I ended up ordering too much but no complaints here. We ordered two bento box lunches: Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki. Both were good and had a lot of food. Each bento had CA rolls (which were okay), an assortment of tempura, salad, rice and chicken (or salmon). I ordered a chicken bowl which was only $5 but very large. I used to eat here once a week. Had to work so I ordered my food to go. As I ate my Philly roll I noticed a black hair. I was grossed out to say the least, I put the piece and its black hair off to the side and grabbed another piece. To my discussed, another black Hair!! What the heck!! This was so disgusting, two black hairs in my food! There could've been more, but I was too disgusted that I threw the whole thing away!! I haven't been around this area in a long time and they have added new restaurants including Samurai Sushi and Grill. Just by the name alone, they were desperately trying to be authentic. As it tries to pander to its customers by trying to look like authentic Japanese cuisine. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The staff was friendly, as I asked what I always asked. What are you known for? The dish that the restaurant can hang there hat on. They suggested the Teriyaki platter. That comes with Beef, Chicken Teriyaki, 2 shrimp tempuras and 5 pieces of California Roll with a salad and steak rice. I also noticed that they have large bottles of teriyaki sauce for anyone to just grab. Well the teriyaki sauce was masking the very dry and cheep cut of beef. While the chicken was also dry. The sauce was needed to have any taste on the food. And Ranch Dressing? I'm no Japanese food expert but I don't think Samurai uses Ranch? It's not in the flavor wheel of Japanese food. The California roll, it looked like there was an earthquake for the roll wasn't very tight as it fell apart as soon as I tried to grab one. The shrimp tempura was okay, but it wasn't fresh. It was cooked a lot earlier and re-heated. The batter was warm but the shrimp was room temp. Overall the food was disappointing and the price was too much... the only thing I liked, was that I left. Found the location via Yelp and since it had the word Samurai, which I'm close to being. I went with the teriyaki beef bento box, which came with rice and teriyaki beef on top, green salad, California roll, and some tempura. The teriyaki beef was pretty good and the sauce was not too sweet. My only issue was that a couple of bites, there was some really hard gristle, I had to spit it out. The salad was refreshing and the dressing was a nice light one. The tempura is 1 shrimp, 1 onion ring, 2 potatoes (I think), and 1 broccoli. Broccoli is my least favorite tempura vegetable because it gets too mushy. Oh the tempura sauce was different, like there was a hint of ginger. The California roll was nice, had a lot of the imitation crab mixed with mayo. Perfect sized cuts, one mouthful. read more

One of the 3 rolls we ordered was off. The spider roll (with soft shell crab) was awful. Super fishy, not fresh, tasted like crap. I called to complain about the quality of the soft shell crab and was told to drive back over there and drop off the roll in order to get a free replacement or credit. The young girls that answer the phone are green and not well-versed in customer care. We ended up speaking to a "manager" who was the cook and he was apologetic and eventually stated he would refund us the one roll. I've been to this place several times and the 2 girls at the register are rather unprofessional. That's enough to turn me off on this place. The whole outfit seems super sketch and I'm not happy. I DID NOT realize the teriyaki platter came with rice and I feel like there could have been more meat and less rice. The "kid-friendly" part is spot on. I took my three kids and there was something for everyone--vegetarian rolls, soy paper, and good service. We ate in and had a great experience. The staff were friendly, and the sushi was amazing! Seriously, the rolls were beautiful and a great size, and we all left fat and happy. I made a pick up order and was excited to try it. This is my second time here and have not had a good experience. I ordered a Teriakyi chicken box and a Las Vegas Roll. The Las Vegas roll was fried, thier menu doesn't mention fried, and it was hard. The tempera, and shrimp tempera was rock hard. The veggies were black from being over fried, i tried eating them but couldn't. I called and mentioned it to them. They requested I take everything back to show them. I did not request for everything to be remade. I requested for the tempura to be remade. They basically requested I take my trash to them. I told them I threw it because I wasn't going to eat it. Samurai is my fav fast food Sushi restaurant. I was skeptical at first: fast food Sushi...But, I was feeding a crowd and decided to try it. Please note, I haven't ever dined in. I've always taken my orders to-go. The first time I went, I wondered in and blind ordered. I paid and left to run another errand in the plaza. I came back and my food was ready. I checked the bags and all was accurate. You know what stands out to me?? They have a tip jar BUT, I haven't ever experienced hard feeling nags if I don't tip...let's not get into the eat-in vs. take out argument...TYSM. Anyhow, once I became familiar with them, I began calling my orders in for take-out. The restaurant is always clean...most times, someone's cleaning it even at different times of the day and different days. I haven't had an issue with order accuracy. For the low prices you pay, I believe the Sushi is well worth it!! Customer service is impeccable. There's literally no reason not to stop and try it. My only complaint is the price of a soft drink...they have to make money somewhere though!! read more

Ordered #19 the shrimp tempura soup and all I got was a cup with noodles and broth. Had it to go so didn't realize it until I got home. The soup really had nothing else in it. It was missing the shrimp and other ingredients as shown in the picture. I go there about 45min later to complain. I get a sorry and here's your shrimp. Really? If I were the owner I would say "sir, I'm so sorry. Let me remake it for you and here's a free drink or appetizer for the inconvenience."
