I don't know what type of operation they run here but they are not very professional. I talked to some guy on the phone and he was willing to help and all but was trying to get me to book my appointment at the Glendale DMV even though I was willing to pay the difference for the Hollywood one. For some reason he gave me a phone number to send my driving permit to, because he was insisting he could get me an appointment for the Glendale one. It's been a few days and no update, no plan for the behind the wheel test no NOTHING! I texted him to see what was gonna happen and it seems he has ghosted me or something. Be careful with these people and book with Royals driving school better, don't waste your time. They reply quick and won't have you anxious for your test. read more

So many great reviews so I think it all hinges on who the driving instructor is. When we used Golden Eagle for my son a couple of years ago the instructor didn't actually seem to be an instructor. I'm seriously thinking she was just someone's relative or friend that was available at the session times. She didn't give ANY instruction, direction, or advice other than where to turn next. Not ever, not even once. My son thought it was strange and so did I which is why I'm concluding perhaps she was just helping out because it sounds like their regular instructors are usually excellent. She was nice, silent, and not helpful at all. Needless to say, my son did not pass his test the first time. I needed to give him lessons myself after the fail with the "instructor" and then he passed the second time. read more

Total waste of money. If your instructor is Michelle, you might as well take a $100 bill and light it on fire. It will be as useful. She took our 15 1/2 year old daughter driving for 2 hours and gave her absolutely no direction or instruction other than where to drive. It was her first time driving a car and she TOOK HER ON THE FREEWAY at 80mph! What the hell? That was ridiculous. It was a waste of $100 and 2 hours of our lives. I had only good experiences working with this driving school! I booked the 6-hour sessions nearly two weeks ago as I already knew how to drive (used to drive in Indonesia, and in Asia in general, the way people drive is so different) so I needed to practice and get use to the car that I was going to use for the driving test (I knew that I was going to rent their car for the test). The 6-hour practice went smoothly. Michelle was my instructor and she was a good one. She made me feel relax and that made me confident. As for the driving test, I recommend to also make the appointment through this driving school especially if you don't want to wait for too long (2-3 months? Yikes!). Gary picked me up on the day of the test. We practiced a little bit in the Glendale DMV area then I did my test, and I passed! Made two mistakes only (yes I'm proud of it :)). I was panicking because I did not have a car to drive (was scheduled with another driving school but they did not pick up or return my calls until late). My instructors Gary and Michelle were very knowledgeable, polite and flexible in terms of hours and my location (Hollywood Hills). I had fun learning and driving. They listened to what my needs were and tried to lead me to a perfect result. I had 12 hours of driving lessons. I also chose to rent their car to take the DMV test and it was the best idea ever. We had one-hour driving before the test which made me convenient and ready to go (very stressful as always though) plus my examinator knew Gary and said he is a great guy. I just had to agree! I cannot say how much I love this Driving School. I have been to a couple of driving schools in the past and they never really gave me the confidence to drive, and told me that I was not a good driver so I ended up letting my permit expire. At 28 I realized though I really need to get my Driver's license and felt ready to learn how to drive again. My Driving Instructor was Michelle and she really helped me build my confidence as a driver, which I honestly did not have as I always had a fear of driving, Michelle was very patient and professional when teaching me, and we continued practicing until I became more comfortable driving. After a few weeks of practicing driving with Michelle I am proud to say that I did pass my Behind the Wheel test this morning and got my license on my first try. Michelle helped me improve as a driver and helped me I will be very thankful and grateful for that. It was also never difficult to get an appointment with them, which I have had issues in the past with driving schools who become overbooked. What I also liked about them was that they were open 7 days of the week so it was not hard to coordinate appointment times with them. They also help prep you for your test and will tell you what you need to do to help you pass your Driving Test, which made me a lot calmer during the Behind the Wheels test. I am so grateful for my super friendly and knowledgeable instructors Gary and Michelle from Golden Eagle Driving School! Although I am 27 years old, I was a beginner driver with very little experience behind the wheel. After 16 hours of driving lessons with both of them I was able to conquer my nerves and pass my driver's test on my first attempt! Scheduling with Golden Eagle was super easy and flexible. Gary and Michelle provide a pick up service which was greatly helpful to me. I would highly recommend Golden Eagle Driving School to anyone who wants to learn how to drive and pass their DMV test. My instructor is Michelle, and she was incredibly calm, patient and knowledgeable, and always alert to point out any mistakes I made so I will not repeat those in the tests. Thanks to her I was able become comfortable and confident driving around the city, and passed the test on my first try after 14 hours of practice!! The classes are super flexible and easy to arrange, they pick you up and drop you off at home. The lessons are also tailored to your needs, I was a first time adult driver so Michelle made sure I got comfortable with driving before doing the full DMV routes with me. I rented their car to take the DMV test and I highly recommend that. Gary came to pick me up an hour before the test and led me through the routes again to get myself ready for the test. Simple and to the point. After a couple of minutes of talking to him and driving, he immediately found my weaknesses and he zeroed in on them with repeated actions. Very good. Although I already had some experience learning to drive before this school, he helped me sharpen my skills, and I passed. There are some minor cons though. there was no receipt given which can bother people who want documentation and communication was a bit flimsy. He didn't reply to my emails on time. This is the best bang for your buck! I signed up with a friend and received a discount for our separate 6-hour driving classes. They are the best deal in Glendale for driving school, you simply will not find a cheaper school. They were 3 different classes, 2 hours each, and my instructor came and picked me up from my home each time. Both the car and teacher were very presentable and I felt very comfortable. Unlike learning to drive from parents, my instructor was very calm and made sure I understood all of his instructions.
