Espresso

The place is a really nice spot to hang out in the summer. It has a really nice terrace and the sun hits just right. The food was great, I was really hungry when I arrived and the pizza helped a lot. Their espresso was also decent and would also work if you were searching for a coffee spot. The service was quick even during rush hours so that's a plus.

Decent little café in Little Italy Montreal will give you a very refreshing morning. It is small with some nice outdoor patio seats. Morning breakfast pizza gives me surprises. Not a big portion but beautifully baked. Sunny side up egg, sun dried tomato pieces and herbs. Crunchy crust and not oily. Must try. Coffee and pastries are fantastic. The freshly ground espresso gives a great start in the morning. Friendly people work behind the counter. This is a hidden gem for coffee and pastries in the Little Italy area. Recommended. Not too convenient to find parking close by. Beware of city giving out parking ticket in no time while enjoying your breakfast.

This restaurant reminded me of the food I had when I was over in Italy. Everything we had here was fantastic. From the pastries to the expresso to the amazing pizza. Yum.

Wow, once I decade I find an economically accesible eatery that is just extraordinary in quality, flavor, and texture, and San Gennaro is one of them! Extremely delicious and fresh pizza and dohghnuts, this is dangerous for one's health! The pizza was the 2nd best pizza I've had in my life (and I've been to Italy!). I especially liked the potato and smoked cheese slice. Crispy, airy, buttery crust. As for the doughnuts (bomboloni), I ordered both the custard and the pistachio . Both were scrumptious, the fillings so smooth. I was a little hesitant to order the pistachio because the color looked odd and I was unsure what the base might be, but it was wonderful. The pistachio filling tasted like a mix between pistachio, white chocolate, and custard. The custard filling was smooth, creamy, and vanilla-y -- not to sweet. Dough inside was so light and fluffy, yummy air pockets. One more thing, the people who work there seemed lovely. They were friendly, patient, seemed to genuinely enjoy their job, and were proud of their food. Now I just need to figure out an exercise plan so I can eat two pizza slices and two doughnuts everyday....

Excellent cafe for our Montreal weekends. We thought we hit it big when we found a great coffee ( hard to find) and chocolate croissants. Then we decided to try their pizza slice and wow the crunch and sauce were Excellent. Can't wait to go back on our next visit to Montreal

Great little pastry shop in Little Italy off of S Laurent. They have legit espresso station with delicious pastries. What looked awesome was pan pizza. They had three options. All three look appetizing. I'm going to have to come back. Nice find.

Throw the cornicello charm from your vespa keychain in any direction in Montreal's little Italy and you'll probably hit a pretty decent pizzeria. With its delicious thick, crispy yet fluffy crust, sweet sauces and very generous portions that fill you up with classic Roman style pies fits right in. Donuts : These well-fried but not greasy, very light, perfectly filled bombolones are reminiscent of your Nonna's best dessert recipes. Any choice of filling is the right choice.

Hello was invited to San Gennaro In the heart of Montréal with street parking that was hard to find. Due to Covid 19 they only let 6 people in at a time. They had Covid protocols in place. The pizza looked amazing and the deserts looked good to eat through the glass. When I got to counter I I formed them I was from Yelp elite. The counter lady turned to her colleague and said great another one is here in a condescending tone and look. She then asked me what do you want and when I asked for some advice she said coffee and this OK. I was going to also order two small pizza to go and some extra desserts. However I got turned off and said give me what every you want. She gave me a latter and some sort of Nutella croissant. The coffee was coffee with a bit of cream. The Nutella croisant was good but I had a bad taste in my mouth

I went here as part of an invitation to review their products. I got a free coffee and pastry. I decided to purchase an additional pastry for more range. - Oat milk cappuccino : good coffee flavour, and had my favourite oat milk brand (Oatly). 5/5 - Nutella croissant : fresh, and tastes as one would expect. 4/5 - Pistachio croissant: fresh and more original, this one is memorable. Highly recommend! 5/5 - Service: very good 5/5 - Location / indoors : good 4/5 - Price : seems a bit high 3/5 - Covid measures: mask and social distancing were good, but I didn't see a device to clean customer's hands. 4/5 (I'm assuming I missed it and that it wasn't very visible... but if it's not there, then 3/5) Considering I enjoyed the coffee, pistachio croissant and service, I expect to be back. Will alter review after further trying of their products!

A must-go place in Montreal if you are a fan of pizza, coffee and pastries. Visit this little coffee shop in the Little Italy for some treats! Once you're inside, you are greeted with some friendly, familty vibes by the people who work there : it's super pleasant. The coffee was great. The pastries were good, but my bombolone didn't have as much cream as I had hoped. Wish there was more of that delicious vanilla cream and pistachio filling. Overall, a great visit and I highly recommend everyone to come here if you want a quick snack and some nice coffee.

I came here from out of town for the pistachio and hazelnut bomboloni. They did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly too.

Held on to that box for dear life and licked it for 10 mins. That's how good this bombolone was

What a hidden pleasure! We went for Yelp elite week and immediately as you enter the place is abuzz with great Latin sounding beats, and the smell of baked crust envelops you warmly. Can I just say, Yelp really knows how to pick great places to highlight!! I love that I'm getting to explore the city and sampling all these great local finds. San gennaro is hip and young yet its flavors are definitely down to earth and classic. We got a slice of the mashed potatoes pizza, a slice of their margherita, a pistachio bombolone, and a macchiato. Everything was fantastic! It's a thicker crust than I'm used to (or usually like), but somehow so comforting and classic. Their mashed potatoes pizza is so freaking good!! It was my fav thing there with some delicate Gouda, peppery, and warm and a slight crunch to the doughy crust. Just fantastic. The margherita was alright but again, so classic that the flavors just hit in all the right spots. Makes you satisfied and you don't even know why. Finally, the bombolone (which, is so fun to say). It was downright delicious!! It is a childhood nostalgic taste of full on dough in your face with a crap ton of sugar generously covering the whole shabang. We devoured it in 4 bites. But hey, don't take our word for it, look at the pic of the squirrel holding on to the bombolone box for dear life. He was licking that box ignoring all the humans close to him for at least 10 mins. What a fatty, he is my spirit animal The macchiato was a true macchiato much to my surprise, chuckle, then sadness. I thought I was ordering basically a caramel macchiato like at Starbucks, but clearly this was the real deal and I was handed a comically tiny lil cup with a tiny lid and I thought at first it was a joke. Then I realized my mistake and went ahhh I'm an uncultured swine lol, kk lemme taste this. BOOM! This is an alcohol shot straight to the heart. Great taste but if you don't drink coffee don't get this! Service is super fast, friendly, and the vibe is of a busy cafe that's somehow still so relaxed. Good covid restrictions in place (6 max in store), and be prepared to wait in line during peak hours (right after we stepped in, a huge line of 10 ppl started behind us). Prices were decent though a bit on the expensive side if you're thinking about size to value. We were nicely full tho sharing all that between two hungry adults. All in all anytime I'm back in the area, I'll be glad to have a place to look forward to stopping by!!

In Montreal on business for the third time, I had so much to do that I needed an evening meal where…read moreI could (a) sit alone; (b) have leftovers that would make a good breakfast at 6AM so I could skip stopping on the way to the office; (c) eat something tasty. No. 900 on the edge of old Montreal (I think it is on McGill St) was such a treat! I got to know, in a very little way mostly, and more extensively in one case, all of the staff that run the front of house. Delightful, all of them! Kind of a graduate student crowd, very efficient, friendly, smart, and pleasant to talk to. I don't drink so I didn't try beverages. I was in town for the week so got to try several pizzas. The one that says it is spicy, is SPICY. I was at my limit but the delicious outweighed the spice and I did end up eating it all (in two sittings, not one!). I especially liked the milder italian sausage pizza and so wanted to try more of them.

Wish they would have told us it was going to be last call before we tried to order one more drink. The server told us that the bar closed ten minutes ago, and was very apologetic. So we ordered another pizza to go. We also had our last meal there. It was a little busy and they were short-staffed so they did not come around much and it took a long time to get our food that time. But it was worth it. Pizza is very good. So we're the meatballs.

Montreal now has world class pizza! After many years of coming here and being forced to eat…read morepoutine, smoked meat, great steaks, and Canadian interpretations on various cuisines ... I now have a pizza option that rivals the best of NY, New Haven, and all the rest! Pizza Bouquet is labeled as a hybrid of other styles (NY and New Haven) and they are spot on ... more leaning to the NY version. This is exceptional pizza created by an energetic and passionate staff. I have only been there once, but in that short visit it was obvious that the pizza reflects the people that work there ... creative, fun, unique, and welcoming. They sell several great pies and actually offer both slices and whole pies. I ordered a pepperoni and hot pepper pie but as I sat there I had to get a slice of their upside down pie. While they were both outstanding, I have to say, what I cannot stop thinking about was that upside down slice. That was freaking magical. I would eat it there through because of the complexity and nuances of the actual pizza. Do not let this one sit ... trust me. Overall, this is a destination pizza in my book ,,, welcome to the world of pizza relevance Pizza Bouquet ... you guys do it right. Special shout out to the lovely ladies that danced through the entire preparation of my pie. Loved everything about this place!

New Montreal style pizza…read more Considering I've not heard of or tried "old Montreal style pizza"; just sayin'. The crust, similar to the NYC pie. Thin, gently crisp, some chew and char. Easily foldable. Follow it up with just the right amount of quality ingredients are brought together in just the right proportions with quirky flair. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good. All the ingredients from a potato mille feuille with a hit of fresh rosemary and grana padano atop the well made crust. Rich, creamy, nuff said. Equally good the mushroom with its "mushroom cream" (think a thin duxelles) base, rosemary to season and meaty creminis and motz to round it all out. Finally the sopressatta. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a cheese pie made even more complex with goat cheese, honey and grana padano? Sold by the slice or whole 18 inch pie. Inexpensive. Is it better than the NYC pie? No. But it's definitely not as boring either.
