They gave me a big portion of fresh wasabi which I appreciate since most places out here barely give you any even though you're paying for it. The menu was MASSIVE. The rolls are super big. Great portions. My husband only eats ramen at sushi spots and so far he hasn't found any he's liked out here. He LOVED this ramen. He said the chasu was perfectly cooked. Broth was delicious. Over the summer I went here twice with my daughter as they are in walking distance of my apt complex. I was not disappointed the service was exemplary, The food was flavorful and the portions OMG most places you go the rolls are small not here the rolls were bigger than other places. Nanami looks like a sushi spot, but it's really Mexican fusion in disguise. Most rolls are stuffed with cream cheese, jalapeños, and spicy sauces. The rice was dry, and the fish didn't taste fresh. If you're into sushi that are fusion, maybe this is your thing. But if you're looking for authentic Japanese sushi, this isn't it. I was disapointed with the sashimi. Try and let us all know. Visited here for the first time today, Aug. 30th. We ordered 2 bento boxes at $15.50 each. We had a beef and a chicken entree. It came with miso soup and it was loaded with tofu and nori, a pleasant surprise as other sushi restaurants give half the amount of portions in their miso soup. I might add that the service and presentation of the food, plate service and cleanliness were above par. Our server Jessica was pleasant, efficient and prompt. She was knowledgeable and if she didn't know the answers to our questions, she found out the answer. The bento box was nicely presented with more than adequate portions. One standout was the tempura .Our only concern was that the chicken and beef were overcooked, a bit dry and chewy. I did mention this to the owner and he thanked me for my feedback. This was our first (and final) trip to this Nanami sushi restaurant and was totally disappointing. Even on arrival, the staff seemed uninterested and unfriendly. We did have some simple questions about the menu as we were new customers, but instead of being helpful, the manager Danny was off-putting and rude--almost as though we were imposing on them by asking for clarification of what we were ordering. To cap it all, when we asked nicely about one of the dishes, we were addressed in a condescending manner and spoken to with attitude. Like they did not want new patrons or individuals who were not used to their menu. There is no justification whatever for talking back to patrons or making them feel unwanted. The food was only okay at best, but the terrible customer service really ruined the whole experience. There are several other sushi places that do actually care about their customers and will treat them nicely. Do not go here if you enjoy being treated poorly. This is my second time sitting inside, i ordered the creamy garlic ramen, strong taste after a few bites, not understanding why a tempura is in it but it was soggy, the broth was ok until i noticed the strong taste, it has more carrots then noodles i give it a 5.5/10 My daughter got the garlic shrimp roll 10/10 Service wise: they interact with each-other more then the guest, i would think a waiter would come and ask if i would like a refill, ask how were doing and etc but no! Our food arrived pretty fast and the food was delicious! The red dragon roll has a smoky and tangy flavor to it. The longostino is heavy and has a lot bang for your buck. The Alaskan tasted very refreshing, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the cream cheese in it (but that's just my personal preference). We also let our server know that we were celebrating a birthday and asked about mochi ice cream. Soooo, where to start. This place lowered other's expectations of me in recommending places to eat. When I first came here when it first opened the food was good. I don't know if ownership changed but this time the food was pretty bad. I mean, all we wanted was sushi and got day old sushi. The person I brought loves sushi and I think this place made her sick of sushi. She ordered a spicy crunchy California roll? As she took her first bite, she had a gross look on her face. I asked her what was wrong and she said that it tasted bad. She tried to take apart a piece of the roll to see if she could narrow down what tasted bad. She tested the too spicy tuna ontop and it was fine. We thought it might be the tempura shrimp in the middle. So I tasted it and the rice was wet and cold, the nori was slimy, and the imitation crab was not good. I told her that i think they don't make these fresh like the roll has been sitting in the fridge of a day or 2. She couldn't eat anymore, got a box, and left. We felt bad leaving the food there. But if you get too busy and can't make the rolls in a timely manner when the rush hits, find a way to manage it, don't pre-roll rolls and let it sit. So sorry.
