Do not recommend. Almost $500 for 14 pieces, simple repairs no nightgowns involved. At least half of the pieces are POORLY done. A couple of them I wouldn't wear them. $500!!!!!! Stay away!!!!! read more

I've been using them for years and always been happy with them. Lately their prices have skyrocketed! I brought in a dress for a simple hem and two small darts, and she quoted $53. I was shocked- it was more than the cost of the dress! I won't be back. read more

Rudas Alterations! RIP OFF!! We have used this place multiple times. Always a decent price. Dress shirt alterations, suit alterations, dresses and jeans. So you would say I have a pretty good idea as to what to expect. NOT TODAY! Totally ripped off over a T SHIRT! $27 for a t shirt hem. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I previously would have given Ruda a 5 star review, until recently. I took my wedding dress in to be altered (simple hem and adding straps made from the cut off excess... nothing difficult). Ruda had previously done a good job on some other clothes (below), and I saw a good review regarding a wedding dress. I had hoped since it wasn't explicitly a wedding alterations shop, she wouldn't jack the price up so much. But boy was I WRONG! She had my dress for 3 weeks before calling with a quote of $650! My dress didn't even cost that much in the first place. I know that once anything is WEDDING related, they jack up the price, but seriously?! It's not even a difficult dress - no lace or beading on the parts she'd be touching, not taking it in, no bustle, not many layers (it's a gentle mermaid fit). Just ridiculous! And when I went back to pick it up, I asked if she could leave the hem line pinned, even offered to give her $15 for the pennies those cost, and she said no and took them all out! I just thought that was incredibly unnecessary. I will be honest that the other work she'd done for me (2 pants hems, fixing the sleave and shredded lining in a coat) she did a good job and prices were reasonable. Still, I feel this situation was very poor customer service taking so long to price it and then to be so obsurdly priced... I will not return for even basic work. read more

I had my wedding dress altered at Ruda's Alterations. These women did a fabulous job on a fancy dress that was very hard to alter. I had to come in three times for the one dress due to the many steps that it took to alter this dress (lots of detail). It was expensive, but well worth it. Had I taken it somewhere else, they probably would have messed up my dress. I have a bridesmaid's dress that I need altered and I am taking it there. I know they can make it look just right. read more

Ruda's alterations has been my go to alteration place since I moved to Atlantic Beach a few years ago. Recently, she seriously saved me. My sister was getting married. Even though all bridesmaids were measured and tried on sample dresses prior to ordering, the dresses came in at least two sizes too small. Ruda took the dress out some, came back, and it was still too small. I had less than a week before the wedding, and she was able to find more room in the dress, so much so that it was roomy up top! I was able to wear it comfortably and eat and dance all night at the wedding without an issue. read more
