Safeway Driving School, Marilyn and Rob were the most helpful and dedicated to making my DMV Driving Test understandable and easily passable. I came to them with 65 yrs. of experience, no tickets or accidents ever. I had just massively failed my first time with some 30 errors. I would definitely recommend the Safeway Driving School for Simi Valley. The time has come, that my son is old enough to get his driver's license. I checked around and ended-up going with Safeway in Simi and am so glad that I did. They have been awesome from beginning to end. We're about to have our final lesson and then my son will be taking the test. First of all, the MVP here at the Simi Safeway is Marilyn! She is absolutely amazing, so nice, and so helpful. She always calls to schedule things and just makes it easy. She has always made an effort to work things out for our schedule and for us to get the driving instructor we liked. She also even helped coordinate it so that my son could have his final lesson the day before his driver's license test. This was so he could practice the route, practice the points of the test, and have all of that fresh in his mind for the big test. Our driving instructor James has been so cool and my son loved practicing with him. He is a very cool guy and a good man. He has a very calm, friendly demeanor, and he knows how to work with young people well. My son felt really comfortable with him. James was very punctual, professional, and friendly. He gave us tips and practice suggestions for my son to do in between lessons. There are businesses that do the same thing, offer the same service, and even charge a similar price. But it's the people that make a service great and I'm grateful to these two good people Marilyn & James for making this experience great for both my son and I. This will be a long but detailed review (this review is based on my experience). I decided to take lessons at Safeway based on Yelp reviews, and I am very glad I did. We purchased 4 hours of lessons plus 1 hour of training before the DMV behind the wheel test and DMV behind the wheel test. Let me start by saying, the staff are EXTREMELY kind, understanding and accommodating. I did my first 2 hours with James which went very well and I was told to practice on my own as much as possible before booking my next lesson. I managed to practice for 50 hours on my own. Basically, a month before my next appointment, I had to call and schedule my 2 hour lesson to a closer date because of personal reasons. Marilyn and the other staff were so kind and empathetic towards my situation that they let me practice with another instructor (Rob, who was also very professional) and moved my appointment to the following week and they scheduled my 1 hour practice before the DMV behind the wheel test and DMV behind the wheel test the week after that with the owner of the company, Ash (who is SUPER supportive and kind!!! just because he came with me to my dmv test, it made me feel more confident). I can certainly say that no other company would go out of their way to do that for their customer so I am very thankful! I think that I have met and talked to half or more than half of the staff at this company and their customer service is superior to all the rest. We have used them for both of our kids. 3 behind the wheel sessions, 2 hours each time for 6 hours of instruction. The first session was getting the kids used to driving on the streets with other cars. The second session was freeway driving and the third session was preparing them for the DMV driving test. I've moved from other country that drive in the opposite side more than 10 years. I have 2 times fell in the behind the wheel test here. And Marilyn, she's so nice and suggest the course that match for me. I've applied 3 times (6 hours) and I passed the drive test when I just learned 2 times. My instructor are Kim and Rob.
