This incredibly nice couple are always very helpful and are fair with their pricing. I have brought all sorts of clothes (t-shirts, shorts, pants, you name it) and unusual requests to them over the last few years and they always do a great job. Even if there's ever any article that comes out wrong or didn't turn out exactly as i had imagined, they are more than willing to change it with a smile and declare it ready for pickup the next day! Recently, I had to get some slacks tailored for a special event early the following week and they expedited my request without issues, twice! I will continue to go to them for all my tailoring needs. Not happy with my first experience. Dropped off a suit jacket and two shirts for alterations and both were done poorly or not at all. The two shirts we barely fixed and was done very substandard. The suit jacket wasn't even altered and the gentleman (owner) swore he did. Look inside jacket and no changes was made. Spent $75 on these three alterations and basically nothing was done. I must give credit where credit is due. So, I'll give this cleaners a 0. Why? So ok, the alterations done were excellent but we noticed smudge spots from where it appears that someone either walked on the white dress shirt or dropped it a dirty surface. The stains were on both the front left and the front right of the shirt. Also, on the ceremonial robe, that only needed pressing there is a huge water stain that goes from back to front. Mind you, neither of these garments were ever worn. The shirt came of the package, the same day we took it to be altered. The robe also came out of the package. I paid $53 for the shirt and a pair of men's pants to be altered as well pressed along with the ceremonial robe and a ceremonial shirt that the pants match. The tailor offered us $3 as compensation, the price that it would cost to press the shirt. Nothing for the custom made robe, that only needed pressing. Than he made us wait while he took care of another customer. We really don't have time to wait, we have other errands because my daughter is getting married in 2 days. My advice is to go elsewhere. Oceanside Cleaners or Michael's Tuxedo and formal wear also do alterations. What really irks me, it that the tailor refused to take responsibility and basically put the blame on me for the stains that happened to these clothes in his store read more

I brought in two new sport bras with zippers that were not working. A very nice man was working and he found the issue then fixed it while I waited. I asked how much it was and he said it's no charge just come back if I need alterations. I will only go to Prime Alterations from now on. Worst customer service ever!!!!! I realized when I got home and checked my receipt they had over charged me. I went back the next day (with my 6 month old baby, which most will know is hard enough to do for any errand) and explained my return visit. The guy literally laughed in my face and said nothing else. I told him I didn't know what was so funny, I don't just take my baby out of the house for jokes. He continued to laugh. I never yelled for the sake of my baby and he's lucky she was there. I demanded my dresses back, a full refund and took my business elsewhere. I went to Lee's Alterations a few miles down and I'm so glad I did. Not only was the service amazing, they were cheaper and definitely more detailed and professional. read more

I am over the moon about this fantastic local business. I'm a recent transplant from the Washington DC area and was caught in between a rock and a hard place with a suit that needed to be altered immediately for a party that I am to attend this Friday. Mind you, I walk into Prime Alterations on Wednesday afternoon and make my desperate plea. I know the owner could have told me no, but he smiled and said he could have my suit ready the next day. To add extra icing to the cake the charge was extremely reasonable. With this experience I am more than happy and willing to use this service in the future and whole-heartedly recommend this business to anyone needing alterations services that prides themselves on quality, reasonable pricing and stellar customer service. I give 5 stars for many reason . Here are just a few . I have been coming here since the week they opened the store and from day one the owner has been extremely detailed oriented in his work . He takes a lot of pride and attention to detail . My mom was a seamstress for over 40 years and no one up until now has ever been able to satisfy my expectations on quality work. The price is right. I don't feel like I am ever over charged. If your used to paying less for alterations then maybe consider your experience in quality being compromised. Customer service, extremely white glove - first class . The owner is so warm and welcoming. He always listens to my concerns and needs. He will even tell me if I don't need something hemmed ( I am petite and sometimes think I need things to be shorter the average). I never wait more than 3 days for my alterations and there have been times that I needed something hemmed or fixed immediately and he has accompanied that need. I am so happy this area finally has a place that is everything that I am used to having from back home in New York . read more
