My daughter is very sensitive person and easily gets nervous for taking any kind of test. She changed 5 Instructors until we were recommended to Sam. I do not know how to express my happiness to Sam. He is the most intelligent, brave, patient, friendly fun Instructor. I asked Sam if I could be present during the first lesson of my daughter He did not mind at all. I was nervous for my daughter but the moment we sat in the car she just felt comfortable, I don't understand what he does but he makes everyone feel comfortable and confident. He is very patient through out the lesson. He really takes his time to explain everything needed to know to pass the test. Sam was always in communication with me regarding my daughters progress. He helped us with the appointment at DMV and also took my daughter for her actual test which included 1-hour practice prior to the test. I very last minute decided to get some professional driving lessons to supplement her driving ten days before my daughter's driving exam. I called the 3 top-rated schools in the area ---one of which was Sam's Private Driving Lessons. All of the schools were really booked up and could not give me times until a month later (too late for to help her for her driving exam). Sam's Private Driving Lessons were amazing and managed to fit us in for 3 lessons within the timeframe (based on last minute cancellations, etc...). One other school came through with a lesson and although instructor good she was very casual. In contrast, Sam is a great instructor and very very picky about driving habits-- honestly my daughter found it annoying the first time as he kept touching the wheel, but later learned to really appreciate his instruction ---- and makes sure students are well prepared not only for the exam but for a life of safe driving. After living in NYC and not driving for 10+ years I was very anxious to be behind the wheel, and actually failed the test once. My confidence was shook! When I got up the nerve to try again, I knew I needed an expert to help. I found Sam through yelp and scheduled 2 classes, and also asked Sam to take me to the test. It was an extremely positive experience and I passed the second time with a pretty good score. Not only is Sam a skilled, experienced and serious teacher, but he is very supportive and (I think) very calming to drive with. He focuses on helping you pass the test, but also on general safety. He is very punctual and easy to schedule with - and made sure to be available for my test. I recommend him highly and am a little sad I won't get to see him anymore! Sam is one of the best driving instructors out there. As soon as I sat in the car with him, he began explaining everything to me about driving safely. When I didn't understand something he explained it to me in a detailed response. My first time driving with him, I was very nervous because it was my first time sitting behind the wheel, but as soon as I met Sam, I felt very confident. He is the nicest and not going to lie, the best driving instructor out there. I didn't drive good at first, but he taught me so well. I passed my drivers test my first try. Sam did a great job teaching my 21 year old son all he needed to know to be a safe and conscientious driver. After 4 lessons with Sam, he was able to pass his DMV drivers test the first time. It was easy to schedule appointments and Sam was always on time and ready to teach. He has a lot of experience and wisdom to impart about the details of driving defensively and safely. He points out what a driver is doing wrong AND right and really helps create confidence in a new driver. We didn't have a vehicle for my son to use on his test date but Sam picked him up, drove with him until he felt ready and allowed him to use his vehicle for the test, which was great because it was the vehicle my son had been training in with Sam. Sam is amazing! so wonderful with the nervous young drivers. you cannot go wrong here. my daughter took 2 lessons from him. she LOVED him! we went to the DMV today for may daughters "behind the wheel' test, and sam was ahead of us with one of his pupils, assisting in getting her tested. He was very knowledgeable, patient, fun and detail oriented instructor. Not that he only teaches to pass the DMV test but all the details: he taught how to park, freeway, change lines, parallel parking, everything you need to know how to become a safe driver.
