They did a pretty good job My son was already a good driver when he did his six hour mandatory free driving test Class hours with him He is busy, but he did evaluate my son as being a good driver, and we are satisfied read more

I called Shawn after my 76 year old mother failed her driving test twice. she reluctantly agreed to take a few classes. Shawn was patient with her and encouraging. She had some bad habits, like we all do, but he repeatedly told her she had all of the skill and ability- she just needed to believe in herself. She gets frustrated easily and is intimidated by the "mean" DMV testers (NGL - I'm scared of them, too). She had one more chance to take the test and she passed! Super grateful to Shawn for his help and patience and expertise. I don't think she would have succeeded without him. Worth every penny. Highly recommend! read more

If you're looking for a driving instructor who truly cares about your success, Edgar Harutyunyan is the one. He is patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Edgar explains everything clearly and makes you feel comfortable behind the wheel from the very first lesson. He stays calm, supportive, and focuses on building confidence while teaching safe driving habits. Thanks to his guidance, I felt well prepared and confident for my driving test. I highly recommend Edgar to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled driving instructor. read more

Called around the valley for a good price for driving school for my 17 year old son and this was the cheapest I found. Good communication with the owner named Shawn. My son passed his driving test!. We would definitely recommend going here. read more

My husband has a driver license from Mexico and needed to pass the DMV driving test. He just took a 2 hour refresher course with Ruby, and she was great! She arrived right on time and was able to show him all the pointers he needed. He took the test today and PASSED!!! We want to thank Ruby very much. It was also great that she speaks Spanish, so that was very helpful for him. We would highly recommend Ruby to anyone needed driving lessons. read more

Amazing!! I was nervous but I ending up passing on my first try with only 3 mistakes! Everything I learned was useful for the test. I felt prepared for the test. Could not have passed without him. My experience was great he really worked with my schedule. No other schools were accommodating in regards to passing before my permit expired but he was. He taught me how to be a safe driver and defensive driving techniques. Would definitely recommend. read more

If you are looking for a good driving school, this is not good for your kid. You want your kid to be safe and learn properly. 1. Shawn is the owner and only instructor of this horrible 'school.' He is unorganized with his schedule and communication. Initially we set up a weekly time for my son. After the first lesson, he forgot that we set it up for a regular time, he forgot that we paid for 6 sessions, not 3. He literally said "Im too busy, I don't remember, I'm talking to 100 people a day." If he is that busy to provide his service, he shouldn't take on so many clients. 2. He takes too many students. Due to many students, he is in a rush and does not give the full 2 hour lesson that you pay for. For 3 straight lessons, he never once gave the full 2 hours. He scheduled us at 3 pm but just showed up at 2:15 pm (?) and dropped my son at 3:55 pm. That's 1.5 hours or less of 'instruction,' which included taking my son to Costco gas station, telling him to "hurry up, drive faster", with Shawn driving back to drop my son in a hurry. We paid for the lesson. How can the instructor drive to drop the student, so Shawn can rush to the next student. 3. Shawn turned on the music very loud and takes personal calls. He did not pay attention to his student. It is unsafe and bad instruction. Shawn had good review in the past but he is a bad instructor right now. Last year, he could not teach any students in covid pandemic. I understand that he lost money and he wants to make money, but now he has overbooked himself and is not providing a decent service. I don't think he should be greedy and not care about his reputation and safety. read more

This is one of the worse experiences I had with this school. My kid took the training from the same driving school and attended the test from the same school, after multiple attempts she was able to hardly make it. The training is not up to mark and the feedback on the testing is inadequate and unjustifiable. They have lot of issues with the training course. 1. Driving Schedules are not open. They open the driving schedules on Monday night and there are only limited slots and they booked within 5 minutes. 2. The Driving Test instructions are pretty poor and they don't teach everything they will be testing on the road. 3. Class room makeup times are not flexible. If the kid misses a class it is very difficult to make up for that class. 4. Everything costs - Every time you take test and any additional help you need from them costs money. 5. Unfriendly Staff- I raised my concerns with them during the test and they are supposed to reach me to sort out but no one reached me till date. I had to spend ton of time to drive with my kid to bring her up to speed. In one way I won't recommend this school. I would recommend explore different alternatives before considering this school. read more

Shawn is a great driving instructor! He is very knowledgeable, experienced and patient, all important qualities when teaching a student driver. I am from overseas and he taught me the rules to keep in mind when driving, and also made sure I worked on the areas I was weak in. I passed my driving test first time, thanks to Shawn! His prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend Green light driving school and Shawn for your driving practice! Thank you Shawn for everything! read more

As a 21-year old with little to no behind-the-wheel driving experience, Shawn was the perfect instructor for me. His patient and kind demeanor calms even the most nervous of first-time driving students. In particular, I suffer from extreme anxiety and have prolonged obtaining my license because of my fear of driving. Within the first few minutes of my first lesson, those fears quickly dissipated. Since then, I have began to build up the confidence to become a safe and alert driver on the Los Angeles roads. I highly recommend Shawn's Green Light Driving School for pupils of all ages! His prices are incomparable and his experience speaks volumes. Prior to starting his driving school, he served as a DMV driving evaluator and knows exactly what will be assessed. Overall, I highly recommend Shawn's Green Light Driving School! There is no doubt in my mind that after taking his classes, I will be able to pass on my first attempt. read more

Among the most stressful things a person can do is get behind the wheel the first time. While parents and friends may offer driving lessons, the skill they possess doesn't always translate to teaching others. When combined with the anxiety that occurs thinking that the person behind the wheel is a beginner, everyone is so nervous it's hard to learn (I know I was) Fortunately Shawn's demeanor helped put me at ease so I could learn to drive and pass my test. While it may not work for everyone, I found his balance of giving clear and direct lessons with a friendly demeanor to correctly learn driving. He answered all my questions in a way I could understand. His easy smile (and with a little humor) got me through everything from parallel parking to driving LA freeways. Anyone who can help you not freakout on the 101 is cool with me. You may choose other driving schools...but you won't find a better one. Whether it be a teenager, adult or immigrant new to driving in the US, Sean is a great teacher with reasonable rates. read more

I really enjoyed my experience with Green Light Driving School. Shawn was extremely helpful and pointed out several aspects of the driving test I hadn't thought about before. Having had a foreign license for six years, I already had some driving experience prior to our classes, but I did learn a lot about driving in California and what are the specific mistakes testers look at when evaluating your driving skills. The classes also gave me peace of mind and put me at ease while taking the test. I was able to pass on my first try. read more

Shawn was pretty good at teaching and letting me know what to know on the driver's test. He walked me through everything and I passed the test first try. I forgot I had a test that day and he woke me up by calling me until I woke up. If he didn't care so much I'd have missed my test. He does come off as blunt because he is loud but he is not mean and was patient with me. I was nervous but without him I wouldn't have passed. read more

Wow, phenomenal! I was apprehensive about getting behind the wheel after 15 years of living abroad. Shawn gave me the skills and confidence to drive again. After just the first lesson, I felt at ease and comfortable, especially with Shawn's guidance and expertise. It only took about 4 lessons for me to feel like a proper LA driver. I'm so thankful for Shawn, I don't know if I would have been as ready with another instructor. He's also a very kind man, and loves what he does. Thank you again!! read more

I highly recommend the Green Light Driving School to learn and practice driving. Mr. Shawn who has been my instructor has exceptional preparation skills, is very friendly and approachable with strong work ethic. Even though I attempted learning how to drive at a late age due to an accident I had in the past, Mr. Shawn's teaching strategy helped me overcome any issues and get my driving license pretty fast. I certainly enjoyed the lessons and appreciate his patience and persistence in pursuit of helping me become a good and responsible driver. read more

Great Prices and the instructor was awesome, called him in a very short notice I was desperate he assured me that he would take the time with my son he did we passed very happy read more

Absolutely the most horrific experience of my life. I had to get out of the car. The guy, Sean/Shawn... was crazy and rude. He picked me up with another student in the car and I told him that I wasn't comfortable with two men I didn't know in the car. I already waited for him 15 minutes outside in the 90+ degree sun. RE: the other student-- he said that that was how they did it here that I had to drive that student home. I had booked a lesson specifically to do freeway driving as I am a licensed and experienced driver from out of state and hadn't had to drive many freeways before, so I said but my lesson is for freeways and he said that this just how it's done and I had to take local roads to drive this other adult man home. Then after this drive is ready taking 15 minutes, he is barely looking at my driving, he isn't giving me directions, having me make lane changes and turns at the last minute. He asked, if I wanted to corrections on my driving and I said no not while there was another student in the car and no because I drive just fine on roads that aren't 5 line highways. He tells me I turn horribly- which isn't how you give feedback anyway even if it were true (I am a Master's level certified teacher so trust me I know how teaching works). I told him I was uncomfortable with this and I was already a fine driver when I had directions to where I was headed. Then he said OK I won't charge you I'll just drive you home after we drop him off. So he is basically starting a fight with me with another person in the car and me behind the wheel which is dangerous. He's like telling me that this is just how it is and I said that's OK and I pulled over and got out and told him I was done and took a cab home. Now I am scared to drive here because of this experience and scared to even look for a new school. This guy is a con artist and is doing illegal things. I am reporting the the better business b. and reporting to cops. Also as per yelp- this will get posted to the bottom of the reviews as not recommended but this experience isn't THAT different from what others in the not recommended section have posted so I hope you read all the reviews. read more

I recommend this driving school 100%. Shawn is very kind and patient. He studies your ability to drive and bases what to do from there. He also teaches you things that no other instructor would teach you. I had a great experience with him and passed my driving test with him. He is very skilled as well as has many other experiences with other students. Thank you Shawn! read more

My name is Laura. I am from Spain and when I arrived to Los Angeles, I realized that here you need to drive to do anything. My big problem: I was afraid to drive. I had never driven a car in my life!!!! but Shawn with his patience, not only he did I lose part of my fear of driving, but I also approved my driver's license to the first =). His classes are very interesting and you also can learn a lot of things with him. He is very nice and a very good teacher =). I recommend him to everyone who has never driven. Mi nombre es Laura. Green Light Driving School - after passing my driving test - Driving Schools Near Me - Northridge, California

I was nervous at first but my instructor was great at giving me constructive criticism that will help me fully understand the road. He was very in depth with the information that he was providing me and gave me a thorough view of how the testing would take place. I passed the first try and although I passed I'm still going to take lessons to be more informed about the freeway. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more

I passed my very first time. Sean was so helpful, even took extra time to make sure I was ready for specific tricks to remember during you actual behind the wheel test. I definitely recommend going with this school. read more

Shawn is a great teacher, he explains everything that'll be on the actual driving test. I definitely recommend if you're going to take the behind the wheel test. He does have experience as a Driving proctor for the test so he knows what he's talking about. At first, I was nervous to start behind the wheel but with his instruction I felt more and more confident about my own skills. I would make mistakes but he's quick on the wheel and will give a reasonable explanation to correct that. He's casual about the route you take but its the routes that you'll most likely will take often (drive-thrus,bank, etc.)I took my road test and passed on the first try but will definitely look into improving where I fell short. read more

I just passed my driver's test 10 minutes ago and almost did a backflip in front of everyone in the DMV. Sean is a great teacher; sarcastic and sassy AF, might get on your nerves BUT if take him, you are guaranteed to pass the test. read more

I would not recommend this school. It is operated by one person who is the instructor. Because of this, my child said he was constantly on the phone during the lessons. He talked extremely loud to the students and had talk radio stations on during lessons. I don' t have a problem with that. It's just that there are so many distractions going on, how are they supposed to be properly instructed?? The instructor is pleasant enough on the phone, but not so much to the students. In spite of this, we made the mistake of signing up for another lesson. During this one, the instructor had my child do some driving that was not part of the lesson we signed up for and it took almost an hour out of the lesson time. While my child was driving, for the first time in this situation mind you, he grabbed the wheel and pulled the car into another lane right in front of another vehicle that he obviously didn't see. For all of these reasons and more that I won't go into, I would not recommend this school to anyone...ever. read more
