As a wheelchair user, I also felt completely accommodated and comfortable throughout the entire process. I truly hope they never retire, because they will absolutely be my lifelong seamstresses. read more

Super easy and fast! They did a fantastic job and it was reasonably priced. I will be giving them my business again!

I have used San Jose alterations several times over the past few years. I have used it because they are excellent. I'm They take great pride in their work and that shows in the results. Between my niece and I, we have had prom dresses with all of the sequins and beading, jackets taken in and several items shortened that have all turned out beautiful. Their prices are very fair. In my opinion I believe that it would be hard to find someone better than them. read more

Ms Chu and Mj are the BEST at what they do! If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have gotten into my dress! They didn't turn me away because I was a plus size bride either! They are the best, I needed alterations on a dress for a wedding I didn't think I would be able to attend so I didn't get it altered until the last minute. The dress also was extremely large probably 2 sizes too big, so a lot of work and they got it done the same day. It fit perfectly and I really appreciated that they did it on such short notice and did such a great job. The prices are also reasonable and I wouldn't go anywhere else for alteration. Thank you for your quality work and great customer service. read more

I cannot recommend these ladies enough. I brought two clothing items that I needed altered for the next day. I knew I was pushing it but I was really hoping they could help. Not only were they extremely kind and understanding but they got the alteration done on time when I needed it AND they pressed it. I am so thankful I found them! read more

I needed a suit altered for an upcoming wedding and I picked SJA because of excellent reviews and being close to my house in Mandarin right behind the Jeremiah's. It's a small place that is run by a woman and her daughter parentheses I think) and they are skilled and very helpful. For someone like me who is never gone to a tailor or had any sort of alterations done I felt pretty comfortable and I felt like they understood what I was going for really well without a bunch of explanation. I found the price to be more than fair and I will definitely be coming back for any similar needs in the future. read more

My husband took in some designer jeans with a faulty zipper. The gal at the front greeted us with a smile and a guarantee to fix the issue. $15 bucks later and voila! Fixed zipper. No more showing off his junk. Ha! I should mentioned...I called 7 other alteration places and not one answered. This was the only place that picked up their phone during business hours. Lucky for me! read more

Been using this lady for years. Does a great job and relatively fast. If you need alterations this is the best place in the area.

Not recommended for men's suits! Dropped off a jacket for sleeve shortening. $35 later I ended up with two crooked sleeves, crooked buttons, lost decorative button holes and lining that looks like a puffy shirt. No wonder the lady wanted to rush me out of the store without checking the finished product. View the before/after photos and judge for yourself. And the place smells like cat if you like that sort of scent around your new clothing. read more

I was pressed for time as another alteration place messed up my suit. I was referred to San Jose Alterations by a close friend who had some of his suits altered and tailored previously by them. Not knowing what to expect and I feeling really discouraged because of the mess the other alteration company did along with only having 2 days until the event. The nice Asian lady kept telling me no problem, don't worry, it's gonna be ok but I still had doubts but thought what else do I have to lose at this point. Listening to my friend who highly recommended this place was the absolute best choice I made. I was so impressed that I literally gave her a huge hug and tried to give her a $50 tip but she kept saying too much lol. I left it there anyways when she was helping somebody else and wasn't looking. This lady saved my day and she was extremely reasonable on her prices. The way she made this suit fit on me was tailored made PERFECT! I never ever write reviews must what she did was truly amazing and felt that I had to share this with other people. If u need anything done regarding clothes this IS the place to go!!! Wish I remembered her name but I believe it was Mrs. Kim or something like that. Thanks Mrs Kim aka San Jose Alterations!!!! You guys rock!!!! read more
