As for the food, I've read some negative reviews on the food. We split a burger and fries. They were both very good! Maybe some of the other food items are meh, but ours was great. I would return for another show for sure!

City Winery is a great venue that showcases great talent with great staff, however, there are a few tips & tricks you must be prepared for to fully enjoy your experience. 1. Come early. Seating is somewhat first come, first serve. My most recent experience was at the sold out show for Teedra Moses. My tickets were purchased off a waitlist, therefore my original seat was at a high top located against the wall, with another couple. It was not comfortable at all. I politely asked our server for another seating option which she hesitantly obliged given our early arrival. I also purchased a bottle of wine, which our server was not aware of. Being early allowed us to place our order and hash this out without disruption to the show. 2. You will be sat with another party unless you come with a party of 4 or more. 3. I typically dine elsewhere prior to or after the show. The menu is not heavy, plus it is challenging to enjoy the show while eating. All in City Winery is spectacular for what it is. The main takeaway is to plan ahead.

I came in on a Wednesday night at 8pm, it was empty and we were seated right away. The entire store and bar is very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. There's 3 floors, the bottom floor which located another bar, the main floor which is street level and has the coffee bar and merch, and the top floor which included the Arriviamo Bar. Our server was very nice but didn't catch his name. We couldn't choose which drinks to get so we settled on the espresso martini flight which includes their espresso martini, double matcha espresso margarita, and ube espresso martini. * Espresso martini: tasted good, foam was perfect sweetness, can barely taste the alcohol * Double matcha margarita: good, matcha foam was good, you can definitely taste the tequila in this but they seem to use good tequila * Ube martini: nice sweet drink, but doesn't taste like ube at all (to be expected, but the ube cold foam on their regular coffee drinks has more of a hint of ube than this drink does) * Matcha butterfly pea swirl cake: has a nice dense texture, light taste of matcha, butterfly pea cream also has a thick creamy texture and a very light taste, perfect snack for a drink with a strong taste Overall good experience, would definitely be back to try the other drinks here and downstairs.

We were seated in about 5 minutes which was great and had the choice to sit wherever we wanted. We ended up getting the seasonal flight, a spring pea flower tart and a pistachio cookie. The food was good but it didn't stand out. A lil bit pricey as well for what you get. The flights are smaller sized than the normal drinks but that's what you'd expect. However the drinks were made well and tasted great. Loved the ube cloud drink the most. Overall a pleasant experience but nothing that wow'd me. I'd stop by to experience it at least once.

It was a fabulous setup with beautiful strung up lights lining the ceiling. While we waited to be seated we were given glasses of sparkling white wine. Our waiter told us that the space for the JBF LTD was donated by one of the JBF board members. Very cool. Eventually, we were seated at our communal table and were given a green garden gazpacho to start. It had pickled green strawberries which were surprisingly very good. Usually you throw the green strawberries out of the bunch and only eat the red ripe ones. David Kinch opened our eyes to eating this unripened fruit and I will never look at green strawberries the same! The soup was paired with vegetable beignets and a crispy vegetable chip - both were just perfect. Our next course was my girlfriend's favorite - an abalone salad nestled on a bed of romaine lettuce coupled with grilled cucumbers and an avocado-nori sauce. I loved the avocado-nori sauce with the tender abalone. The entree came next and was a succulent porcelet with the best crispy pork skins! It was served communal style which was kind of cool. There were two cuts of meat - belly and tenderloin. My favorite part was the skins. Dessert was a lovely popover with powdered sugar. Sweet, simple, and delicious. We had different wine pairings with each course and were semi-tipsy by then end of the meal. The best treat of the night was when David Kinch and John Paul Carmona came out and greeted the diners. They were both kind enough to sign my copy of the menu also. I'll be on the watch out for next years JBF pop up!
