I wish I could give them a 10/5. We did our mandatory six hours with them and it was absolutely amazing, great instructors who clearly care about them learning, taking great notes and rooting for them. They come right to your door, on time, friendly instructors - every single one of them. I honestly don't know how they find people with such great attitudes. My daughter gets a little apprehensive about new situations so everyone made her really comfortable. They said she did great. So! Because of that, we bought three more classes (extra six hours of experience). The first new lesson, she got over her fear of the freeway and did really well. She was so scared when it's her parents but with an instructor, she got over that. The second new lesson? This was the issue and absolutely kudos to Drivers Ed Direct. So, she gets panic attacks sometimes. It used to be really bad where she would miss school and it was almost daily and she hated it but she couldn't get through them, it was a rough year at the time. But, we got them mostly under control but for whatever reason... she had one about 15 minutes before her instructor showed up. I couldn't get her out of it (it's awful to see, as a parent), she was trying but she couldn't breath, short of breath. I greeted the instructor and said I have to deal with 'something' first and he was so patient, when he didn't need to be, as we were on the clock. She was in no shape to drive, it was bad... so I told him that, unfortunately, we had to cancel but we'd just eat the costs, no probably at all. He was totally amazing, my God... I was so stressed and he was like, "Totally no worries, I live close, it's okay." Nicest guy, per usual with them. The day after, I just emailed them to just apologize for that and I didn't even bring-up the cost or anything because, yeah, I should be on the hook for that, it's not their problem. But, guess what. They said it's okay and didn't even charge anything! They are going to reschedule it! I had to come on here immediately and pass that along because they absolutely didn't have to do that -- at all. But that's who they are - they care. read more

My daughter had an incredible experience with Drivers Ed Direct thanks to two amazing instructors, Harry and Instructor Jay. Harry was her main instructor throughout her driving lessons, and he was so patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. He really helped her build confidence behind the wheel. On their second lesson, he even took her on the freeway, and made her feel more comfortable with higher-speed driving. He always took the time to explain things clearly, and after their last lesson, he generously shared thoughtful compliments with our family about how she was doing, along with helpful feedback on areas she could still improve. That personal touch meant a lot and showed how much he cared. On the day of her driving test in Thousand Oaks, she had a final prep session with Instructor Jay, and he was absolutely phenomenal. Jay took her on the actual DMV practice route three times before the test, reviewed everything thoroughly, and was so kind and calming throughout the entire hour. He even stayed with us until the test was over, which really helped ease her nerves. Thanks to both Harry and Instructor Jay, she passed her driving test with only 1 mistake. If you are looking for lessons for your teen, soon to be driver, LOOK NO FURTHER! I am a guy who does my research and ALWAYS checks the yelp reviews to see what other people are saying. Drivers Ed Direct had great reviews and after reading a bunch of them, I decided to call. They were very informative and helpful right over the phone. I had a bunch of questions and after I hung up, I felt like I had them all answered and explained! So naturally, I signed up my daughter. Scheduling was super easy and accommodating. Once we set up our first appointment, a man by the name of Jay, came to the house and made us feel at ease from the very first moment. Letting your teenage kid, not to mention a daughter, go out behind the wheel with a stranger was VERY scary. But Jay made us feel comfortable immediately and helped me feel confident about letting her go. After the 2 hour lesson, my daughter came home and raved about Jay and his nice, funny ways. When it was time for another lesson, she asked for Jay and he was back! (so were his jokes) That made her feel comfortable and she was happy not having to see if she liked a new instructor. My daughter is about to get her license and we can't thank Driver's Ed Direct (and of course Jay) enough! Scheduling was very easy (calling directly got you more options than on the website), the instructors were very nice and patient, and they tried to accommodate a specific instructor request. Barrett was my daughter's favorite - he did her last lesson and refresher and was super helpful with tips and strategies. It is a little pricey but worth it in the end.
