Upland, CA Great customer service!!! I've missed this place. I wanted to grab a light, quick bite to eat while in the area and I remembered their pizza by the slice. The pizza is not heavy, it's actually fairly light and hit the spot. The #1 location has been a long time favorite but I have not visited in years since I don't make it to this area as often as I used to. The #2 location was a pleasure to visit. Good pizza! Inside has an old school, neighborhood pizza joint vibe. There's a few tables inside and a small front patio area. I got my order to go though. The pies are good. They have nice thin crust with a little crunch on bottom. I got the Works and a White pizza. Both are great. The Works is like a supreme pizza. The White pizza is a nice, lighter option. Good lord some of the most horrible pizza I've ever had , cheese pizza trash , peporoni roll trash and had a calzón absolutely dog crap . Cashier seemed upset I didn't leave a tip even though my order was to go ? When I spoke with the manager he said he made them personally and was unwilling to do anything. After a while he offered a discount but I explained our family has been going to San Biaggios for 30+ years and it's never been like this. One evening, my daughter and I were heading home, she mentioned she would like to try eggplant parmesan. I immediately started thinking of some Italian restaurants that may be good choices. A few weeks ago, I wasn't able to try San Biagio's NY Pizza #2 because they were closed early on Halloween Day. Though their specialty is pizza, they do serve other Italian food like pasta, chicken parmesan sandwich, eggplant parmesan sandwich, etc. Maybe we can ask them to make eggplant parmesan on pasta instead. We were on our way... When we arrived, there were about 6 to 7 tables occupied. A few tables were still open. They do have outside seating, too. It's a hip pizza joint. It has that NY pizza place ambiance. Love the red and checkered table cloth look! Another cozy and kind of romantic place to bring a date... family and friends are good to bring, too LOL. Super friendly and nice staff. Gentleman at the register provided some recommendations... first timers must try their NY style pizza. They sell the whole pie and by the slice. Please note the cheese pizza is on display. You tell them which toppings you want and they will add them for $0.50 per topping. Slice of cheese pizza starts at $3.50 and it can go up to however much if you get all their toppings LOL. We chose Canadian bacon and pineapple so that was $1.00 more per slice. OMG... pizza was outrageously yummy... thin crust with a wonderful crunch at the bottom of pizza slice, light layer of marinara sauce, cheese was perfectly cheesy and stringy, pineapple was surprisingly tasty and sweet, and Canadian bacon was in good size, but wished it had some crisp to it on the edge. I agree... it is a must try! They do make their pizza in pan form, too. We also got 2 of their pre-designed small meals. I got the baked ziti with small salad + garlic bread. My daughter chose the shelled pasta with ricotta cheese with small salad + garlic bread. Everything was fantastic tasting!!! So so good!!! After ordering, you're given a number, you pick a table, and they'll bring you your food when ready. It's that simple. Staff came by our table from time to time to check if everything is good. That's the NY style way and I love it! They are located in The Colonies so parking is not an issue. I will definitely be coming back for more NY style goodness in amazing foods and great service... dine-in and take-out. Happy San Biagio's #2! P.S. Why #2 you ask? It's their 2nd restaurant in the area. Their original restaurant is also in Upland on 7th Street. Funny, I'm a long time Uplander and I never knew they existed until now. Second San Biagio's location in northern Upland (first site is just north of the 10 fwy -also in Upland). Clean, bright, welcoming--an inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff who are helpful and considerate (one of them started closing shades when she noticed the Sun coming in strongly). We ordered a NY style thin crust pizza with half cheese, half pepperoni, as well as a calzone. The pizza has super flavorful sauce! My only critique is that I wish the 3 flat screen TVs had the volume turned off (they were playing football which really didn't need the narration to be appreciated by those who like watching sports--plus closed captioning works too). read more

Native NYer here and I have to say I try real hard to avoid any place that say "NY pizza" or "NY style". I know- I sound pretentious but it's ok you'll get over it. The pizza: definitely NY Style. But not the taste. Simply that it's thinner and foldable. This passes the NY style The dough was a bit weird though and didn't smell like a traditional pizza dough. I can't describe it but just didn't smell like dough. Next is this place is a NY Style but don't even have garlic KNOTS. They have garlic bread... that's it and even then it's heavy on the olive oil. They really should do garlic knots- traditional NY knots. But maybe Californians aren't accustomed to that. Who knows. Lastly. The sauce they use for the garlic "Bread" should really be used for the sauce on the pizza. Because it's delicious and taste really good with the basil hints in it. The actual pizza lacked a lot of flavor that a traditional NY pizza has. And yes before you come for my throat: I know I know it's NY STYLE not NY. I get that. Im just being picky at this point. 5- star purely because of the staff being friendly and cool. lol but I would rate the actual pizza 3-star. Overall I wouldn't seek out this pizza. I have been looking for a NY style pizza place that's in the area for awhile now! I'm so happy to have found San Biagio's!! We ordered the pick up during dinner time on a Saturday and we had our pizza 15 mins later. When we walked in, the place was definitely busy but you could tell that they had a system! I also saw that the food behind the glass counter for sale was fresh and ready to go! Both the sauce and cheese on the pizza are very tasty. The garlic cheese bread was decent, but dipped in the marinara it was good. Nice garlic flavor. The regular side salad was better than I expected because I paired it with Italian dressing. For very simple ingredients, it was so good. Their dressing really made the salad. The establishment itself was clean and orderly and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Solid 4.5 Stars! San Biagio's is the closest thing to N.Y style pizza, its authentic thin crust and by far the best in the Inland Empire. Unlike most restaurants in the area, they actually sell single slices. They offer a variety of pasta dishes and very good daily specials such as; Stromboli and Salad, Calzone and Salad and of course my favorite the #6, 2 Slices New York Style Pizza, Salad and a Med Drink all for just $13. Honestly, this combo gets me full and I usually take the other slice home! The only down side is, eating on paper plates. Long ago, at the original San Biagio (the one located on Mountain) they serve on plates. Its been a while since I've been to that location but I prefer plates. The short story: Authentic, scrumptious, mouthwatering NY style pizza in the IE!!! I've heard great things about San Biagio's from multiple sources so hubby and I stopped in today for a lunch date. In our last New York trip, we hit up so many pizza places, went to pizza heaven, came back to California and have honestly not found a pizza spot to match the NY style and taste. San Biagio's pleasantly surprised me with all of their delicious options we tried today. We're really looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu- a nearby customer was munching on a crazy sandwich and I know I'll have that next time, lol. Today, we tried the Stromboli and salad combo, the cheese pizza and the pepperoni pizza, as well as the black and white cookie for dessert. The pizza was soooooo yummy!! The small Stromboli was so tasty, filling, and I really appreciated the texture of the dough. I tried both the regular ranch and the creamy Italian, on separate sides of the salad container. The creamy Italian was insane! Finishing the lunch off with the cookie was the right choice, it brought me right back to NYC... CHEF'S KISS! Note: I loved their fall decorations! The restaurant was also clean, with plenty of space to sit down to eat and sports to watch on several TVs. My friend bought us a large pepperoni pizza here a couple days ago. I helped him out with a surgery and injury he had. So he did the I buy you fly. So I drove to this newer location. It is in a great area and looks like a really neat restaurant. The big guy at the cashier was really cool. I am glad they told us over the phone to come before 8:30 pm as that's when they closed that day. I made it in with 5 minutes to spare. I know they were happy about that! As I worked in a pizza restaurant for 5 years and pizza is my 2nd love, I really enjoyed there delicious pepperoni pizza! Just the right amount of pepperoni, cheese, and the crust not too thick. I went there when it 1st opened up and got a couple of slices they were so good! I'm from Jersey so I know good pizza. I got to no one of the owner's Claudio and each time I went he would know what I wanted and made the pie to perfection! I haven't been there in probably 2 / 3 years I went today. I ordered 2 cheese slices well done. I got my slices and went to my car to eat it and it was TERRIBLE! No flavor dry no sauce . Very disappointed. Claudio wasn't there or I would have gone back in and told him personally how bad it was. In my opinion there were too many workers behind the counter laughing, standing around, talking. Went in my lunch break, ordered a calzone and salad. I had my name tag on so they were able to put my name down, I ordered to go. They called my name, not very loud, so when I stood up there was another lady that approached the counter and took the order. I thought "oh I guess I misheard my name" she leaves then they call "Tracy" and I know I was the only one waiting so I waited to see if anyone else walked up... no one. I sat there for a couple more minutes and then the other lady returned (I had a hunch she would and she had MY order) so she takes her and then they call my name again and we're handing me the order the lady just brought back. Ummmm she was gone for about 5 minutes why would you not call my name and say you are remaking it. Why did I have to ask you to remake it. AND the salad. It's left your building you don't know if the lady messed with it. It just made me feel uncomfortable and I don't even want the $20 lunch I just paid for. Unacceptable if you ask me. read more
