When asking about a specific comic, you don't get a "point" in the proper direction -- they walk over to the section and hunt down your comic with you and if they don't have it, they offer alternative solutions for you. On top of the great service, they also have great prices. Most of the time they're offering lower-than-cover-price deals, which makes buying here a real treat. To me, Greg's has a real incentive to make me want to drive the extra distance past some other closer comic shops.

I picked up some not so common books for a $1 so made my experience very good. Friendly Staff who interacted with customers as much as the customer wanted/needed. That simple gesture meant a lot and made his day even more special. The store itself was very clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of tables and seating areas where people could sit down, play games, trade, or open their new cards. Their selection is incredible. Whether you're looking for trading card game products, comic books, accessories, collectibles, or just about any other hobby-related item, they have an impressive variety to choose from. It's the kind of store where you can spend a long time browsing because there's always something new to discover. Another thing I appreciated was their pricing. I compared prices with another card shop nearby, and Amazing Discoveries was noticeably more competitive. From booster packs and sealed boxes to even many of the single cards, their prices were generally better, making it an easy choice for where I'd rather spend my money. There is no reason that a collector has to ask 4+ times to look through the card binders. I collect…read moreYuka Morii cards and asked if any were in the binders. I was told that one binder has damaged cards and the other binder has mostly modern, which somehow means that these cards likely wouldn't be in these. I hear this multiple times at trade shows where vendors directly tell me they do not have cards I'm looking for, and then I point multiple out directly in their case. After pressing a fourth time I'm handed the damaged binder and I find a Yuka Morii card I needed for my collection. I understand this is a combo tabletop and trading card store, but why have so many barriers between the collector and the cards that they are looking for in which 95% of them exist far behind the counters in storage? The only way to find out if they have your cards is by going through an extremely rudimentary search system in the back of the store on machines that feel like they are from the early 2000's where you have to spell the Pokemon's name absolutely perfectly with no way to search by artist. It's disappointing that customers ready to spend money have to interact with card shop workers who make it seem like a grand inconvenience to show cards. After visiting and experiencing 12+ other shops in the valley, my experience with this shop irked me more and more to the point of writing this review. If you go a couple doors down to The Trading Card Club or to Baxter's in Queen Creek, the barrier between the collector and their cards is a pane of glass. On top of that, you feel the passion from the workers. This is the ideal setup. Anything that is more than a pane of glass, such as a bad search system or a worker getting a card from storage for you, lowers the likelihood of that customer coming back and feeling like they'll discover something they are looking for.

Set-up for free comic pick-up was easy and smooth. They allowed (3) per person, and the line moved relatively quickly. Did some Bin diving while visiting, found some books I was looking for, and picked up some new issues w/variants. The best way I can pay homage to a business that was a memorable part of my childhood is to say this is one of the BEST comic book stores EVER. The store has had multiple locations around town back to the first location circa early 1990's. Atomic Comics still serves as a haven where kids of all ages can immerse themselves in fantasy and adventure and stimulate their imagination. The shop has all things comic and pop culture from figures and toys, books and graphic novels, cards and games, clothes and accessories, even a section for manga and anime. The vibe of this place is a clean, fun, safe space where kids can escape and decompress. I would even say it is a therapeutic experience and positive for mental health zoning out to comics. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and personable and willing to strike up a conversation with patrons. If you need another reason to gather here, the store hosts a variety of events and tournaments which you can explore on their website for schedules and info. If there was a nuclear fallout, Atomic Comics would be one place where I wouldn't feel bad about hunkering down. Deciding to come here is not splitting atoms. Todd, the owner, is super cool and all he is there for is to help you with all your comic book needs you might ever have. I asked him about a comic I've had for years and he knew everything about it and was able to answer my questions WHILE he looked it up and didn't have to WAIT to look it up. The other watch was my dad's watch that he gave to me shortly before he passed away. They listened to me tell them a little bit about the watch and my dad, and found the problem right away. It needed a new movement. They ordered the Swiss movement and had it working perfectly within the timeframe they quoted me. The pricing was very reasonable and the service was excellent. I couldn't be happier with the service and hospitality I received from this fascinating shop. They also have a lot of interesting items for sale. I recently went here after buying a used DJ Hero turntable set from Bookmans that didn't work. They…read morewere recommended to me by another game store that didn't have a turntable in stock. They said House of Used actually tests their products before taking them in for trade. I called them, and sure enough, they had a turntable set. I went down there and was able to locate the set. Not wanting to go through the same situation again as I did with Bookman's, I asked if I could test it in the store before buying. The gentleman helping me was friendly and willing to open the set so I could test it. The turntable worked, but had a decal glued to it by the previous owner. I asked if I could try a better looking turntable and he was nice enough to let me swap the nicer one into the bundle. Overall, I'm very impressed with House of Used. Their staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. If I could provide one criticism, it's the organization of the store. Even the game section was a bit tough to shop depending on what you are looking for. Otherwise, this is a great store for retro gaming.
