A warning light came on my sons 2020 Ford Escape. I made an appointment and dropped the car off in the late morning. My service writer Joe was extremely helpful. The car had to stay for diagnostic and repair. Joe arranged a ride home for me. Joe contacted me in the afternoon and told me the vehicle would not be ready till the next day. On the following day Lori called and said the vehicle was ready. She said that she could have the car dropped off at my home About an hour later the car was dropped off. Because I had the extended warranty there was no charge. Over the twenty years I have lived in this area I probably purchased a dozen or so vehicles from Tom's Ford and would go anywhere else for my automotive need. Thank you to everyone at Tom's Ford. I scheduled service for a recall issue a week ago via the FordPass app. When I arrived for the appointment on 11/13, I was informed that the appointment had been automatically cancelled by their "system" because of lack of a VIN number (keep in mind, the FordPass app KNOWS the VIN number). It seems the system does not flag these issues for service managers so the missing information can be included but rather just summarily cancels the appointment. At no point was I informed there was an issue or that the appointment had been cancelled. I drove over an hour, leaving a location where I could have performed some work for a friend and now I didn't have range to get back so that equated to a lost day. I was also informed that they could not reschedule me until 12/9 (almost a month later) as they only have ONE EV technician. I likely will not be back. read more

Had an interesting experience today with Tom's Ford in Keyport today. I took my Transit van in because the engine light was on for none of the obvious reasons. I was previously traveling in NC, where I stopped into a local Ford dealership for the same engine light problem. They plugged the van into the computer and showed that I had a voltage issue for some reason. They reset everything and the engine light went off. Btw...they refused to charge me anything which was quite gracious. The next day, the engine light came on again so I decided to bring it to Tom's Ford , which is very close to me . To their credit, they found that the problem was that a rodent chewed a small wire in the engine compartment. My issue is with the almost $850 to replace a couple of inches of wire, which included a large diagnostic fee. Maybe it's me. In the future ,I'll be going to my local garage in Matawan read more

I went in to see a vehicle twice at Tom's Ford. No negotiation at all the price is what it is just special offers nothing beyond that. 1st time, sakesperson tried to sell me a car way over priced and low trade in offer. It was suggested that maybe the vehicle was a bit much for me. 1.5 year later, 2nd time went there for website price. Sales relations said there could be more wiggle room on that price. So, I finally got to dealer to look at vehicle and I was quoted a price $5000 over the advertised price on the website. The vehicle is a 2016 leftover in 2 months and had 32 miles on it. I complained but no one seemed to care. Maybe for some who do not haggle and just pay whatever the dealer wants it is your place. Unfortunately, not so great experiences for me. Well I can't give a second review but I gotta update this to give Tom's Ford another 5/5 for service this time. To save you on all the details; a minor mistake that was made during service possibly led to a costly repair. They found the mistake when I brought it back in, owned up to it, apologized for the inconvenience and paid for the repairs no charge - and even did some other regular maintenance while they were in there at no charge (except for parts of course). I worked with Craig in service and he was a great guy. Very polite, professional and put me at ease about the whole situation. Going to have to come in for service more often. read more

Earlier this year I dropped off my car for a tune-up estimate. When I called later that afternoon, I was quoted over $600 for a tune-up...a regular tune-up!! I authorized the work because I needed my car ready to be picked up after work. When I got there my bill was reduced by approximately $200... someone was getting gouged! Today I called for an estimate to replace the power steering line from the reservoir to the power steering pump...$1800.00. I had the repair done elsewhere for less than $300. I'm prepared to pay more for repairs done at the dealership because I prefer to have factory trained service technicians work on my car. However, it seems the service department charges whatever they can get. This is a predatory practice. read more

With a very low credit score, Rodney found me a great car at a price I was comfortable with, Scott the finance manager got me an irresistible deal that made the sale even better. Each person in this dealership remembered me by my first name and has always gone miles out of their way to put a smile on my face, which isn't an easy task. After dealing with Dana Ford for 6 weeks and car not fixed, I searched Google and numerous reviews. Tom's Ford came out on top on everything. They were also recommended by local shops on Staten Island for their great service dept. So i called for appointment and even though I've never been here or ever been a customer, I was treated like a valued customer. They diagnosed problem and in half the time of other dealer, my car was fixed and done right the first time. Believe all the great reviews you read. It's not fake, but very real...they are great. We pulled in to Tom's with a disgusting emergency - my daughter had thrown up all over the back seat of our Ford Flex! It was the first place we saw after it had happened and I figured, hey, we have a Ford, at least they'll let us use the bathroom and some paper towels. They could not have been more wonderful to us - they cleaned out our car AND the cooler she had hit! They gave us t-shirts and coffee cups and little toy cars. We were on our way in 40 minutes, they could not have been any nicer or more helpful. My husband and I are so grateful to Elle, Lee, and Dan for being so gracious and friendly. Great dealership. I shopped for a car for my dad who lost his in hurricane sandy. I was in California and he was in NY. I tried getting a car price online and on the phone from 5 nearby dealerships. An exercise in futility to get a simple price, I got the standard, come in and talk and we will give you a great price BS. I am in California I kept repeating. Geez. I almost gave up on ford if this was the way this was going to go. And some just quoted me MSRP minus factory incentives and refused to give me a damn price or acknowledge that MSRP minus factory incentives was just MSRP. Than I called Matthew. Although the conversation was still too long, in the end he did give me a price and did make me feel like my dad was going to be treated well without me there or having to negotiate. I agreed, sent him and dad was out in 90 minutes with a new escape. Price was right, paperwork tight, no hidden fees. In the age of the Internet what else would you want? I knew what I wanted and when. Was looking for a simple transaction. I buy a new car every 2 years or so and If I buy a ford again (that's now to be seen based on product quality we experience) tom's ford will be my first call. read more

I went into Tom's Ford only because they had a used Lexus I was interested in buying. My salesman was Kenn Gann. He was very helpful in allowing me to test drive the car and letting my mechanically inclined friend take a few pieces off the car to check for any sort of damage. I then asked him if I could take the used car to my mechanic in Edison (a 15 min drive) and he talked the management into allowing me and my friend to just take the car to the mechanic on our own. That part was great! Unfortunately once I got back, the dealership started playing their games with me. They made me wait for an hour before I could meet with Kenn again. I went back and forth with him on the price for the car and we came to what I thought was a little high but still reasonable considering this used car had damage to the front bumper and needed 4 new tires. This was when it got bad. The sales manager, a heavyset black man with a shaved head (...Al?), came out and immediately started being pushy and rude. He insisted the car's tires were fine and that my mechanic was trying to fool me into buying new tires. I pointed out that the tires were down to the wear marks and had dry rot, but he insisted that they were fine. He then countered my offer buy taking $500 off their internet listed price (which was a couple of thousand over the KBB value) and saying, "I'll save you $500". When I tried explaining to him that the car was damaged and needed work right away he began talking over me and pushing me to buy the car again. At that point I stood up and left; he made NO attempt to stop me from walking out. I was happy with the way Kenn worked with me and got me the opportunity to take the used car to my own mechanic; thats why I gave this place 2 stars. I was extremely insulted by the rude and pushy treatment the sales manager gave me. I would never purchase a car from this place again simply because of the way the sales manager treated me. I have since bought the same model elsewhere but in much better condition for a few thousand dollars less then Tom's Ford wanted, and it came with a CPO warranty. read more

Took my car to Toms for the works package brakes and rotors. The package includes a tire rotation which was not performed (I chalked the tire because I suspected this). Management was helpful and made that issue right by me. The brakes a totally different story. I got the car back and brakes were vibrating. I called and told them about the issue and that I was taking my family on a long road trip. Instead of letting me bring in the car before my trip, they just told me the brakes will be fine once they are broken in. The issue did not stop. When I reached my destination I called a different Ford dealer. They immediately verified the problem and replaced the rotors Toms machined a week earlier. I contacted Toms Management and sent them documentation of the issue, I never even received an apology. I do not expect drama when getting a simple oil change and brake service, but that is what you will get at Tom's. If you want good service drive 15 minutes south to George Wall. read more

Let's face it, having your car serviced is never exactly fun, but I admire Tom's Ford for making my time spent there enjoyable. The waiting area is comfortable with a cool espresso/coffee/cappuccino machine. The service has been excellent. I've never had to wait very long, and the one time that my car had to stay, Tom's had a driver shuttle me to my house, for free. They also offer several ways to save some cash, beginning with the free first oil change for my new Fusion. Tom's Ford always has coupons for service specials, make sure you check for them in your mail or search online because between those and the rebates they often offer, you can save good money. read more

I had a great experience with mat. I purchased a Ford 250 transit high roof. I shopped around he was the only honest, straight shooter. He worked hard for me and delivered the van to Brooklyn. There where special programs that I qualified for and he did his research and gave me those rebates. Mat is a down to earth... I would definitely deal with him again. BTW . .. Made an appointment and went out of my way to come buy the Ford Mustang GT500 and they were utterly rude , unprofessional and unprepared. The unprofessional sales lady was convinced from one look at us that we "couldn't afford the expensive specialty vehicles " inside the tiny showroom. She ushered us immediately outside to the "affordable " cars. We repeated we weren't concerned about price but more about features as this was a leisure car as a gift for myself. She showed me to car and had ME remove all the plastic inside on the chairs , shifter etc... and then had us wait outside 15min in the cold while she got the keys. We finally got inside and she asked US to check the gas which turned out to be completely on empty. She left for another 15min and then said we needed to get out so she could drive the car to get gas. We begrudgingly obliged and when we went inside the showroom and asked why we couldn't test drive the car we came to buy the manager echoed what the sales woman had said " it's only for serious buyers" and I said " so I can't test drive it because you don't think I'm a serious buyer?" He said yes. I took my wife and left the empty dealership and took my business elsewhere. How do these places stay in business? read more

As a New Yorker, I rarely cross the bridge for a service. But this place's reviews were so exceptional, I had to. Especially since my local Brooklyn-based Ford dealership was to be avoided at all costs. Tom's Ford was completely worth it. They handled the recall repair in the time period promised. They did not "find" additional items (the classic brakes, suspension, etc. etc. scam) that "had" to be fixed. The service staff was as solicitous as if I were checking into a high-end hotel. And the waiting room was spacious and clean, with WiFi and a cappuccino machine. Also hot chocolate! And a kids play space if you happen to take your kids with you to the garage! If you're not native to NJ, route your way there by GPS, as there's a lot of road-swapping to get there. But once you get there, you'll find yourself in a much better mood than you expected. read more

I love the Ford 150 Lariat, unfortunately I had to deal with an ASS hat service manger whom has zero customer service skills. I wouldn't go to that service department to have air put in my tires. What a joke. He must be related because the management up front could give two craps about the issue. Shame really, I truly think this the best pick up on in the market but now I'm look at alternatives simply because the nearest other Ford dealer is too far way. REally insulted by their lackadaisical attitude. After reviewing the lease deal i got, seems i got screwed on that too. Not impressed at all. And to say, well maybe their upfront dealing is not for anyone? Really $5,000 over what was advertised? Furthermore, if a dealer wants a customer to believe the dealer only makes $500 on a vehicle thats $50,000 in MSRP? This is totally not true, I know people in the business and who have been in the business. If they only made what they claim they would not be able to stay in business even the manufacturer.
