Two years ago, I took my behind the wheel test and failed for all three times(two times due to critical errors and one time due to driving too slow).This year, I practiced for two months during the summer. And today I finally passed!! Surprisingly, I failed on Tuesday and was lucky enough to get another appointment (some people canceled their appointments so a time became available for me). I got a critical error on Tuesday (driving too slow for lane change to the left) and today I passed with only one error! Huge thanks to Ali from Union Driving School. Ali is very strict and his attitude (when you make a mistake) might intimidate you at first. However, he cares about you and wants you to succeed in the driving test. His teaching method is very professional and he is so knowledgeable in driving. I also want to appreciate him for taking the effort in writing down some tips in his notebook to help me improve during the lesson. Special thanks to Fibi, who called me after I passed to congratulate me! Although Union's service might be a little bit more expensive than other companies, it is by far the best driving school that I have ever had. I failed on Tuesday using Vista Driving School's car and the lady's teaching method and attitude made my experience very unpleasant before the test. I needed to find someone with a car to accompany me to the DMV for my driving test. I got a last minute COVID reschedule from the Winnetka DMV and it just so happened that the car I was planning on using wasn't going to be available. I found Union Driving Schools online and I decided to give it a shot. Bought a 2 hour lesson for the day before, and a 1 hour lesson the day of the test to review. My instructor Fibi was a tremendous help! She took me on all possible test routes around Winnetka to make sure that I was prepared for anything. She gave me helpful tips that I would've never thought of myself, but also in a calm and respectful way (I once had a driving instructor that would yell at me and me feel uncomfortable-- this was not the case here!) so I'm glad I decided to take this lesson! The day of the test, I felt pretty confident with everything I learned. Fibi accompanied me and knew exactly what she was doing, so I felt pretty calm, And just to top it all off, when we got to the DMV, everyone welcomed my instructor and I with open arms! I hired a different driving school for my son and his friend. I took my son out a couple days before his test and he was making a lot of driving errors. After taking 8 lessons each, they weren't confident they could pass the test. I called around to lot of schools and Union Driving Schools was the only one that responded on a short notice. I was so happy they did. The driver took the boys out for an hour each the day before their test and corrected the errors they were making. Miss Fibie is a great instructor, I had a 10 hours class with her. She prepared me for the DMV driving exam and told me all the points that I needed to consider while driving. We practiced the DMV test routes multiple times that I got pretty familiar to them therefore my exam went more smoothly and I had less stress while taking the exam. Fibi was great! Super sweet and experienced instructor! I recently moved to the valley and was looking for a good driving school. I didn't pass the last time I did the test on the west side. Fibi was great and was very transparent with the charges right at the start and also made some very helpful suggestions on where to take the test. I took a 2hour session with her and on the day of the test, I took another hour with her. At the dmv, she was so familiar with the process, it took the stress off me. She took care of everything despite how hectic that day at the dmv was! She does make some calls during class but that didn't bother me. And I passed, with only 3 points taken off versus way more than that before I drove with her :) I would totally recommend her. She is so experienced that she knows all the tips and tricks for the test. Also, the charge was a tad cheaper than other schools, so why not! read more

Fibi is the best! I had a serious health scare a while back that prevented me from driving and it's made me into the most anxious driver - but Fibi is so patient, kind, and understanding. No one has been able to help me overcome my anxiety except Fibi! Now, I feel so relaxed when I'm driving and I've come to enjoy it. She's help me come a long way in such a short amount of time. She doesn't yell and she has a good heart. She goes out of her way to help EVERYONE and I've never heard her say a bad thing about anyone. She is soft spoken and protective. Driving with her is like driving with my mom, but in the best way possible. She is very nurturing and helps you correct your mistakes through repetition and by teaching you how to improve, not by telling you that you've done wrong. If want to be a passable driver find someone else, if you want to be a GOOD driver - learn with Fibi. She is also always punctual, helpful, and thorough. She will confirm appointments in advance and try to make accommodations if necessary. If you are a decent human being and are respectful of her time, she is respectful of yours. With Fibi, it's never a no - it's "let me see what I can do," and I appreciate that she actually cares about her students. She teaches you to be good, not just because she cares about your safety but the safety of others. When I first started driving with Fibi, I told her that I don't want to just drive, because I have to, but because I want to go to new places and have fun - and now I can do that. This was my first driving school and I opted for 8 hour course. The way it worked: i had a trainer (who's also the owner of this school, I think) she took 4 2-hour lessons over the day on the timeslots decided between us. Pros: - the car toyota prius (which the trainer uses to train) is in good condition, - more hands-on as I was asked to drive the moment I joined. - comparatively cheaper. Cons: - the trainer never seemed to be much interested in training. Half of the time she was in call with her relatives in the middle of the training while I am driving. She was literally rushing with the lessons and pushing me to take drive test after only my second class and I knew I was not ready for the test as I never drove before in my life but the trainer was persistent and no wonder I ended up failing the test twice. - before joining I did my online research and people said that the trainer is strict. I will say more than strict, there is respect problem with her. I knew I was not backing up properly, so one day on not backing up properly once I asked her if we can do it again instead of skipping to thorough driving, she literally said no to my face, she was more interested in completing the trip than me learning through it. While driving on Topanga the first day, she said the speed limit is 45 on this road, I asked where did she see? Her response was a rude "coz I said so". She will shout like crazy in middle of driving and often she won't have definite answers to questions. All in all, i saw n number of glorious reviews here about the trainer (don't know how) and this was one of those experiences where yelp failed me badly. Won't suggest. read more

Fibi was great! I booked a couple of hours of refresher driving practice for my son the day before his test. He was a bit rusty so when Fibi recommended that he took another two hours just prior to the test, we jumped at it. It was the best money spent since my son passed (after previously failed twice!). Best $100.00 I've spent in a long time. I had to renew drivers license. Haven't had to take test(s), written or driving for over ten years (online renewal). Met the instructor (Fariba) in front of their office. Was planning to do the driving practice in my car. Fariba advise me that I had to do the driving in her car. I parked and got into her Prius. We started going East on Sherman Way. Fariba was like a verbal navigation system, change lanes, turn right at the corner, look over your shoulder, green means go. The more I drove the more I wished I was back in my car. I did not like her car. You couldn't hear the engine. Finally finished the test drive. I asked Fariba "How badly did I do? Fariba reassured me that the driving test go well. She also told me to call after I take the test. Took the test at the Winnetka DMV. Great place everybody there was positive. Passed the test.
