The other shops either had no idea what I was talking about or had some outrageous offers like doing a transmission maintenance without changing the filter. Additional work done included spark plug change and oil change. JA Autowerks is about 100 miles from me. But after speaking with the crew there I knew it was the right place for my 2016 Audi RS7. From the moment I called them for a quote until I picked up the car, communication was spot on. Even with a bunch of people out sick, John the owner called me and met me when I dropped the car off. A few days later I was promptly contacted about the price of some additional items and gave the okay for the work. I didn't get to meet Jason, the tech who worked on my car, but I can tell from the craftsmanship he knew what he was doing. I'm meticulous when it comes how I work on my car, and it looks like Jason is also. Since I was so far, Nick took time out of his DAY OFF to meet me to pick up the car. Will I drive 200 miles round trip again for work on my Audi RS7? You're damn right.

They do not pressure you to have work done that you don't need done. They will service what you need, as you need it. I always seek out family run establishments as I have found that they tend to value their customers…read moremore so than the corporate shops. There is an exception to every rule. First visit, front wiper arm needed to be replaced. She said they normally replace the wiper blade. As they were only 3 months old, I declined. She asked 2 more times to replace the wiper blade making me feel pressured. Red flag 1 Car went in for service. The report they provided said air filter status unknown. There are 4 screws that hold the cover in place. The manager told me they only check the air filter if they are quick release fasteners. Basically, if they aren't sure if they can charge you for the filter they won't take the time to unscrew the cover. Red Flag 2. Took car in for oil change and tire rotation. They told me the rear wiper wasn't working. Odd as it was working the day before in the rain. Since I have an extended service warranty, I had them check to see if it was covered. It was only if the motor was bad. They told me that they would have to trouble shoot it and I would be responsible for the cost. Unless it turned out to be the motor. I asked if they checked the fuse. Service writer didn't even look at me nor acknowledged my question. Why should they see if it's the fuse when they play dumb and get paid for trouble shooting. Checked the rear wiper when they brought the car out and it was working just fine. During this same visit I was told the rear links are going bad. Insurance would pay but because the insurance would only pay a certain amount for the links, I would owe more than $100. I asked about aftermarket parts. She said they were more than the dealership. I found them online for what the insurance would pay for. After the prior red flags, I wonder if the links are in need of replacement. 3rd and final Red Flag. I canceled the appointment to have them replaced. Had the trans fluid changed along with the brake fluid not too long ago. Now I'm wondering if they did it? It's sad that Pro-Cat feels they need to do business in this manor. How did they stayed in business 35 years??

Pleasant where I reside & afterwards, the car was towed approximately 1.5 miles to Ocean Bay Auto Body also in Pt. Pleasant. There are 4 cars in my household & unfortunately because my son's car is a 2011 model; we only have basic liability coverage. His only saving grace is the fact that the accident was caused by the other driver running a stop sign. We're hopeful that the other insurance will cover damages. What has irked me most regarding all this; is the fact that when I went to Ocean Bay Auto Body the very next day to retrieve the vehicle, the price quoted to me by Ted the owner was $1,180.00 !!!!! I find it mind boggling that the township I love so much would contract this shop to do its towing. I called a secondary tow service here in town to pick up the car & drop it off at my house which again, is roughly 1.5 miles away. Their charge was $140 complete & when I showed the driver of this secondary service the fee charged by Ocean Bay; the guy looked me in the eye & stated that this was criminal in nature. I took the time to read through the reviews for Ocean Bay here on Yelp & to be honest I don't believe not one of them. I believe they're all mostly fabrications. Honestly, I hope that Karma catches up with Ted for his highly unethical business practices. My next correspondence will be to township council president & Mayor regarding this matter.
