Just passed my class in the Reseda location! It was a good fun informational course. Bob and Elliot are super knowledgeable and chill. They want you to pass and keep learning to be a safe rider. Two long days, but well worth it. If you're like me test are stressful, so let me give a few details about the test. There's a 50 choice multiplier choice that you need to pass definitely study, but it's common sense and things you've learned in the class to not too hard at all. As for the riding test that's not too hard either it's 4 drills that you would have practiced multiple times before the actual test just don't be too nervous and panic. Just passed my exam! This school is very very beginner friendly. As a person whos never rode a motorcycle i wanted to take the course. It helps a lot and teaches you many skills your going to need and practice when you start riding. Bob and Eliot are great they are specific and always answer your questions. The place is very spacious. If its summer and hot be prepared with water. They brought some for us but you never know. I like how they jave their own helmets and gloves. I highly recommend you get your own boots and even though they have gloves. Get your own! Riding with the used old ones hurt after 5 hours of riding. Just passed the beginner class and it was such an amazing experience, I couldn't wait to leave these people a glowing review! We were lucky enough to have Jody on the first day (at the Corona location) and Bob on the second (in Reseda), and we couldn't have asked for more knowledgeable, supportive, patient, or enthusiastic instructors. I took the CMSP course as a complete beginner. I was a little worried going in. But they took me from someone who has never been on a motorcycle, to someone who felt really comfortable being on two wheels. I did a refresher CHP motorcycle training program this week. It was very informative, well-taught, and masterfully coordinated. My instructors were Bob and Eliott. The motorcycles were decent and varied. Some sporty, some traditional. Looking back at the Ride Rite curriculum, the fact that the DMV's sole criteria for awarding the M1 is based on the ability to drive in a circle twice and swerve through a few cones, is absolutely criminal. There is sooooooo much more to know in order to keep yourself and other motorists safe. If you are going to ride a motorcycle, TAKE THIS CLASS. Took my MTC course this last weekend, and it was a great experience. Red ran our Zoom meeting, and Bob and Elliot were our instructors for the range days. I'd like to start by first saying I wear hearing aids and both Bob and Elliot were more than understanding and accommodating with that. When my hearing aids stopped working halfway through the first range day because of the sweat build up in my helmet, they adapted their teaching style and made sure I was able to hear and understand what was happening. I had never operated a motorcycle before and was a little nervous, but extremely excited. But over the course of the 3 days, all 3 instructors gave me enough confidence to begin this new journey. All were very friendly, firm and fair. They genuinely love spreading their knowledge of motorcycling and safety to new and veteran riders. You can hear it in their tone of voice. I'd like to point out that you MUST go in with an open mind and receptive to constructive criticism. For a teacher to be good, you must first be a good student. Some bad reviews make it seem like the instructors are not friendly, but when you are on the motorcycle and driving around in a circle, they have to speak loudly and succinctly to get their point across in the 2 or 3 seconds you are whizzing by them and most importantly, any bad habit can quickly turn into a fatal situation. Just wanted to give a shout out to Ride Rite and Red and Elliott!! I haven't been on a bike in years but lately I've been itching to get back into riding. Scheduling the class was super easy, but they book up pretty far out, so don't wait! Had Red as our classroom instructor on day 1 and he was awesome at breaking the ice and making a pretty serious topic (motorcycle safety) feel not too daunting. Elliott was the same on day 2, being careful to answer any questions thoroughly. When it came time to ride, I felt so safe on the course. Helmets and gloves were provided and they had a FEW backup boots/pants in case people weren't in proper riding gear. Red & Elliott did their best to match us up with the style bike we intended to ride outside class. We went over a ton of information and practiced a ton of basic skills and I cannot say enough good things about this course. Riding is so much more technical than I ever took into account, from the shape of the wheels vs. a car's, the amount you lean into a turn, speed, our responsibility as rider's in our own safety... I'm so glad I took this course! I downloaded the DMV handbook prior to taking the test and I'd say we covered about 99% of what was in the book in class. I felt super prepared to take my written test at the DMV and passed on the first try!! The course I took with Ride Rite was fast-paced on the knowledge, with a focus on motorcycling technique and nuances. Going into it, I thought I knew plenty about riding already, but after the course was over I realized just how much there is to practice and to be constantly aware of. It's important to be sharp and focused going into the range. There were points, especially at the very beginning of the range courses, where an exercise was explained from their handbook and I missed a detail or two, and consequently I wasn't entirely clear about how to proceed, but you'll learn just from watching other classmates and getting feedback. They put you right out there and this really becomes an exercise of self-confidence. When shifting, cornering, etc, you'll have to trust your body and instincts and get into a flow. The 2nd day on the range you'll be in a rhythm. Again, it's fast-paced with how much you do. You really have to be aware of what you and other students are doing correctly and incorrectly. The act of shifting and cornering is a much more physical and mental experience than I expected. Try to be well rested if you're in the morning class! There were a few students in my group who decided to leave the class halfway through, I think because instructors pulled them over during the exercises multiple times and their pride was hurt. I had some experience with scooters prior to this class but realized I hardly know anything about motorcycling... you have to go into this with an open mind. I was humbled by instructors too many times to count, but it's all fun if you have the humility and confidence in yourself to learn. Red and Elliot made this as fun and entertaining as could be, you'll be lucky to have them as instructors! Side note: i had a situation and had to miss my first class... Ride Rite was super forgiving about it and allowed me to reschedule. But you have to reschedule all four classes, they have to be done in order. read more

Getting my full license this week after I take the DMV written test. Great positive experience inside and outside the classroom. Instructions were clear and encouraging. The students I had in my class were funny and positive people. I fortunately got to take this course during the colder times of the year. If you are planning to take a class when the heat picks up, I recommend bringing readily available cold water and snacks to eat during the breaks. Recommendations: If you are brand new to riding, do some self studying on motorcycles and on how they work before the course, try to practice in an empty lot with a friend if you have the chance, and have a positive mindset. PSA- Just a heads up to anyone that reads this! *very important* The DMV now makes you take the Class C written test when you go in to take the written test for your M1, if you HAVEN'T taken the Class C written within ONE YEAR of your valid drivers license. Complete bullshit. Went in to the DMV today thinking I'd only be taking the M1 test, then the clerk throws me a total curve ball and tells me I now also have to take the Class C test, which I failed because I haven't taken that test or studied for it in 16 years. I believe it was 30 questions and you can only get 5 wrong. No where on the DMV website does it say this... and few places on the web mention it as well. So expect two written tests!!! And definitely study. read more
